Local comic strip "Terry and the Pirates" featured a love story that captivated readers.

For the comic strip "Terry and the Pirates," local cartoonist Milton Caniff based his character Dude Hennick on a real-life friend, Frank Higgs, whom he met at Ohio State University. In the comic strip, Dude had a relationship with Raven Sherman that captivated its readers.
