Along the way, we serve arepas, empanadas, and we also use one of our key ingredients that it's panela, that it's unrefined sugar.
So, yeah, that's a little bit of a snapshot of Colombino.
My name is Sebastian.
I came to the States in December 2017 straight from Colombia, we founded Colombino in 2019.
And it's a result of a projec that we started back in the day in Colombia.
And basically I used to work with my dad, in a financial services company for agribusiness.
So I built a lot of connections with a lot of farmers.
Not only coffee, but also sugarcane, cacao, and tropical fruits.
So when I came to the States, I said, well, you know, I want to I want to really bring, the culture of Colombia.
And of course, our coffee's very well known.
But along the way, you know, we have a lot of things that perish the coffee and makes, like a whole ecosystem around that.
So.
So I always thought that I always wanted to highlight the farmers journey and just promote and bring their best, you know, to the States.
The experience that I want to get here at Colombino it goes beyond coffee.
It just goes, around all the great ingredients that we get from Colombia, like panela, you know, all the cacao.
Of course all the arepas, and those are traditional Colombian arepas that are, a little bit twisted to the American experience or American customers, you know, to make it easier and just to make it like a blend of, cultures in that, in that sense.
A lot of our stuff is from Colombia, our cook team is also from Colombia So the recipes are like traditional og, Colombian, music.
You know, you first thing you will listen to is Colombian music.
Like, smells You know, you'll see a lot of things that brings all the Colombian vibe here into the space.
The most popular drink, it'll be there for farmers latte.
And like I said before, yo know, I one of the main reasons we decided to make Colombino happen, it's because of the farmers.
And that's why we name that latte the Farmers Latte, because it, honors, you know, the relationships that we have with farmers.
And one of the key ingredients that we put in there is, made of panela.
So with the unrefined sugar we process it and add some spices.
And that's our signature drink, the Farmers Latte.
But also for the sake of their NFL draft and stuff.
And just to make things easier and convenient for everyone, the empanadas, they look like a football.
So the looks are very cool and they're very convenient.
So the combo we're going to be highlighting, it's going to be the black and yellow combo.
And it's basically an empanada and a cold brew.. It could be just a, you know into our Farmers Latte to our farmers cold brew as well.
So we have different options for our, our arepas or our empanadas.
Basically the arepas that we have our made of corn, all of them.
And you have you can pick in between breakfast, arepas .
For that.
It's just egg and cheese.
You have the sweet plantain arepa which is just ripe plantains with cheese.
On both of those, you can ad chorizo or bacon to really good.
And there's also th Colombian arepas that it's like, like a very nice way to show all the ingredients that we have in Colombia.
It's basically made of plantains and pinto beans, chorizo sour cream.
And there's the other one that it's them Creole chicken and potatoes.
Well, it's a very uniqu experience here in Pittsburgh.
There's no nothing similar like a Colombian authentic experience.
Our own coffee and all the foods that we hav that are basically hanging out and and yeah, you basically be getting real ingredients and very, very well crafted, foods and drinks.
Yeah.
We have our main location right now.
It's here in the north side.
We have another one in Bethel Park, and there's another one, in Lawrenceville.
And yeah, basically in this one in the north side, it's brick and mortar.
Same thing.
Bethel Park, the one that we have in Lawrenceville.
It's a food truck.
It's actually a food truck park that we're making there.
And it's really cool, you know, because it has this kind of, outdoor experience.
And, and this is something ne that it's brewing, essentially.
And we're opening our new location in downtown.
So, so yeah, that's big news for us and for everyone.
