A talented Cedar Grove defense changed the momentum with a goal line stand and the Saints defeated Crisp County 21-14 for their second straight state 3A title and third in four years. Chavon Wright rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Austin Smith’s 17-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter to Rashod Dubinion iced the game for Cedar Grove.
