(all cheering and applauding) - Alright, everybody, lean in and smile.
(attendees cheering and applauding) I have a feeling this moment is one that I'm gonna wanna keep forever.
When I was in high school, I used to collect little moments.
I had a jar and a bunch of marbles, and I put one marble in for every good moment that I had in my life.
I had a marble for my little sister Halle, a marble for my mom and dad, a marble for each of my friends, each of my grandparents, each member of my family, and every good memory that passed by so that whenever I was feeling down, I could go to my jar, pour it out on the floor and hold in my hands all of these little good moments.
Holding them helped make them feel real and it helped me to remind myself how many good moments I had.
Graduation is a big moment, but it is made up of little moments.
It comes from every single moment that got us to this point.
College is made up of millions of moments, some really good and some bad, and these moments come together as a mosaic of our experience.
For me, the greatest experience I have had at MSU has been the privilege of being the President of our American Advertising Federation Chapter and taking home first place last weekend in South Bend.
(all cheering and applauding) I have poured my heart and soul into this team and the pride that I have for the work that we do together truly goes beyond words.
I have grown so much as a leader and as a creative through this incredible organization, and I wanna take a moment to thank my incredible team for all of their hard work.
My brilliant e-board, Yuricha, Grace, Jay, Phoebe, and Michael for giving it their all every day and to my advisor, Dave Reagan, for all the ways that he has helped me to grow as a leader these past four years with AAF.
You all have made my college experience truly unforgettable.
Another program that has had a lasting impact on me is the Street Teams program.
Getting to experience what it's like to work with local nonprofit organizations has been such a unique and rewarding experience.
Street Teams helped me to discover my passion for giving back with my talents and has really inspired me to pursue a masters in Advertising for Social Impact in the fall.
My experience with Street Teams completely shifted my career goals in such a powerful way and I would not be where I am today without it.
These last four years, I've learned so much about myself and about my dreams for my future, but overall the biggest thing that I have learned in college is that I can do this.
I can be a strong leader.
I can leave an impact with the work that I do and the things that I accomplish.
I can take risks and dive headfirst outside my comfort zone.
I can go up to a stranger in a coffee shop and walk away with a new best friend.
I can rediscover and grow in my faith in ways that can continue to amaze me every day.
I can live alone.
I can learn to love myself.
I can overcome heartbreak, overcome loss as I see my community rally around each other after our worlds were turned upside down.
I can do this, you can do this, we can do this, and so much more.
In college, I've learned that even the smallest moments, the smallest changes and the smallest decisions, the smallest kindness can have a profound impact on our experience and who we become in the process.
That is what graduation is celebrating, who we've all become.
If you had told me four years ago that I would be giving a speech at graduation, I would have laughed in your face and probably asked if you were feeling okay.
I think I said the same to Professor Greg Taucher when he suggested I audition back in October.
Sorry, Greg.
Looks like you were right.
After all our hard work, we're finally here graduating from college.
Take a moment to look around and enjoy a moment of gratitude for the wonderful friends, professors, mentors, parents, grandparents and family all around us that have supported you on your college journey.
And if you got here on your own, take a moment to be proud of that too.
At the end of the day, it is your own hard work and determination that got you here.
After this huge accomplishment, we should feel nothing but truly proud of ourselves.
So as we walk across the stage tonight, I invite you to think back on all of the moments that have shaped you into the person you are today and to think of what's to come.
You can be a leader and make your mark on the world.
You can take a leap of faith, you can share a smile and make this world better than you found it.
Whatever your next chapter is, you can do this.
I'm so excited to see what the future holds for every single one of us and for the simple moments where we may again cross each other's paths and I promise on that day, I'll smile and say to you, with all the pride in my heart, "Go green."
(all cheering and applauding) Thank you.
- [Teresa] Thank you, Abby.

So please celebrate yourself.

- 24 years ago, I'm watching NSU Spartans win the national championship.

Congratulations.
Visit us soon and visit us often.
- We are so proud of you and honored to celebrate this graduation day with you.
Graduation isn't just the end of a long journey.
It is the beginning of an amazing one.
- Please remember, you are always a Spartan.
Go into the world and do well, but more importantly, go into the world and do good.
Thank you for staying strong.
Go green.
- My gosh, I can't believe we've made it here.
You have all been through such an exceptional few years.
To make it this far, I don't take that lightly.
You are all such an inspiration, and I'm so thrilled to see you all out in the world and continuing to triumph.
Thank you so much for sharing this time with us, for making MSU the place that it is and for continuing to make the world better.
Congratulations.
Go out there and make us proud.
- Congratulations, graduates.
You made it.
And we know it wasn't easy.
Now take what you've learned and go out there and use it to do some good in the world.
- Okay, Spartans, it's go time.
You've earned that degree.
Now get out there and change the world.
- Hi class of 2024.
You all have faced a multitude of obstacles to get to this moment, both collectively and personally.
Some of them have been really heartbreaking and challenging to navigate, which makes this occasion even more momentous.
Regardless of whether you've just wrapped up your last credits or you still have a few more to go, I hope you can soak in this moment and enroll in the fact that you have earned it.
You deserve it and you've earned it.
I'm proud of you and I hope you're proud of yourselves, too.
Congratulations MSU graduates.
- You know, as college graduates, we tend to believe that we can plan our futures, but the fact is, many of the most consequential things that happen to us in our lives are from chance encounters.
The next time you're around someone you don't know, be friendly and be talking.
Tell them your name.
They'll tell you their name.
Tell them where you're from.
They'll do the same.
And then tell them where you went to school.
Whether it's a Spartan, a Nittany Lion, a Buckeye, a Hawkeye, you'll be amazed at how much this Big Ten network and Michigan State Spartan network can work for you.
- Getting to graduation day has been a hard fought victory, and you deserve every bit of joy it brings.
We are so very proud of what you've accomplished and this is only the beginning.
Congratulations.
- Hello, team.
(attendees cheering) You made it.
Congratulations.
We're all so proud of what you've done.
And I cannot wait to see what you do in audio/video land.
- Let today be a celebration and a reminder of all the hard work that you have put in to get to this point.
And a reminder of all the hard work yet to come.
Go out and make your names in university proud.
Congratulations.
- Congratulations.
The Spartan Nation is proud of you.
Go do good things.
- Congratulations.
You've done it.
The ComArtSci community is thrilled that our paths have crossed with each of you.
I imagine that today is both a bittersweet ending and an exhilarating beginning.
Think back to the first time you stepped foot on campus as a MSU student and today; today you'll leave the Breslin Center as a bonafide Spartan.
Take a moment to think about all the things that happened in between arriving on campus and today.
You've had an unlimited number of individual and collective opportunities and challenges.
It's safe to say that you are not the same person.
To quote Winnie the Pooh; "You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."
You are a Spartan.
Go green.
