The Kentucky Land Journal reports that Kentucky Fish and Wildlife is planning controlled burns on nearly 2100 acres of Kentucky public land in order to improve forest and grassland health.
The burn affects the Clay Grayson Lake and Paul Van Buren wildlife areas in eastern Kentucky and Taylorsville Lake and Green River Lake in central Kentucky.
And while those burns are underway, parts of those wildlife areas will be closed to the public.
They'll reopen once the fires are out.
The burns will occur on weekends between now and January, depending, of course, on the weather.
