NJ colleges urged to help students with mental health issues

NJ lawmakers to vote on related legislation this week

Students say NJ colleges should offer them more mental health services, especially during the transition back to the classroom after COVID-19 lockdowns. Advocates support a bill that is headed for a vote in the Assembly Thursday; it would offer peer-support groups, require orientation sessions on mental health issues, and establish links to off-campus treatment.
