Now turning to medical news, the Kentucky Blood Center is again dealing with a blood shortage caused this time by the recent cold and snow.
And it's a good week to give blood and many Kentuckians are.
The big blue slam is underway.
It lasts through Friday.
It's a competition between the Kentucky Blood Center and the blood center in Florida after day two yesterday.
Kentucky leads 523 donations to Florida's 515.
So it is a nail biter.
Kentucky's eight blood donor centers are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day.
And mobile drives are planned around the state.
Donors become eligible to win tickets to the January 31st Kentucky Florida basketball game at Rupp Arena in Lexington.
