It is the 21st annual Metro PCS Corky, Kell, classic game, 2 of 5.
And we get to see something very special.
So, the Quest for a mythical National Championship in game two, it is the McEachern Indians taking on the Grayson Rams, both teams in 6A, region for versus Region 8.
Greetings, and good afternoon.
I'm John Nelson alongside my partner this afternoon.
The head coach of Blessed, Trinity, Tim McFarlin and let's talk about it right off the top.
It is the elephant in the room coach.
We haven't seen it since the days of Warner Robins in Valdosta chasing a national title with Grayson.
Well, there's a lot of good things that come with that excites the community.
And, and the players are charged.
The coaches will tell you that there's a downside to it too.
There's a lot of pressure when you thinking about, you know, retaining a State title and trying to earn another one.
You have an undefeated schedule and Gwinnett County.
That's very important to those guys.
So a lot of these things can be distractions if you're not careful.
All right, especially like games like this one on television, right out of the box.
Let's talk about Grayson and obviously things cycle around to the top recruit in the country.
And we're going to see a lot of them all year long and Robert Kim do Chi.
Yeah, Robert.
Tag the number one player in the country and he's earned that.
He's he's great young man.
He has this unique combination of size and speed that that has helped him to elevate himself to that position.
He is committed to Clemson University and he's a force that you have to deal with.
If you're going to play Grayson on both sides of the ball now, it's talk about it.
Things on the flipside, McEachern, a lot of new faces especially at the skill positions, but one guy in particular, they had for return on the offensive line.
One guy's going to have his hands full Only with number one, most of the day.
Yeah, Delaney is a great tackle.
He's an offensive lineman that has committed to Maryland.
I think he's the leader of the offensive line, he is a tall order today.
He gets to play against Campeche and, you know, the fans today get to see a unique matchup.
Usually you think about Marquee matchups being between a receiver and a defensive back?
Well here it's on the line of scrimmage today and it's also an ACC preview FSU.
I mean, excuse me, Clemson versus Maryland, I appreciate the plug for my Omega.
Let's send it to the third person of Our crew today she'll be patrolling the sidelines, the pride of Collins Hill.
High School Rayven tirado Raven.
What's the early word?
Hey thanks John obviously a big game today.
With Grayson High School in the house.
ESPN has some ring number one, and obviously, the number one recruit in the nation, with Robert kindaichi and McEachern is not going to slack off, they're really going to give these guys a run for the money for what they can do.
So it's going to be exciting to see what these guys can do out here on the field and see if they can put a stop to Grayson's.
Big defense with tin returning, starters on that incredible defense, a have back to you guys Raven.
Thank you very much and let's talk about the keys to the game here and we kind of run through them a little bit.
Obviously you talk about number one on the board, both start with McEachern and what we're looking at.
Well I think, you know with McEachern you're looking at a very young football team.
They're going to have to play mistreat mistake-free football, they'll have to capitalize on every opportunity.
They have to score.
Those opportunities will be few and far between today because Grayson returns nine people to the defensive side of the ball.
And also You talk about Grayson capitalizing on every scoring chance.
McEachern that hath?
No mistakes.
But what about Grayson?
Well, that first key is critical staying focused on McEachern.
You know, you can't worry about protecting your, you know, defending state championship or anything along those lines.
You've got to get focused on the people that you're playing and you know that's part of not reading the headlines and that's hard sometimes for a 16 year old kid but I think the coaches that Grayson are you know they're inexperience bunch of guys and Coach Khan will have them Focus.
Now you talked about not reading the headlines after this.
Ticular game today Grayson gets the 6th ranked team in the country in Miami Central coming to Loganville.
And you see the handshakes right there, trying to figure out who's going to be in what side of the football.
So there's no room for error or very little room for error today, and getting ready for that game against the sixth ranked team in the country.
Yeah, you can't look ahead and I think that Grayson will be ready to play.
One of the things about returning a veteran team is that you avoid a lot of the things that come, they come early with, you know, getting ready for your first game, having the Jitters and things like this.
You know, the last time Grayson played, it was right here.
Mickey Conn will have his guys ready to play 13 season built the program from the ground up at 137 for his career, and they see that big rock on the right hand of his on top of his head.
And that is the motto, right?
They're never satisfied Raven.
We'll get into that.
A little later on in the broadcast and that is the Mantra in Loganville this year as they chase after something that hasn't been in this state for 20 years being at the top of the ladder in all 50 states.
McEachern.
They're going to use this as a bit of a litmus test.
We're going to see where they are.
They've worked on their fundamentals and they are ready to go and if they can linger around and be there in the fourth quarter that's probably going to give Grayson reason for concern.
It's like okay this is a closer game and there's Kyle Hockman.
Yeah that's a great Point.
John the longer they stay close to Grayson you know the the advantage moves to McEachern.
They're young and they're excited to play.
I think they see this as a great opportunity to get better but also You know, they're going to step on the field today wanting to win the football game.
We'll find out in a few minutes while they're not.
Grayson has gotten past all of the hype and if they're ready to play the teacher teaching right now hyping 35 in 10 and his quick career at McEachern in Powder Springs, last three seasons for the Indians.
He has led them to 10 when seasons and look at these numbers.
Five shutouts across the board for Grace, the thing that impresses me most about Grayson's, they played 15 ball games last year, they gave Up less than 500 yards, rushing for the season.
That's right.
And you do the math on that and that's, you know, you're talking 35 yards, a game on the ground for an entire year per game.
And you see the finished up right here against the Walton, Raiders to end up that perfect 15-0 season and a great sense of Pride.
For Mickey having built this program from a double a school where he's playing, Buford in their Heyday, to being the man at the top of the ladder right now in 5A, last year.
Now, number one, Bulletin 6A, when it comes to the 2012 season, we're about ready to see how Grayson handles being the top.
Ranked team in the country as McEachern will kick off.
And Grayson will receive here at the Georgia, Dome game two, and it's a pooch off the top fair catch their and the key stream of get good field position if good field position away for Grayson right there.
So Grayson will start off on offense.
And it's going to be David mcteer, getting the start replacing Nick schuessler, who graduated, he's headed from Mississippi State.
Now, to Clemson, there's métiers biostats 511 180, and he gets to quarterback A Gifted guy behind him.
That's the run.
I'm going to start off right tackle and a quick gain up the middle Canal right off the right tackle, a couple of quick yards and let's look at the Grayson starting lineup brought To Us by our friends.
At Regions Bank, it's time to expect more.
There's your front line across the top big bigger and biggest pay attention to Hayden Gregory and Richard Pryor on the right-hand side.
There's your backs, Germany, gulman, final Griffin and Shaffer.
All of them are integral in the offense.
They will all get action and they will Get numbers.
By the time we are through gain of six off of right.
Tackle a handoff up the middle gain of about two heading up.
The left hand side.
Let's take a look at the McEachern defense once again, brought To Us by our friends at Regions Bank.
Billings Lena was cleared after a knee injury.
Last year is back as a junior.
On one end fam.
Rua on the other end with Jones in the middle, they play at 335 or 35 stack of you like to refer to it.
Parm.
Sure.
Owen, Frazier, boys and Pendleton are your linebackers and there's a secondary right there in that.
335 once again crashing up the middle, and it looks like they're going to move the sticks or at least measure for it and see if Grayson gets there first.
First down with Germany, John.
I think that Mickey's going to try to take mcteer's into the new starting quarterback and just establish a run game.
The great thing about the offense they run is the quarterback.
Doesn't have to be the playmaker and he just needs to get the ball to the guys who are and it allow him to to settle down.
I expected Continue to have a vertical Run game and then they'll go under misdirection off of that.
Try to do that at the left end around.
And stacked is Jordan, Germany.
Big play on the inside right there for a fam Rua.
Let's take a look at how they stopped it.
Well, McEachern does a good job.
They, you know, bring pressure off the edge and you know this is where I think mceachin can have some success if Grace and stays up inside most of the day that that might cause some problems from the kitchen, That tends to wear on a defense as the game goes on, but McEachern has great speed.
So outflanking them, maybe a little a little difficult for Grayson first formation for Grayson where they spread things out a little bit receivers out, right toss pitch, gulman government, trying to find the corner, does find.
It gets eight making up the five off a loss on first down.
So it'll be third and seven ish, close to the 45 yard line.
Well, that's a great block by Schafer at wide receiver.
He's able to capture the outside shoulder of the cornerback, allowing the running, back to get to the boundary.
One more.
Look at it.
You'll see speed sweep and the toss.
Yeah, run it back.
Does a good job of extending this to the sideline?
And here you'll see the receiver who was able to pin the corner inside you know.
So they ready to pick up 5 on the outside looking at third down and five.
Now for Grayson third and manageable making up the five-yard loss on first down, dead ball, personal foul, against the defense 15-yard penalty, from the end of the row.
First down, he takes care of that third and five with adding 15 it does.
And you have to temper this when you're a team, like the keychain you're young and you're playing a great team like Grace and you have to play with a lot of emotion, and that's a hard balance to find sometimes, you know, I think that was just a case where guys will get into the football little late tight formation hand off.
Once again, left guard, that will be Finnell and he'll get it to the 25-yard line gaining 5, which will make it now second down and five, Grayson with the First possession of the ball game, working on about two and a half minutes worth of possession time.
Blinding the ball mcteer has not put the ball in the air yet and don't anticipate it until he's comfortable.
In a rhythm with this offense, ocean near side inside hand off.
Once again to Finnell how is this way inside the 20 down around the 17-yard line for another first down for Grayson?
John what we're seeing up.
Front is a great Push by those guys up front for Grayson.
That's a big offensive line and they're getting off the football very well.
Carthon shrah bride Gregory and prior on that, right hand side machine, great push, Right Guard, right, tackle, it is First and Ten at the McEachern, 18 six-man, front for McEachern to try to stop the run toss kitchen whistles.
We'll see what the flag is here.
I know it's early I'm impressed with the combination of strength and speed to Grayson has and they're pounding, the ball inside very well but they have some guys that can get to the edge to its it's going to be a therapist ever read the words from Bill Martin our referee, you saw the officials for this particular ball game, sending it back to the 23rd.
One and honestly a lot of folks thought that mceachran was a trooper for putting this game on their board going up against the, the top ranked team in the state.
The top ranked team in the country in the top classification, but they're not going to back down from any challenge.
Anytime, this goes all the way back to Jimmy dorsey's years.
It's anywhere, anytime anybody Jimmy build a great program at McEachern.
That was always there, you know, their Forte, they quite tough football and they get they sought out the best competition in the country.
The Blake.
And that's what they've done today.
This will be a great experience from the kitchen.
I think they got a chance to win the Ballgame.
You know what's going to happen with them?
It's got to be a Bend, but don't break defense and you see Grayson's gonna get their yards inside.
What McEachern tries to do is just, you know, continue to play solid defense and look for turn.
It was whenever they can get one second down and eight down to the 16 yard line.
This is the ninth play of the drive for grace and grinding it out.
Is they have so far toss pitch?
Once again Garmin cuts inside touchdown Grayson almost too easy.
If it did.
If you're if you're coach Tom that's exactly what you want.
You know, you want to open the Season, Take the football, move it down the field again.
We see that the inside Run game set Sup, the perimeter game for them, it's just so hard to defend the entire field against this Grayson team because they're good at both Jordan, Germany with the push block, to to get gulman free and it's your tcsg touchdown replay, learn more earn, more of the technical Colleges and Schools of Georgia proud supporters of High School athletics and for the p80 but there'd be whistles.
But instead we get the point after nine play 63-yard Drive 353 off the board.
Here's how it all starts.
The Quest for the national title goes on the board with a quick six.
Grayson on the board early on.
While we were gone.
Welcome back to the Georgia Dome flag on the play.
Moved it back, five yards.
So once again, we'll try the p80 second attempt.
Same as the first attempt, we are good to go Grayson's up.
7-nothing once again 9 Place 63 yards.
Just under four minutes taken off the clock on the Run Finnell 4424 in the drive when gulman to carries 26 yards.
What you think.
Well I think like I said, I think Grayson did exactly what they wanted to do on the first drive of the season, the critical probably the critical thing.
Now for the Futures, they've got to be able to move the football.
They have to respond to this in some way and try to, you know, change the field position at the very least, you going to, they're going to have to answer Grayson scores.
But the pressure today clearly is going to be on the kitchen defense.
There's your Gracie scoring Drive once again, thanks to our friends at the Technical College.
Schools of Georgia, we helping us out all season long at their support.
Kyle Hockman, he's got some thinking to do.
Now, let's talk about Kyle Hockman, for just a sec Kyle Hockman, really enjoys, the opportunity to play in the cow classic and knows how important it will be for his Tink.
It's a huge game and a great honor, but at the same time, has no playoff implications.
We just need to go get better as the same way we've treated it every year and had pretty good success against some really, really good team.
So so we're excited about the opportunity and it'll sure give us a good measuring stick, where we stand measuring stick.
That is the Phrase That Pays for Kyle Hockman, that's that's at all measures to I saw the smile on your face when you said that to kick off deep for the kitchen.
Out just shy of the 20, yard line and McEachern of set up on offense to try to match Grayson's first, seven on the board.
But can they get into a shootout?
That's the big question.
If Grayson will get their yards and we run the football, can the teacher match them score for score?
Or are they going to have to grind it out to make sure the Grayson doesn't get those up but we come to come into this game and everybody's assuming of course that the, you know, the Great Defense has is going to control things.
What McEachern has to do is move the ball on them, and if they can then you know to create a little bit of doubt you going right now.
I'm teaching this going right at the strength of this.
Number one team in the country and we'll find out how good they're going to be on offense and hurry throwing in their first wrinkled.
I Griffin announce the starting quarterback is in the slot and tie Clemens who was also involved in the battle for quarterback.
Number to the Muir was taking the snap, but we got another whistle.
Let's see if it was formation.
Why a game, gets the offense, five-yard penalty from the previous spot.
Still first down, that's what happens.
I guess when you have a gadget like on and off the top, well it does.
The let's take a look at the McEachern 10 other than the quarterback.
There's your big line will get into the story of Sherrod.
Pittman a little later on.
We talked about Delaney in the pregame it's again starting lineup sponsored by our friends.
At Regions Bank, it's time to expect more of those are your backs Williams.
Sure.
Van Dorn.
Okay?
And TJ Raymond Now, let's see how they respond after getting the five yard penalty with two quarterbacks and let's see first off, who's going to take the snap?
And looks like we've got a timeout to think about.
Well John mceachran, had burn a timeout because it had 12 people on the field.
They were trying to get a guy off the field at that point.
All right let's look at this Grayson defense.
And I'm just going to describe them as where they're heading.
You got McGuire and Yancey and Hernandez up front for the Grayson Rams defense.
There you go.
Marin logo plug-in also its William saving the file and Sewell.
And also secondary coming up in just a second.
There's a Grayson Rams defense right there.
We'll set up that 11 that's a tough Bunch that you're going to have to go up against with the likes of him, Dieci and bandar and gulman in Germany.
Both playing both ways.
Casey games playing both comes, there's number one right there in teaching that there was a way.
We could spot shadow images kind of following along all day just have like a nice little lighted column, a lot of the action is going to be with candied ginger.
First wife left side, sweep gets to yards.
So it'll be second down and eight as Griffin.
Got the handoff at starting quarterback moved in from North Cobb pal hotner described him as the more physical of the two quarterbacks he did use the Tim Tebow reference when it came to comparing one to the other.
He said the Thai Griffin was more of the Tebow.
The more of the Bruiser would tie Clemens is more of a Robert Griffin.
The third more athletic version he is and that's the contrast of the two quarterbacks today.
He'll be expected to be a big part of the offense, running the ball just as we see here, It's a foot race.
Does he had the angle?
10 5 touchdown.
The key feature 79 yards and we are one point away from being tied.
We said it was critical that in the future and come out and try to match what Grayson did and here you see, you know, just as we said before the back so he's going to be a Big part of the offense today, nice job taking up inside and when he gets into open space, he's just hard to catch.
Great, block on the edge to spring it.
Elijah fangorn.
Make sure that Ty Clemens is free to go 79 yards on that.
Tcsg touchdown replay.
They're going to go for two and try to throw it.
Think about it a little toss pitch.
Does he break the plane?
Oh, great idea of ad-libbing Falls, just short to Dennis Dominguez the kicker.
And here's your replay on this bit of trickery Well, if I'm not mistaken this maybe gulman making the play.
You know, we see that they extend the play and, you know, we get the ball across the line.
We're fine.
Oh, I'm sorry, that wasn't gulman but either way it's a great defensive effort there.
That was super stop.
Some my Denson with the block just before the plane is broken 76, and there's Dennis Dominguez who wanted Nick st. Germain's number to become the kicker at McEachern, unfortunately, I don't think he was Looking to get hit on a PA to or two-point attempt like that, but an intimate, an interesting way for McEachern to come back.
They worked the inside.
Kandg bottom, the fake on the inside they sealed and there's your scoring Drive once again from our friends, at the technical college system of Georgia, your tcsg scoring drive to plays 81 yards, 49 seconds.
You can like those you do.
And also I like the approach by coach Hockman, he's basically saying, you know, We're Not Gonna, you know, we're not going to hold back.
We're going to buy all our bullets today.
The play, you know, the the play that, you know, where he's trying to go for two on the trick play.
I think it's a good idea, Earl.
He's got a young team, he's trying to give them an advantage and then there's the fact I've right there and then once again out and run and it's going to be out to the races and it looked like that someone was going to have the angle in time but it didn't happen that way.
Mara almost getting in on the tackle and another couch.
And handle out of bounds.
So it looks like Grayson's field position will be at the 26-yard line to start Drive Number Two.
Once again, racing out on defense, or on out on offense for the second time, the kitchen coming out one more time, so it's going to be interesting to see.
We saw the success that Grayson had with a very tight.
Going through the two wide once on a speed sleep, but will McEachern defense.
Once again, be able to plug the middle.
They had six guys on the line.
At one particular point two Wings inside, handoff up the middle looks like a gain of about four.
Looking second down and six once again, Jordan Germany.
So once again, you've got Germany and you've got Finnell getting early carries.
So now getting the better part of things as we go so far, We want to welcome everyone back to the Georgia Dome.
Having sipping sifted through the technical difficulties.
Sorry about that.
It is 76.
Grayson leading McEachern.
Grayson now on their second possession.
Right now here in the court I'm going to catch up right now.
And here's the touchdowns on the board toss is they're heading off left Edge, Roman in for the score to make it 7, nothing drive.
It took less than four minutes for the Grayson Rams to get on the board.
And And everyone on defense bit to the inside and then coming outside, it was McEachern, going 79 yards in a hurry, 49 seconds off the clock, they missed the two-point conversion off a trick play, and that's where we are halfway through the quarter.
Number one at 76.
Grayson as the top-ranked team in the country, tries to get their National Title kdhe up and down, step bombs Powers his way to the 45 yard line.
And that's what we expected from the big, it is.
Is, and it's almost not fair that a guy that big can run that fast 65 to 60 or 65 to 80 depending on, and here he is picking them up and putting them down.
Well, and you're going to see yards after the initial contact.
I mean, here, you see the second guy, the third guy, you know, and that's what he brings to the table for them.
And the delicate dance for Mickey Conn is trying to figure out just how much to use Robert came Dici on offense, knowing he's going to need him on defense.
I'd like the great luxury that The coach Khan has is that as good as Kim do Chi is, there's a lot of gifted guys around it.
And, you know, it's one of the reasons why you see him.
Play it on both sides, ball speed sweep to Garmin that time, gets it down to the 40.
So it's a pick up of three and there's Robert man.
Whose Twitter feed has around 9,000 followers Roberta's, underscore magnet.
One at the Twitter.
I don't think he's twittering or twittering twittering.
Tweeting.
Thank you.
Thank you Commander, Steve Graham with the first correction of the day tweeting from the sidelines, although it might be interesting second down and seven for the Grayson Rams inside handoff stopped.
But then continuing, his feet is Finnell.
Gets it just inside the for you.
Maybe down to the 38 yard line.
So, whenever gain of, to creating third down about five, John, I think today, we'll see a lot of third and five.
Third to Third and three.
And that's where the teachings going to, have to make it.
That's where they going to have to get the stops.
You just don't see - yards on this grace and all things.
Everything's downhill.
It's a very powerful offense.
It's very patient offense and I've enjoyed watching this.
I like mcteer.
I think he's running the good, you know, running a good huddle and he's making some good calls here inside.
Handoff to came DT who Powers his way, and I think I'm going to be using that phrase a lot today.
Powers his way forward down to the 34.
Another first down gain of eight, And here it is.
One more time, just watch the left side.
Let's just replace Paula playoff left, tackle offensive lines, getting the great Bush and then, of course, you know, you got a great running back, it's hard to stop.
After hitting me, he continues to get to 34 yards.
Three carries 36 yards for Kim.
Do Chi so far, motion far side and off gulman on the speech.
Sweet.
30 tries to cut it back inside stop at the 25-yard line.
But as you said races getting another five yards on first down to make it s in management and possibly even third less man.
Yeah, they win the ball.
I did they win the Battle of offense on first down and they've got a great mix of inside outside.
Coleman part of that Crew.
That's heading to Clemson along with Kim, D Chi and kemara.
Nick schuessler went to Mississippi State transferred is now preferred.
Walk-on at Clemson, created some questions.
We'll get into a little later on here in the game.
Second down five, Germany try, speed sweep stopped, ankle tackle gets out of that carries tacos.
Over the 20 for a first down ball, pops out with the whistle blew.
So it will stay with Grace.
This is what we were talking about with Robert a minute go to yards after contact here you see it now with you know with the the speed sweep and they're doing the same thing.
These guys are good running backs and it's going to take a game Tack and everything down and that's what Mickey Conn brought up to us this week, when he was talking about it, you're talking about Harry's McCall, he's now coming into the game.
Number six, you're talking about Jordan, Germany, 27 talking about.
Kim do Chi 1 talking about mcteer.
You're talking about Wingo Number 4, Grayson's running game.
Come at comes at you in waves and you have to be ready for all of them.
When you get third and fourth quarter, the depth of the running back helps.
Grayson out doesn't help out that defense that's been out there all day.
Seven first downs already for the Grayson Rams in this game.
First and Ten at the 23, 19 and Counting first quarter, and everyone coming in from Loganville to catch up this particular ball game.
The second of five here at the 21st, annual Metro PCS, Corky Kell classic inside, handoff Canal, breaks a tackle, works his way inside the 10 down to about the six another first down for grace, and they are grinding it right now.
Are Paving the road.
Here's another look at it from Brownlow.
Well, this is a trap play.
You'll see the left are controlling and you know it's just another one of the weapons in their Arsenal to very frustrating thing to be a coach on the other side of this, you know, you know what they're going to do.
You're hitting you inside and out and it will not lose no effort to throw the ball whatsoever but it's just so hard to stop quick snap.
Powered off of rightward.
Light tackle down inside the Trying to catch McEachern.
Going to change the market just outside the to man.
Another quick snap.
Tear handoff, candy qi6.
I see if I think I seem to keep using the same phrases but it's almost too easy.
Yeah.
If it's not born to Mickey gone but if it is does appear, you know what you look at it, it's the same thing, it's really a, it's a very effective offense.
You see again, you know, they're going to go off, tackle with this hand, the ball to the big guy.
You know the horses up front or just blocking down and Kim D. Cheese looking for a seam, and he finds one, tcsg touchdown replay and when you're 65 the balls at the to you lean forward, you've still got six inches there.
Phe is deflected but it's up and in 14:6 Grace.
And once again scores to 36 left on the clock two possessions to scores for the Grayson Rams, they are in 14 6 /, McEachern game 2 of the 21st, annual Corky Kell, classic, more of the second quarter coming up.
Welcome back to the Georgia, Dome to 36 to go 1st quarter.
Grayson two possessions to scores leading, McEachern by eight.
Let's send it downstairs to Rayven tirado for storytime Raven.
Hey, thanks guys.
Yeah, very interesting story, Mickey Conn referred to this team as being kind of like rocking three or they could have the ability to be but he didn't want them to end up like that.
And if you don't know the story behind Rocky 3, basically he was this big stag.
He went in He got defeated in a match or I guess upset you could say, and then he had to make a big comeback and he doesn't want to steam have to go through that since they are out on number one, right now, back to you guys.
Thank you very much Raven, Rocky's trainer, Mickey scheduled a bunch of tomato cans just to make sure that Rocky Balboa would keep the title.
However, that Nikki right there, is that scheduling any tomato cans to me.
No, he is, he doesn't have to, he's, he's, he's got the, the biggest horse in the, in the race and he knows it.
No Mick.
He's done a tremendous job of the recipe is surrounded by a very talented football.
Team 11-play 74-yard drive, the Second Time Around 437 off the clock, Robert, Kim d, g, all 65 280 pounds of him right there in the scoring Drive, wraps it up from six feet away scoring Drive, brought To Us by our friends at tcsg.
You look at that 11 and 74, that's almost seven yards.
A carry average on that drive alone.
John you wonder what?
Clemson's going to do?
You know?
I mean, we know he's a great defensive player but, you know, you can't get overlooked what he does on offense.
It's going to be probably the biggest Wildcat of the biggest two-way player we've seen in quite some time.
Kick-off field at that, the can 25 up to the 30.
And let's go through the keys to success once again, brought it to us by our friends at Russell.
Athletic, coach coach room real quick.
Yeah, for McEachern is mistake-free football, you know, they got to make sure they don't turn it over going to have to have some great plays from the quarterback Clemens.
They got to capitalize on every scoring chance and they've done that so far, see if we can match it for Grayson.
Again they look very focused on the teaching and not listening and reading the headlines and all the hype.
And I think I'm every indication.
What we see today I think is extremely focused.
Two possessions about eight minutes off the clock, total 14 points on the board mceachran, came back with a score of their own on a great fake and outside run.
Once again, outside running seems to work, gets it out to the 37 yard line on first down there.
That's Mike Sherman, all 59 175 pounds of at the tail usually play.
Well, you know, the fact that they're able to run the ball from the quarterback position makes the, you know, the running backs that much more effective.
I'm impressed with the push.
It was getting on the line of scrimmage, you know, we talked about Delaney, a few minutes ago and there they rode behind them and pick up some pretty good.
Yd S, 2 is exactly where you want to be if you're playing against Grayson, and we're talking about that McEachern line to 75 to 90, to 60, to 80 to 90, across the front, fake the handoff rolling, right?
And it's almost picked off almost picked off that time by case.
He gains, he had it, it went through his hands.
What you have taught Griffith in at quarterback now and you know, they make a make a decision to run a little bootleg which I think misdirection is really good.
Just got to be careful that you don't throw the ball into covered.
Cherry can't turn the ball over to gonna hang with them looking for allies.
Your van going for the completion, which brings up a third and a little short to at the 39-yard line has to get it to about the 40 and a half four first downs about as tight as a culmination of whatever seeing the power.
It easy first down there that time picked up by Ty Griffin.
You know, that's a, that's a simple-looking play, but that's impressive, you know, third to against disgracing fun and they get a good push and pick up three yards.
That's that's a positive sign and they're going to be running away from Kim Dici, a lot today.
Something else to focus on, they'll be running at Jack Banda running away from that guy, running at Marquis Motley at 225 Banda clocks in at about 2:30.
So, if you had your choice of running at 2:30 running at 225 running at 280, where you going?
Well, I don't get away from away, from 280, right?
Toss pitch to The Edge 4550 across Midfield and a late flag thrown in that time.
I'm not sure.
Jonna thought it may have been effacement was seeing Thomas pitch to Taj Griffin ties younger brother and he will early action.
See what the man in zebra stripes in the white hat has to say on this one.
Well, Kim do Chi was making the call and he said it was against McEachern.
I guess.
It was right.
The Luminaries a hold on the ketonic each other and here's your focus on number one.
Steven said it was a hole.
Past conditi on the run there and Ichi called a whole he was correct.
So they're going to send it back.
We have a whole against the offense 10 yards from the spot of the foul.
It will remain first half.
Middle of your screen right there.
That's the hold and push, everything else associated with it.
Well, that's one of those big offensive line that and they'll do that guy gets away from a place.
That's one of the things you hate to see picking on play with positive yards.
And I thought the met on a two tank, two wide receivers at the top formation.
So if it gets them out of range, the first and 11, for a gain of about two and a half, So the second down about eight tackle, Jordan, Germany.
You know, and you look at that Grace and defense with seven athletes who have already declared division, warm status, or committing to those schools that front line across the board.
Like, the Kenichi going.
Go to Clemson along with gulman and from are going to Clemson you that band of going to Arizona, you got a lot of variety.
A lot of frequent flyer miles for coaches to come see the Grayson name second down and nine rolling out is going to tuck it and try to get rid of pressure.
It's out of bounds, maybe at the 42 between the 42 and the 43, it's like they're going to spot him all the way up to the 45, the Clemson connection has to do with that.
Head coach Dabo Swinney in there.
It is right there, all verbals gulman Tamara Kim teaching, they're all heading to Clemson to hang out with Dabo Serena after their days are done this season and that was the surprising.
One of all that came out in the picture.
ER, surprisingly enough off of a Twitter feed is wearing a Clemson jersey, right?
And he's there with his buddies at a can, but my understanding too is there's a strong relationship there between Dabo and Coach.
Don, I think they spent some time in college to grow that Alabama.
That's right.
Snap out of the shotgun quarterback, keep running near side, tie Griffin over, the 50 lowers the boom gets to the 45 Germany in on the tackle as well as Nate Peters.
So that will be a first down in McEachern will move the sticks, great calls a quarterback draw Grayson's, getting hard, pressure up inside and off the edges.
And you know, they call the draw and run right by.
I thought it so I like what McEachern is doing, they've got a very balanced attack right now.
Much like what Grayson's do, and they don't have the power that Grace involved, but they're still working inside and out John, I want to go back to a point to about all the commits while ago.
I don't know if it was by Design, but it's really a luxury.
When a football team who has several D1, guys, if they will go ahead and make those commitments early, it takes away, that's just one more distraction.
We could get waiting to see who's going to sign with.
So to get that out of the way early in the season and these kids know where to go and it's think it helps.
Here's your speed sweep.
From Griffin, the Clemens stacked up right in the middle loss of six.
They're going to give it so it s 16 back at the 49.
Something to keep an eye on Ty Griffin.
Coming off the field at left.
Ankle, is a little gimpy.
So that means that I Clemens will now be quarterback, quarterback situation, possible Wildcats, other formations for the foreseeable future and that'll do it for the 1st quarter.
Grayson Flawless on the ground to Shins and two scores.
They lead the teacher.
5:46 is their quest for the mythical National chart.
Title starts right here in game two of the 21st annual Metro PCS Corky, Kell Classic on the great GPB.
Welcome back to the Georgia, Dome game 2 of 5, the 21st annual Metro PCS.
Corky Kell classic, Grayson leading, McEachern 14-6 after the first quarter as we get ready to start the second, but hey, be sure to catch Jen hobby of the Birch Show.
She kicks off.
GPB football, Fridays.
All-access pass beginning Friday, September the 7th at 7:30 live from Centennial, High School, Friday nights in Georgia were never more fun.
GPB Sports football.
Friday's all access pass followed by the Centennial Edward game beginning September 7th at 7:30 right here on GPB.
Teams have turned around.
We're getting ready to start the second quarter and McEachern.
You said they have a wind coming out of that first quarter.
They do, you know, as we went off the air for a second.
You know what you realize is that coach hawkman's looking at where they are at this point and at the end of the first period, the down one score and they've got the ball at Midfield.
So at the very least they're going to, you know, they'll flip the field on McEachern.
You know, you got to be happy with that.
You've got a young team, you're in your This game and I don't think we've seen as many mistakes as you normally see, with the team.
This young in the first game of their season, passing complete to rejean right down the sideline, creating a second and ten numbers out of the first quarter Clemens for McEachern for carries 85 yards.
For Grayson 5442 for kandg, and a score for 432 in the Square for gulman, Finnell 6440.
First down story, right now, it's all Grayson 93.
Little hesitation on the handoff and then they try to go up the Middle with it, but they don't get a whole lot.
Lot of yards with the handoff right there.
So it's going to stay close to Midfield the handoff to Ryan Sherman.
It's very little, so it'll be fourth down and 15 from Midfield and the kitchen will have to punt.
Back deep Chase Jones to get the snap from Center.
63 180, pound Junior will have to punt away and bracing.
Try to clear the road.
One more time and see if they can go 343 when it comes to their drop, Sam Jones miles away.
It's a wobbler obviously kicking the way return, but it's going to get a great roll over this all the way down inside the five to about the three yard.
And here's our schedule sponsored by our friends at Sonic.
Look at what Grayson has to do.
There's McEachern today, six days from now Miami Central and then the fun begins.
Yeah, they get into that region play.
And as we said earlier, Gwinnett County so much history of great football there and I'm thinking I think in a way it's one of the things that makes racing such a good program is that you know as they were coming up out of the ground, these were the guys that they had to had to go again.
I know they played Beaufort early, I went back and looked they they played a heavy schedule for several years and it's made him look, they are today.
Finishing up with Archer and work.
Three yard line possession.
Number through a minute.
You three into the second quarter, handoff up the middle and powering it out.
Is the running game and once again it's Finnell getting the majority of the carry so far for the Rams gets it outside.
The five looks like they're going to spot it close to the 7-yard ones that would be you gain for second set.
You can Con making sure that everyone knows the signals and you can't miss that ring on his right hand back to pass metier.
First time today tries to throw it outside away from coverage and it is incomplete to Jack Panda.
So now third and six from the seven, you have to be careful here you do.
And this is what McEachern has been hoping for, you know, third and six.
Get them down in their own territory.
And I think it's the first time today, we've had a third-down of this link.
I think Grace is going to call a timeout and talked about this recently that's their first time out.
You see Mickey they're giving the tear an earful.
So there's towards that a Mickey cons mouth, come on.
So you look at what Grayson gets to do, there it is right there.
That's what they have coming into this season defending state champs, top team in the country, in a couple of holes, semi Finalists 2008 -2010 five straight years in the quarterfinals 60 and nine since 2007.
And we talked about what Nikki Khan is done, think about Nicky is 137.
So if you do the math, you just forty and Twenty Eight that before 2007, the building a program to where it is now and you see what he's been able to do and being able to build and mold a program is something very special for a lot of coaches, you know, he said something not too long ago.
I can't remember if it was that the launch and Betty he said that winning generally are typically will follow and character and I think the first thing he does and he is programmed it is he emphasizes that strong character, you have to have it you have to be a good character to play for Mickey or he won't play it and you know that that shows up in every aspect of the game play was doomed from the start stack formation.
Very tight mcteer's Opposed to hand off to Kim, do Chi McEachern, had that blown up from the beginning you did.
And you ask while ago, if they could make it three for three and we said, you know, this is a this is a big stop for McEachern.
It looks like there's a miscue there to, I'm not real sure what happened on that.
But evidently that's two plays in a row that they had some difficulty Henry film ruin for the tackle and you look at he's taken off the visor that's how unhappy he is right now because going on Ball 25.
And I have to be a quick punt for Jack Van de not a whole lot of space behind him.
But McEachern, lets him punt.
It away.
Picked up at the 41, this is root over the hole right there.
30 25, 20 mandala have to push him out of bounds and make the tackle all the way down to the 14 yard line for McEachern, 35-yard punt.
Five on the return, Don, one of the reasons you get a good return in this situation is that, you know, the punt team has to block solid for a little bit longer that they're aware of the fact that punters in the end zone and they just have to hold their blocks.
And it's going to give us going to give mceachran room to run the football.
Rob Parsons picks it up and you see Banda right there.
Making sure that he didn't lose Parsons, as he ended up trying to shoot his way, one way or the other band to held his ground knocking out of bounds.
And we've got Got a penalty on top of it.
Why there's a white head on the sidelines against the Green Team?
That's half the distance to the goal first time so that takes care of seven yards, moves him, seven closer, first and goal.
McEachern at the, Grayson 7 -yard line and talk about Prime real estate right now.
It is they've got to get points out of this, but they really need seven.
Clemens at quarterback, handoff up the middle fake and fake everyone out into the endzone tight Clemens for the score but we got a flag that's typically in that holding area and you hate to see that on this bike, what a great fake quarterback Road, the running back for an extended period of time, they came off the edge and I'm, you know, I'm really impressed with with Clemens and off to Mike Sherman up the middle like a Option quarterback holding it until the very last second when he saw the defense commit, let's get the call.
We have holding against the offense.
That's a ten-yard penalty from the spot of the foul still first down.
John that goes back to the keys of the game and we said you know McEachern cannot afford to let go scoring opportunity.
You know you can't go backwards down here not against Grayson but again that's part of the young you know, part of the youth that we see with McEachern, they are in their first.
Get many of these guys are starting their first varsity football game.
I think got an experienced offensive line in front of him for returning.
Jason Marquis Motley wrapped up right there in the middle.
That's where it happened right in the middle pile.
So, it's now a first and goal from the 17 from the patron.
And we've got whistles again, it's a timeout for Grayson again.
Let's take a look at the opposition and what they've done in their history of Grace.
That's their second timeout, feature in, Indians region, Champs, 09 and 2010 14.
Overall.
Once again, we talked about what coach Dorsey has built 2010's or first second round appearance since their championship appearance in 1999 the best season 98 losing 1411, the Valdosta at Bazemore Hydra, Stadium, Cleveland field, that was eight.
A sucks at quarterback for McEachern, 19, more games from eighty, five to ninety nine, and there at the bottom, Jimmy Dorsey 219 Jimmy's one of the great guys in this sport in Georgia, I've talked with Coach Hockman earlier and he just talked about how how great Jimmy had been.
And as matter of fact, I think coach doors, he is pretty much completely stepped out of the way and allowed Kyle to come in and run the program as he sees fit, and, and that speaks volumes about Jimmy Dorsey.
He he's built a foundation at this school that will last them for many years and Coach Hopkins.
Done a very nice job of this program.
Talk about Hockman, his dad at 70 years young as the offensive coordinator.
And there are people said there are so many good people at McEachern talking about hot men.
He said to get to spend time with his dad about the details of the game, right?
It's awesome and giving his dad, the best on the field, confident, because the best on the field coach he's ever seen, and he gets to spend every day with him as coach.
And there's the proud papa right there.
Trying to figure out, first of all, that they have a disagreement.
I wonder You got head coach on one side and father on the other that I think this is one of those where the offensive coordinator wins.
Thought about a pitch hung on to it.
Ty, Clemens ends up back to the 20.
So it's another loss of about two and a half.
So it's second and goal from the 20 now for McEachern.
And we've seen how McEachern has done things.
All of their success has been off.
The right hand side but of course they're trying to work the left hand side to make sure that things are balanced off.
So McEachern doesn't are so Gracie, doesn't or McEachern coming from?
They do again?
I think it's going to come down to Clemens.
I mean he you know, he's such a talented guy with a ball in his hand.
And here, we see a great play action, fake and had a receiver opening.
Just couldn't find him, couldn't hit it incomplete In The End Zone looking for First.
Okay, the tied end all the way down so now it's third goal and here's your replay one more time.
Once again, a great play fake that time by the quarterback it is and it's it's a throwback.
It's a throwback to the other side of the field and the safety was crossing the center of the field of try to honor the run.
And on to the fact that, you know, you've got great Runner with Clemens and it opened things up.
I think, third and Long.
John, what you do here is just try to get some positive guards and set it up to three trips up top.
Look.
In back inside screening picked up the 20 escape to tackle inside the 15 down to about the 12 and it's in the middle of the field.
So that'll give Daniel a Dennis Dominguez.
A chance for a straight-on field goal attempt.
So they got the yards which is what you were looking for.
So now, it's fourth down and goal and we're going to look at it one more time.
Here's Kim d, g. Look at the hands of all the hands and everybody's faces both sides that time.
Yeah.
If you're the quarterback out there you're going to be throwing the ball under pressure and you know Kim D. She is.
He affects the game in so many different.
Four ways of the pressure.
He puts on a defense on and offenses is just incredible.
Dennis Dominguez, setting up for a 30-yard field goal, 750 and counting in the second quarter.
Getting points on the board blocked thought about having six with early field position down around the 7th thought about having three there with a 30-yard field goal attempts and block and they come up with nothing.
Well how big is the penalty you know?
Clean off of the edge off the near side.
Once again, it's Casey games and there's the coaching staff for Grayson.
They know they escaped one.
Look at that, that's a great stop for them.
I mean, you know, they were in trouble there.
You know, they had the Bad series on offense.
You know, the defense is is with their backs to the goal line and they're able to, you know, come out of there with no points against them, that was huge in case he gains is.
Penn State has Penn State and his future Ted roof.
Came down to take a look at Casey gains and gains ran of 40.
He run a 44, 44, Ted roof, when roof decided he wanted to recruit gains.
And so of course, when Penn State goes down to recruit Casey gains, then Wisconsin comes calling in a bunch of other schools.
Have now come calling for Casey games were right now.
Penn State State College, especially with everything that's going on up there.
It's a great story and a great opportunity for Kasey Kahne, it is I really hope kids will still consider Penn State.
A lot of those guys.
They're from the Atlanta area and They were here at Georgia Tech coach O'Leary and I know they're going to do a great job inside.
Handoff Right Guard?
Right tackle once again for racing gets a couple outside to about the 23 or 24 yard line.
Gang, tackling right there.
Once again, Jordan, Germany with the carry Well, again, we see about 45 yards on first down and you know that that's exactly what you want.
If you Grayson, I'm sure whatever it was with with Mickey and the quarterback.
I'm sure they got that squared away on the sidelines and usually the answer is just to come back and Hammer the football and that's what they're doing right there.
Wayne gulman over the 30 out to about the 32 yard line.
So that'll give them another seven or eight yards, spotted about the 31.
So give me a seven.
And once again, plow in the road, John.
I wonder how many throws per game.
Grayson averages, I'm in his, not many, I mean, it can't be more than three more, and they don't have this with most offenses.
If you don't have to wash it, you write stop me and until you stop me.
Why should I bury it from anything?
Once again?
Gulman off the deep?
Handoff three McEachern guys around him out to the 35.
So once again it's another for another four and a half, winding the clock now under 6:45 to go in the first half.
And there's mcteer who I think in the first couple of weeks, it's like, okay, just make sure that, you know, the system hand the ball off, to the guys behind you and we'll be okay.
It is, and we said in this offense, he doesn't have to be the playmaker.
He just needs to get the ball to the guys who are my, you know, I'm sure that Mickey expects a lot from him as far as running the Huddle and making checks at the line of scrimmage.
And my guess is, that's probably what they were having their little discussion about just a few minutes ago, but there again.
They'll come back and they'll go back to their inside-out game and continue to work the ball up, the field in it, you know, it'll be fine for them up to the 38.
Once again, working it to the inside, you say, it and happens out there.
It's the magic of television either gain a three or four gets it up to about the 39 yard line.
So we're looking at between the 38 and 39.
So we're looking at a third down and about 3 km D Qi in and another quick opportunity to try to get the ball snapped Bumble ball is knows who's got.
Get the kitchens got it.
But we got a flag.
It will see if it happened before the snap or if it happened during the play and this is going to be big.
John worked, five minutes to go in the let's see which side clinched first and it looked like, There's no flag.
Bumble was recovered by the white team first down.
Wave the flag off and McEachern gets another opportunity.
Yeah.
And I don't know if we get to see that again or not but that that was caused by penetration at the nose guard position, you know, and all of a sudden there it is, helmet on the football helmet on the football, you know, somebody didn't shut down a gap there.
I don't know if the guard was supposed to step down on the center was supposed to step to him, but he split the Gap and got his helmet on the football.
And that's, you know, that's usually trouble for the offense Chandler, Jones.
It's often knows all 64 320 pounds of him.
Another opportunity for McEachern to get points on the board and stay within Striking, Distance of Grayson 537 to go in the first half, snap whistles there as they try to speed sweep to Taj Griffin Mill.
It's happened once again is another flag or timeout.
Well, I think we can turn the key.
Yeah.
Micucci And didn't have a job applicants away, they wanted.
So they call the timeout to stop before the play.
Got going.
What we're going to do is we're going to take a breath and see how McEachern can respond getting another opportunity at the Corky?
Kell classic, Grayson leads, McEachern, 14:6 second quarter on GPB, Welcome back to the Georgia Dome game.
Two of the 21st, annual Metro PCS Corky, Kell classic, Grayson leading, the kitchen 14, 65 and a half, to go in the first half.
And when it comes to Broadway, catch the new PBS series, that takes you behind the scenes on the road to stardom Broadway, or bus Premiere Sunday, September 8, and 8 p.m. on GPB and later here at the Domain.
Only one of the stars of the series as she performs live, you won't want to miss it, Broadway or bust.
On GPB.
That's going to be a very interesting series.
You know, you get the opportunity to pursue your dreams and that's what a lot of folks do here on the field.
You can be chi as the commander Steve Graham just said, he'll be on Broadway.
One day, that'll be one of the tallest Leading Men ever in the history of Broadway, are going to have to reinforce the stage fake handoff quarterback.
Draw one more time up.
The left hand side down to about the 27-yard line tie.
Clemens taught Clemens has an impressive athlete here again he's going to ride the the back and then you know he gets a lot of this on his own.
He's going to make you miss.
I like this guy's running back and you look at the numbers, take out that 79 -yard run by Clemens.
They only have 40 yards of total offense, otherwise Yeah, but I like where they are.
John okay, I mean at this point again, they're down by one score.
They've got the ball inside the 30, their head man, you know, about four minutes on the clock.
This is exactly what coach Hockman you want in this situation.
Trips up top motion, handoff up the middle, once again faint and Cat.
Inside the 15, down to the 10 inside, the 10, Ty Clemens, again holding the football, until the very last second.
Big first down for McEachern, first, and goal.
Well, yeah, but you know, the fake is something, the great thing about a fake.
Is it it helps to nullify great.
Blaze by defensive, guys are reactive and they're you know they're taught to get to the ball, the speed and that's what they're doing but Ty Clemens is putting on a clinic here on how to fake the football gain of 19 for Clemens on that particular play that marked it.
If the 9-yard line we're coming up on four and a half to go, first half and McEachern.
Once again on the verge of putting points on the The board we've got whistles, once more and another timeout, Grayson.
And that is their last of the first half with 427 to go, John Grayson's, gonna have to get some defensive help out of the secondary.
And, you know, we haven't seen Ty, really throw the ball effectively.
And I think what Grayson will probably do is take their defensive backs and say, Hey, listen, you know, we've got to tighten down run support off the edge, they've run the ball, McEachern runs the ball.
Ben side, just enough, you know, to give it a legitimate threat, and then tie gripping does his thing off the edge.
And it's, you know, that's a problem right now.
Now, let me see, McEachern right there, and they did it last year against North Gwinnett was a little later in the day.
But McEachern winners last year, 2617 Trent Thompson.
Now marking time at Georgia state, with the long touchdown pass right here, and it was 22:17 late until Till a late interception Scotty, huh?
Share with the score to get things closer.
It was 22:17 late and then mceachran ends up returning an interception late.
Make a 26:17 2617 McEachern has been in every Corky Kell classic, as part of the tradition of it, it's always been McEachern.
It's always had Brookwood.
Kyle Hockman got a win last year in the Corky Kell 9, over North Gwinnett.
He's down eight right now.
To Grayson the top ranked team in the state but they're once again on the verge of scoring speed.
Sweep hand off.
In trouble, trying to get around all the traffic and doesn't it's a lost Wayne gulman in on the tackle, back at the 15th.
But this goes back to our earlier Keys, you know, you got to take advantage of scoring opportunities and in the Red Zone you know you don't want to go backwards and that's exactly what just happened.
It's going to be important here.
That don't suck it down that they get some significant.
You know, positive yards.
You're looking at second and goal from the 16 at the very least.
They've got to come out of here with three Taj Griffin, the younger brother of Thai Griffin with the Carrie right there, Jack Banda.
Also in on the tackle for the Rams under four minutes to go first half second and goal.
Trips up top Clemens with the little screen outside at the hash 1510 and tackled down at the 9 yard line.
Once again, making a little work there.
That Elijah.
Van Dorn getting it inside or they're going to Market at the 10 off the screen.
Once again, let's take another look.
Impressive play by the safety Carter.
This is an open field tackle and you'll see him come up and make this hit.
And that's what we were just talking about, is going to have to get good run support essentially.
That's a, you know, that's a screen pass out to the right to swing past, and those safeties have to come up and make that play Third and goal from the And two receivers down low looking looking middle of the field pot, touchdown McEachern.
Where would just answer the question about someone's throwing the ball?
I mean that that's a nice World down here and a lot of traffic press.
OK the tight end they tried it on the near side once before with okay and he was wide open, he was overthrown this time he was marked but it was well enough Throne to her.
Okay.
Could get to it Chris.
Okay, 46 and it looks like one of two things could happen here out of The Swinging gate, they could go for to if they look at the matchup and see that Have an advantage or they'll come back into the middle of the field and kick the point after, let's see what happens here.
The Call by Clemens.
Looks like it's going to be a two-point attempt once again, rolling rolling and throwing a little pitch in complete with play that they tried the first time down on the other end for that score.
They tried it again, didn't work for the second time in a row, trying to throw it complete to Dennis Dominguez to point is no good, but it's 11:46 and let's look at the touchdown and how McEachern got on the board one more time.
Well they were able to control the pressure for one thing and that's because they've been running the ball.
Effectively he stays in the pocket makes a great throat.
Here's another look from the floor and you see right there off the hash, okay, just finds it.
Casey gains back is turned.
Let's take a look from up top.
Well you know, nice job by the offensive line to they were able to take the pressure and fun look to the outside.
And you know, Clemens was able to stay in the pocket.
Candy Chi was ineffective on that, he was not able to get up inside.
And and you know, looks like if you're going to give Clemens time to throw, he could hurt you throwing the ball in.
Run it Travis fair and chuma.
It Doga both double-teaming that time.
And let's take a look at the scoring Drive.
Brought To Us by our friends at tcsg five plays.
34 yards took just over two and a half minutes off the clock.
We've got three minutes left in the first half and if you're McEachern right now, you're right.
Where you want to be, you know, you're right.
You know, I know they don't like the fact they didn't pick up the two extra points, and that may tell us something about the kicking game to.
I don't know if you know if they have some concerns.
They're not.
But You know, you're right here toe-to-toe with the number one team in the country and that's, that's pretty good.
Coach is knocked out of bounds punt.
It out of bounds, no touch by Grayson so that will be brought out.
To the 35.
And what about this?
Grayson defense off the top.
I mean, they're getting all of the all of the action that McEachern is getting is off of the right hand side on their offense and then when all of a sudden the kitchens offense makes their hay, on the right.
Then you have Ty Clemens who is just faking them out of their shoes.
Yeah, I think he's the key and I think if they are, we'll chill shocked at this point in time.
Are all be first down at the 35.
There's someone who's got his thinking cap on right now as Mickey Conn, see his hands over his head, trying to figure out what to do.
I think this will test the confidence of what they're doing with the passing game, but I think it's also going to test their patience.
You know, Grayson is a run oriented team that got three minutes on the clock and my guess is that they feel a little sense of urgency to respond, right?
Let's see who's got it.
Jordan, Germany had it.
He had more than 10.
There's a scramble at the bottom of the pile and it's who comes out with it.
When they get down to the bottom, not who had it when it went in.
McEachern says, they've got it.
And they do.
Another Grayson turnover creates more chances for McEachern.
It does John, this goes back to something.
We also said earlier about, you know as the if the game goes on and things get if against close to pressure moves to the Grayson you know to the Grayson Sidelines.
This is one of those errors this just committed by you know a guy who's trying to pick up extra yards after the hit and the kitchens in there ripping and stripping and doing everything they can to get the ball and they, you know, they're just playing great defense right now, why Two three different guys going after it looks like Glenn.
Frazier number for got it loose and then the scramble at the bottom of the pile, it's pretty much whoever falls on it, at that point ends up with the football and it ended up with McEachern.
Another Grayson turnover, and another chance for the Indians at Midfield.
Another keeper up the middle, cutting it out.
Gulman with the tackle, from behind, down to the 46 and that's an easy seven for McEachern as we come up to two and a half to go in.
The first half and behind that combined behind Ty Clemens right now they're getting yards in chunks.
Yeah, well this is the TOC lemon show.
You know, once again we get a good fake, they run the ball up inside, just enough to keep keep gracing honest and then he comes off the edge and you know it looks like he may be reading that as well.
I mean he's an impressive guy back there running this offense considering who's looking at him at the next level.
He's running the offense, it's dive keeping pitch and he's working second.
Really well so far.
Second down in three.
Fake the handoff, he's going to pass a load up again a lot underneath it too much.
No.
One near You know that's not a bad thing, taking a shot downfield, throwing the ball down field at it's just one more thing for the Grayson defense to think about that.
They'll have to defend And on Third and three, they've got to get about 10 feet for a first down, and it's going to be interesting to see what they can come up with here with yet, another opportunity to get into that Grayson advantage.
Well, McEachern is in there in great position here.
And I go back to when, you know, Grayson ran the ball and fumble, just a few minutes ago that fumble occurred after a 10 yard game, right?
And you know, in this situation, running backs of got to tuck that thing away and protect it at that level and eat you up at the top of your screen whistles and something happened before the snap.
I think I think the kitchen called a timeout, making sure they wanted to have the right play in because I'm out McEachern.
That's their last time out of this house with less than two minutes to go in the first half, the trying to get into perhaps field goal range for Dennis Dominguez or even better if they got six or seven on the board to take the lead over.
Grayson And we keep talking about it, the more that McEachern hangs around and hangs around and hangs around.
Then, you know, it's going to be interesting to see how things play out, someone lingers around, and lingers around, and lingers around.
And you're talking about all of this material, you think about McEachern?
They're just loitering there.
Hanging waiting for that opportunity and they've been getting a lot of opportunities so far today.
Yeah, I think Clements has kept a minute.
I also think that Grayson starting to feel a little bit of the pressure that we talked about, you know, they have so many things to protect when they're on the football field.
And You know, they know that at any point in time, most of the, there's a mythical National Championship out there, floating around, somewhere in their locker room and you know that one lost takes that off the board for you.
Yeah.
And you just hate it when kids have that to think about, but that's all in their thinking and they are here, they read the papers and they, you know, they know what's out there.
McEachern also knows what's out there.
The 156 Mark a third and three two receivers up top.
With the tail for Ty Clemens handoff first down yardage and more down to the 35 yard line.
It's Mike Sherman.
I think this success on this run comes back again.
It comes back to Clemens because you know they have to respect the fact that he can pull it and go at any point in time.
It just puts a little bit of indecision on the part of those defensive players.
In Sherman is having problems tying his shoe at the moment, so that caused him getting late to get out of the Huddle trips up top Sherman at the tail First and Ten at the 35 of Grayson handoff, fake off the key tries to cut it outside didn't happen.
I want you to watch the great play by the quarterback here on the ride.
We call this the mesh point when the ball is in the stomach of the running back, you've got Kim.
Do Chi coming off the edge and see.
You know, a sermon strides in our Clemens, rides him up inside, until can can beat you commit to that, and then he pulls, it comes off the edge.
You should have stayed up in the same though.
He had a lot of yardage their loss of one second 11 Clemens.
Nine carries 112 yards so far on the day back to pass, pressure up the middle rolling and he just gets rid of it is deflected the balls, deflected by Kim d g. As he was trying to get rid of it.
Dimitri is Garner coming to the assistance of his quarterback is Kenichi was trying to get out of that grouping.
That's what lineman do.
They always look after the guy that they're trying to protect all day.
Yeah and good for them.
They've got to North.
Take the end of the play here candy.
She's trying to leave.
Here comes Garner a little bit of a chest bump.
I'm not moving.
You're not moving.
Get away from my quarterback.
I got to help the man up and that'll do it for that play and thanks for dropping by on that particular play.
Make Yukon trying to get Kim do Chi back to the Huddle third down and 11 under a minute to go in the half 56 seconds with a tail.
Once again, dropping back to pass, pressure up the middle and South Zach Barnes coming from behind to get the sack of Thai Clemens taking another opportunity for points away from McEachern.
After another Grayson mistake.
Here's your look well, you see that McEachern is going to Sprint, Sprint, the quarterback away from Kim.
Do Chi and you know the pressure coming from from up inside, it's just too much for them to handle.
I don't know that McEachern is going to be able to Sprint the quarterback and throw deep.
It's a lot of time that you're going to ask offensive lineman to handle those guys up front.
And it's that's difficult to my guess is here, they'll run it out, both teams both teams at this point in time John they want to get to the locker room.
You know Grayson wants to regroup McEachern wants to go to the locker room and build on.
Hey these are the good things that have happened and really the key terms.
Only a couple of mistakes away from being in the lead in this game and got the two -point lead.
Grayson McEachern has been knocking on the door more than once and Kyle Hockman, they've been hanging around and hanging around the.
We talked about what it means to hang around, especially in a game like this, where specifically, you know, everyone in the building is looking at Grayson, everyone's looking at Grayson because of all of the preseason attention that they've got.
And so when you have a team like McEachern hanging around and hanging around, you end up with something like this.
Well, right now it's 14:12 and McEachern has had their chances.
They have had their chances and they didn't take advantage of all of them but yet they're still in the game.
Game.
I think the first series of the second half is going to be critical for both teams.
All right, let's send it downstairs Raven with Coach Hockman.
Hey guys.
Thanks coach and credible.
First half, did you expect this out of your guys?
Be honest.
Yeah we've made a lot of mistakes where young had to burn timeouts and all kinds of crazy stuff but we're going to we're going to keep fighting, you know, there's obviously a great team, but I knew it would be kind of a crazy.
But we're going to, we're going to compete our kids, they believe in each other and believe what we're doing.
You know, God has been kind to us and we got good players so we're just happy to be here and we're going to keep fighting when you go into that locker room, what are you going to tell your guys, to make sure they compete in the second half and possibly pull a big upset over.
Well there's a few adjustments.
We got to make defensively that we've been working on that.
We're going to spend a lot of time working on that and then offensive ly, we just got to move our feet a little bit better and inside interiorly with our alignment.
And I think I think we'll be able to do not do what we want or anything, but but I think we'll have a chance to succeed.
Thanks so much.
You're welcome back to you mark Raven.
Thanks so much.

Nikki when a student does not complete High School, there is a direct impact.
On our economy, our Workforce Development, and on the quality of life in our communities, when a student does not complete high school, they are going to earn at least nine thousand, three hundred dollars less Less per year than a student who does graduate.
In 2011, we had 300 or 31,000 students in Georgia.
That did not complete high school.
We can do better than that.
Our graduation rate is 67 point for we must do better than that.

What can parents of young students do with their young children to really encourage them and get them to complete eventually?
High School?
I mean, it has to start early.
Absolutely all the latest Neuroscience is telling us that the brain is developing at a faster rate during the first five years that at any other time in, Life.
So parents have to be.
So, cognizant of the fact that learning doesn't begin in kindergarten, it begins at Birth and and their, their child's first and foremost teacher.
So, really being aware of the developmental stages and the Milestones that children should be accomplishing during those first five years is riddled really critical for parents.
Thank you so much.

Thank you, Mark, very much, missed opportunities for some great opportunity for somebody else.
We're going to see how it happens.
McEachern has been hanging around but how what happened in the second half the coach and I will have the answers.
When we come back to the Georgia Dome game, two of the Corky Kell classic as we're heading to the third quarter, a slight two-point lead for Grayson.
I hear on the great GPB.
Welcome Back.
Start at the second half.
Getting ready here for Grayson to McEachern first.
Let's send it downstairs to Rayven tirado and Grayson head, coach Mickey Conn coach.
It was a little rough in that first half.
What do you got?
What do you tell your guys in the locker room to prepare for this next half hour?
We got eliminate the mistakes.
We had a loss pill position on a punk.
We didn't catch and then we had two big turnovers defensively.
We got a, we got a place.
I'm at football.
They're Good job running the option.
We got to do a better job playing that.
Thanks coach.
Thank you.
Back to you guys.
Thank you very much Ravens assignment football with the great fakes that we're going on.
We've got a great second half coming up at, tell you what.
Let's take a look at the first half and tell me what you think about, what went down in the first half.
Let's look at the highlights right here and here's the first TD.
Well I think Grayson started the game.
Exactly what they wanted to.
You know, they were running the ball.
We sit inside outside.
What was critical is that McEachern and Talk to him and he responded that they ready to score on the big play on the on the on their first possession.
And I think at that point in time somewhere early in the second quarter I felt like Grayson kind of got out of character, you know they were able to score that second touchdown and then things just kind of went into a tailspin from there.
There's they have the fumble and then you had a lot of people swarming to the football.
It's on her mom and my opinion.
Talk Clemens is Difference here, you know the things he's been able to do with the ball in his hand, he's a triple threat, they've been running the ball inside or outside and any place of off of the touchdown.
Here's your numbers from the first half.
I like the one at the bottom time of possession.
Only 12 seconds difference, it is.
And look at the balance, you know, that you see with McEachern.
I mean, they're, you know, they're throwing the ball, just enough, but they also are hanging in there as far as field position and that's been critical for them.
Total yards, only nine different from McEachern and Grayson two turnovers key.
E as well and McEachern.
Five penalties 47 yards but they'll get the ball to start the second half.
And once again the point that we've made our halftime stats sponsored by our friends at the Atlanta Falcons, by the way, thanks to them Falcons.
Why is up?
We talked about the kichen lingering loitering hanging around, it's always that's that, that won't voice in The Wind that you hear over your shoulder as we get ready for the second half and the next 24 minutes, what's got to be going through the minds of these teams right now?
Well, the Biggest Advantage goes to McEachern because they now believe that they can play with these guys and they're maybe just a little you know, there may be a little bit of doubt in the minds of Grace.
And, you know, hey, you know, we thought it would be easier than this.
This is a young team and they're hanging here with us.
This is going to be really important.
The first two or three minutes of this third quarter is going to gonna tell us a lot, Alex, laughs, and puts his foot into it, and it is kicked all the way down to the two yard, line 15, trying to sweep white getting to the 20 25 27.
Yard line and that is where McEachern will start things.
And this was a surprise, he's out of the shoulder pads and tie Griffin early in the game.
Remember, we saw him at the end of the first quarter limp off and he is now on crutches and is done for the day.
Well, that's going to limit some of the things.
I'm sure that McEachern wants to do but then again you know it puts Clemens on the field for every snap.
So you know you pick your poison if your grace and in that situation my feeling was that You know, when when Clemens started to run the football, it really changed the game.
And Grayson at times has looked off balance on defense, because of what he's been able to do with faking the football off of Right, Guard, right?
Tackle.
Get you two and a half?
Maybe three sets up second and seven.
Did you get the feeling that Grayson was a little surprised with the ability of tha Clements?
Yeah, no question because how many times a year and this is a question that a lot of teams come up with and it's a question that come up with later today.
When Cannon Peachtree Ridge play, if you're not used to seeing a certain offense, how do you respond when all of a sudden it pops up and you haven't had time to prepare for right?
Haven't had time to prepare for Clemens who was listed as the backup quarterback and prepared for Ty Griffin.
Instead instead you get Clemens who's been a master at running an option offense so far, he has He's done a very good job with it, and, you know, you go back to the offensive game plan from the kitchen.
I think they've done an excellent job.
Once again, fake the end around, up the middle out to about the 31.
Maybe the 32, who's your replay gain of 2?
And this is once again, we talked about off the edge up the middle and you see somebody staying home.
Well in that situation the outside linebacker didn't chase the speed sweep, you know, he stayed at home again.
If that's going to happen, you're getting support from your secondary that they may not have been getting in the first half.
Jay Strickland is staying at home.
38 there in the lower right hand.
Part of your screen, getting help.
The big green one, Robert came Dici graciously looking for a turnover here at the, if the balls in the air, I'm sure.
See who flinched?
First?
If it was touch or if it was, it's on the offense.
Let's get the call from the man in the white head.if All-Star gets the offense.
That's five yard penalty.
We're going to stand still have third down third and six turns into third and 11.
Demetrius Garner.
510 290 pounds.
That's a, that's a pretty big boy for that high.
Well.
And, you know, when you talk, when we talk about this offense, with option offense, to have, guys, to 75 to 90, to 60, to 80 to 90 up front.
But that's a big help and I mean, that both figuratively and literally, oh yeah.
Tight end up top three receivers down low screen.
The other way, it is caught 25, when Goldman with the tackle at the 26 of the 27, yard line gain of maybe a yard, it'll be fourth down.
11, McEachern is going to have to punt.
That's exactly what, what Grace and needed to open up.
The second half, they needed to be able to get a three and out here, we see, you know, just a little screen or a swing pass, and Grayson wasn't going to have any part of it.
Nice job on defense Clemens to For the first half for 15 yards hooking up with Mike Sherman, right there.
Rushing stats for McEachern, first half Clemens, 10 carries 106 yards.
If you take the 79 yard touchdown out of that, that's nine 427 Sherman for carries for 22 yards before his injury.
Ty Griffin was one of three, four, eight yards, hunt low spiraling kicked kicked away from anyone.
And everyone, and it's out of bounds, it hits Out of Bounds at the 37-yard line.
That's where Grace and we'll start up for their first possession.
Of the second half a 47-yard punt, no return.
Jonathan what Grayson will do here is go back to what they do best.
You know, they're going to want to try to pound the ball and, you know, 45 yards on first down and put themselves in second.
And third and short, they will feel the need to control the game.
And this is the way they do it.
They just like the found you.
There's nothing I'd like more than to have about 14, play drive and eat some clock, and put the ball in the end zone.
The Alabama philosophy that Mickey Conn got in college, but you still see over in Tuscaloosa, today carries himself over to Grayson football here.
The tier talk about him in a second hand off, right up the middle and that's going to go to Finnell over the 40.
Maybe to the 41 is, do we go back to mcteer version 1.0 where you hand the ball off and make sure that the offense gets into a rhythm first before he tries any passing?
Yeah, I think so.
I don't know that.
We'll see him, throw the ball if any and I'm sure you know we talked about that first game of the season we got to remember this is his and and You're going to make mistakes at that position, he was number three on the depth chart when he started work, his way up to number one and to get the start here in the first game of the season.
Gulman in motion toss sweep, gulman heading, north strung out really well.
And they only get two or three out of it, tackled at about the 43-yard line.
So it'll be third down, five third down, and four for gracing right here.
Yeah, here we go again.
We see the tall.
Sweet.
You know, trying to capture the edge.
I thought mceachran did a nice job with this pursuing.
The ball McEachern defense has been the unsung hero first half.
They gave up, you know, they gave up considerable yards but it was the bin.
Don't break Theory and they swarm to the football.
They're going to have a lot of hats on the football and that usually causes turnovers.
You saw kelp arm right there in on the tackle.
He's got offers from Colorado State and Troy and he's the only starter Back on defense.
Well, that's a remarkable job by coach Hockman, you know, to return, just one starting to be Are they gonna have to get a timeout here again?
We see some confusion within racing offense, two men in motion.
They called the timeout before the motion was called an illegal motion penalty.
And Grayson had to burn time outs in the first half and they're having to burn them here in the second half 8:19 to go in the third and Mickey Conn has to use his first time out.
But of course with a Young quarterback, that's one of the things that you have to keep an eye out for it is but Tom outs in the first half, you know, their luxury time outs in the second half.
You've got to Those things are precious and you got to take care of you.
Hate to burn one on your first series, particularly on mental mistakes, once again you look at McEachern the defense Grayson's.
Numbers material is 0 for 1, in the first half that the offensive numbers.
Russian gulman 6, 444 phenolate 447.
Kandg 6440.
Jordan Germany 7 for 17.
But once again, we see them get all of their yardage from the 30 to the 20.
Right?
Right.
Third and five you know to be interesting to see what Grayson does.
Here.
You know, do they have more confidence in the game of Miller they going to try to get on the edge with you will find out, this would be a big stop from the kitchen.
I've been creeping up to the front room, McEachern, McEachern jumps and they knew it Well, you don't have to do either you just hard count them.
Randy truce down on the jump.
Yeah, mcteer watch the head and saw you saw, you saw his mouth move a little more in north, right?
You have to do and that's what this case is all about, that's great to have veteran players that are used to that.
That's a very disciplined play and and that's an offensive play that hard count.
Good job.
That'll get mcteer back in.
Good graces, with Mickey Wings left and right, tight formation motion.
Gulman gets the handoff tries to cut his way through traffic gets over the 50 down to about the 47.
So a foul for 5-yard, gain their and with once again, first down, not a surprise for Grayson, when they run it, here's another look right.
Gomez is a very good running back and he's going to make you miss.
You see him, take the ball.
Work it up inside makes two people miss and, you know, then it takes three or four to get him down.
Many spot it in between the 47 and 48.
So it looks like five and a half, four and a half on the game.
Once again, that tight Double Wing formation mcteer falling down hands the ball off to Germany, Germany.
Still the presence of mind to get close to the first down marker.
I'm not sure what happened there but usually that's an offensive lineman.
Stepping on the foot of the quarterback, it would be interesting if we could see it again and see if he got a flat tire on the way out.
Yeah.
What happens is the quarterbacks trying to step out and usually have a Lyman that's: bottom.
And when they do, they'll step on the quarterback at times there.
That's exactly what happened.
The left foot of Taylor ride ended up on the tier third and shorten its into another short game for a first down.
Jordan Germany one more time for three.
Yeah.
Taylor ride stepped on a toe mcteer still had the presence of mind to hand it off.
Got the game that created this play, which could create another first down for Grayson at the 40.
Yeah, that's a good point because that easily could have been a turnover of quarterback.
Did an excellent job of, securing the ball and make sure it got to the running back.
And Jordan Germany's going to have to get his tape adjusted off of that right wrist to his, he's out of the ball game right now.
Ares McCall is now in for the Grayson Rams, slot near side two Wings mcteer rolling will throw looking deep as a Target and it's hot down at the 22 yard line safer with the big ground game of 38.
That was a great play.
Not necessarily by skiing but by Quarterback in the receiver.
I think mcteer put the football the only place it could have gone.
We see a skinny post route by the by the outside receiver, and mcteer the places the ball between two Defenders, and that's the only place that ball could have gone.
That's an awesome drug.
Remember those of you who remember from the championship game last year, Schaefer it look good of past but we might have it all called back.
Let's take a listen that would roll down field against the offense.
That's a five-yard Yard penalty from the previous stop.
Push down that wipes out a 38 yard pitch and catch with mcteer and Corey.
Schaefer, you know, the other thing, it does, John, it puts them in first and 15.
And I'm guessing that's a play action pass with the guards, are working up field, you can see him, I don't know if it's left or two left tackle, but he was working up field and got caught second penalty.
Second only 45 yards in the day for Grayson.
Might be solved right here, down to the 10 yard line.
It is Aries McCall.
36 yards on the run, down the near side, and that puts Grayson in great field position.
Let's take another look at this bus, a little cross action off the vertical run, they fake the ball up inside and then, you know, they pulled the off side guard and, you know, the running back.
McCall just doesn't wonderful job of hitting the seam and Hayden Gregory, 50 out, clearing the way and there's McCall coming into your screen going right to left and out of the 10 but that's impressive with the lime into those guys are running downfield and you know they're opening some things up.
Snap one more time.
Great.
Ankle tackle in the backfield, takes care of them.
Call for a loss of about three.
You know, even though McEachern is a little different version of the wing day, you know, during Jimmy's tenure there, they were a wing team football team so they understand Grayson's offense, Henry founder of coming up pigs at the tackle there with the Lost second and 11 second down and goal for the Grayson Rams.
They get the play UConn signal it in mcteer trying to translate and get everybody down Wings near and far with a tailback motion.
McCall one more time with the cut that gets it inside the 5 down to about the 4 yard line.
Yeah.
And it will return.
You just used to cut back is excellent because that's exactly what happens, you know, they're bringing them around on a little reverse play and and then he just turns it right back up inside coming right into your living room.
That's a great play because you take a defense that's running to the football and stretches them and then, you know, you cut it back against the grain, it's a good way to do it, okay?
Some can get the snap off in time.
Too many men on the field from the kitchen, but they got off Wings high and low.
One more time for the Rams hand off, with call gets hit and really get into the end zone.
It's going to be close race and players.
Say yes, he got helicopter just before the plane, but what are they going to do?
He got stopped short, that was a great hit by somebody coming up out of the I'm going to call it just short.
And here's your replay.
Let's take a look at it.
You'll see, McCall will begin its a little reverse cross action and McCall, cuts the ball up inside, but he gets hit a couple of times.
And it's the second hit that actually stops right here at the right there.
Just shy of the goal.
Never got it in.
But in fact, I think you got a general spot.
Mike Sherman.
Let's see what Grayson guys, it's a stack.
Who's going to move?
The pile?
Is it going to move forward for another score when this momentum stopped?
Are we going to do here?
Touchdown Grayson.
You want to talk about big guys, moving a pile back and forth.
It was a tug of war in the trenches for that particular play, but it ends up being 6 for the Rams.
I thought that I thought the job McEachern did here was very nice.
They got up underneath the offensive lineman and you know that was that probably didn't get into the end zone until the last minute X airport by a tear touchdown replay.
Again brought To Us by our friends at tcsg learn more earn more.
Point after by laughing spot, kick up in good graces.
Nine-point lead is back at 2112.
And what we're going to do is take a little time to figure out where vacation goes from here, down 2112 on the great GPB.
Welcome back to the Georgia, Dome game 2 of 5, the 21st, annual Metro PCS.
Corky Kell classic, Grayson leading, McEachern by nine 11:39.
You see the time left in the third, but here's something for you.
It's another great season of Georgia traveler and its new time.
Sundays at 7 on, Georgia public broadcasting.
Watch that David celski guy in the crew as they uncover more of the Hidden Georgia, the maybe across the state or even around your corner, Georgia traveler.
Now, at a new time, Sundays, Seven, followed by Georgia Outdoors, only on GPB.
When I say Georgia traveler travels, the state, they travel the state.
It is true, it is Trenton and all points in between there's scoring Drive.
Thanks to tcsg once again, 10 plays 63 yards, 5:18 and ends up with the mcteer one yard Rugby scrum for the score.
John, this is a very good football game and I have to be honest, it's a little better than I thought.
I, you know, I kind of thought probably like a lot of people that Grayson would be close.
Very very, very impressed with how hard has been teaching teams playing Alex mountain, with the pooch picked up by McEachern at the 25 and that's where they will start to try to answer Grayson's time-consuming project which is a phrase that everyone will use this year, Racing's time -consuming Drive, the Grayson has it their way.
Once again, you see the man who's been in charge, the master of the fake tie Clemens, running the option offense.
Confusing Grayson on defense in the first half and a lot of credit goes to that coaching staff.
You know, van Spence is the offensive coordinator.
He's also quarterbacks coach Van was on Jimmy's staff.
So when Kyle Hockman came in, and it's critical to have coaches that help you in that transition because, you know, that can be a good situation, or it can be a Van has been a great asset to all that's going on with this occasion football program.
And he's done a nice job developing this offense and helped him to develop mr. Clement faked the handoff up the middle Clemens kept it near side, ended up with a couple of yards after getting caught by the turf, they'll spot it at the 27 so they'll give him to Second down and eight.
Once again, we get to see how McEachern responds in this situation.
Grayson has had only a couple of penalties but they've had the turnover mceachin.
Hasn't had the chance to take advantage of it and right there.
What's the name of the plane?
You know, that the offensive coordinator is really going to be in Clemons you the rest of the way here in this tight ballgame 12 carries, 110 yards for Clemens.
Once again up the Middle with the handoff, another couple of yards by Taj Griffin ties younger brother.
It's it to just shy of the 30 in this creates a third and six which is going to be a testing one for McEachern.
This time around.
That is it's that it's that uncomfortable Zone.
You know, do we throw the ball to run the ball?
Athlete third and six, third and seven.
Third and five is maybe one of the hardest calls and Footlocker's, buddy thinks third and long.
That's easy.
Third and long, you're not expecting to get anything and you know most people just see the screen draw or run it three receivers to up top, winding up the outlet screen to the 30 and just shy of the first down marker.
I don't think it's going to be a first down the completion once again to Elijah Van Dorn, but I think they're going to be about half the football short and let's take a look at we see see great team speed here.
The secondary for Grayson.
When that ball was completed, I thought this guy had, you know, an easy first down but the closing speed of those guys in the secondary was very impressive gulman.
Some I Denson and once again, J Strickland coming over from linebacker and this is going to be an interesting call here.
Let's see what happens here with the conversation.
Well, our fourth and short at your own 34 and a half, my guess is coach Spencer.
Want them to be in a situation where Clem?
As run-pass option and box formation power on power.
Let's see what happens here or they try to draw them off sides.
Try too hard cabin and I think this is a wise decision that they go ahead and kick.
You know, they got a close ballgame.
I mean they're they're non down but that's okay.
Come out and teacher that's their first time out.
Yeah.
Why deep in your own end?
Do you do a hard count in to do something like?
Well, I hate you hate.
Ooh, burn the the time out, but, you know, in my book, I think it's a good call.
Here's a reason why, you know, if your partner's, if you're around Midfield, that's a no-brainer, you know, you go ahead and just take the penalty and, you know, but, you know, you only 35 yard line and you only kick the ball 30 yards, then, you know, that's that's not driving them too deep into the, you know, their own territory.
So I don't blame them for making the call right here and then Chase Jones.
Last time out, I think he had a 48 yard punt and once again, Jones has instructions on the day have been to Punt it away from, whoever is back to receive it.
So, whatever Chase Jones is going to do.
If he can get off a punt, whether it's straight on a rugby, it's going to end up being out of bounds and they'll be no net return.
It is.
It is that most of those punt.
Most of those yards have come on a roll to.
He's hitting the low line drive away from the pick-and-roll, me to the right.
And you know which is also a good decision because it pins that return guy to the boundary and the sideline becomes the 12th man for the coverage team.
Let's see what happens here once again.
Chase Jones should be coming out to punt on the fourth and about a half yard at the 34 less than two minutes to go here in the third quarter game 2 of 5.
During the Corky Kell classic at the Georgia Dome coming up after this one Colquitt County, The North Wind North versus South now, that could be a shootout.
That's too high, powered offenses.
Let's see what happens here in the next 13 minutes and 59 seconds.
Jones deep to punt one more time for McEachern, snap is easy.
Low spiraling, kick away from coverage on the Run picked up.
But Cloud at the 43-yard line, keep going to the whistle 31, yard punt, very little return that time by Ryan Carter, but Carter did get it out too.
Close to the 45.
Yeah, he did.
He did a nice job of catching the ball on the run to that wouldn't he?
There's your Russia.
Numbers so far.
Look at the balance, top to bottom.
This is the, this is the office.
This is what Grayson does, you know?
Inside Outside.
They don't have 24 guys, carry the ball quite a bit with a lot of balance and it works very effectively form wears on the flip side, you know, with the future and you see you know you see Clemens pretty much carrying the load.
And that fourth guy is getting his ankle worked on right now but 200 yards, rushing, As a team, but it's very, very balanced all the way across the board inside handoff McCall.
McCall gets past the 50 down to about the 47 yard line close to first down yardage on first down.
Grayson obviously, this was part of their halftime adjustment and they feel like they're able to come off tackle with the cross action and it's worked well for them.
My God, I think this is the fourth or fifth time they've run this play for, you know, very significant yardage.
So once again you see the balance McCall had 44 yards on four carries before that.
Particular caring at another 92 that puts him at 53.
And that's the depth of Grayson's running game.
They'll come at you in waves and when you're tired and the third and fourth quarter, they've got fresh legs and they don't have to use the big green one unless they absolutely need to.
Tight set two Wings wide out up top for the Rams second down, and short yardage, Germany and motion gets the handoff off the sweet first down inside the 45 down to about the 43.
So once again, you're getting 4 and 5 of the way, the creation Works their offense, the four, and the five that you see in the second and third quarter can turn into a door can bust off a big one.
As we get late in the game in the fourth quarter to seal the victory I can and you know to a lot of people who watch football and see quarterbacks in the gun and you know doing all these things for like four wide five.
Why did you know?
This is not an exciting offense but it fits Mickey Conn perfectly and it's It's a winning combination for him.
Close to eight in the Box.
Five on the line of scrimmage for McEachern.
Germany in motion gets the handoff speed.
Sweep running behind right?
Tackle off the edge, being tackled by about seven or eight McEachern guys.
Before he actually hits the turf gets inside the 40 looking to Mark him at the 38.
So it's a gain of six that time as we come towards the end of the third quarter.
It's probably the last point.
So we are in the books for three quarters 36 minutes down 12 minutes to go.
Grayson has had a fight, the Rams have been dancing, but it's been a difficult dance, partner in McEachern.
Aires McCall is help things out.
But right now, racing chases, that National Title 21, 3:12 the fourth on GPB coming up, Welcome back to the Corky Kell.
Classic game 2 is heading to the fourth quarter.
Grayson top ranked in the state top ranked in the country leading McEachern 11:39.
If you want to join in on the GPB Sports Central chat during the game, go to gpb .org/sports ball and hit game, the game of the week tab jumping with hundreds.
I say thousands of other football, high school fans and chat about your favorite high school football team in these games as the season goes along.
And today, here at the Georgia, Dome of the Corky Kell, classic go to gpb.org/ sports ball.
Getting involved in all that newfangled chat stuff getting in Twitter and Facebook, you're ahead of me on that stuff.
I don't do it.
Not too far ahead of ya.
Trying to figure out how to do it.
Yeah, I'm still using a flip phone.
You and me both Grace Olson in charge of all of that stuff down on set and get to talk to Grace and everyone else here on the staff here today, at the Corky Kell classic, start of the fourth quarter, two Wings, handoff fake to Germany, goes up the middle.
Instead, looking close to first down yardage, right about the 34 yard line.
So you're talking four, maybe five.
Let's check to see if they give them first down yardage.
Nope, just inside the 35.
So you're talking length of the football, third and short.
Now, for Grayson Grayson has made a living in the second half running this bug sweep and part of the success.
I'd say a lot of success has to do with, you know, Gregory I watch this guy at Right Guard.
Number 50, and he runs extremely well.
He's causing some problems from the kitchen right now.
You know, at times you'll see him 10 12, 15 yards, downfield out ahead of the running back and keep an eye on 50 as he clears.
The path for Finnell the lone setback to Wings Gregory and motion, Finnell gets the handoff gets the first down yardage and get to about the 27 yard line.
That's his 10th carry on the day in the neighborhood of 53 yards.
McCall also a 53 yards, gulman with 52 candy chew with 53.
So this is about as balanced an attack, as you can get.
It's a very balanced attack of the bustling that Grayson's doing.
Right now is keeping Clemens on the sidelines.
You know this this ball control offense and it's frustrating for McEachern.
I'm sure you know they're chomping at the bit to get the ball back, try to get some points but you know, right now Grayson's doing exactly what they want to do.
11 carries 57 yards for Finnell first downs.
Now 15-6 for Grayson as they have the ball First and Ten at the McEachern, 31 under a minute gone fourth quarter, two Wings, one in motion, handoff up the middle one more.
Time to Finnell gets inside, the 25 gone to about the 24 23 yard line seven yards on first down for Grayson.
That's that's the offensive line.
Great surge up front for them.
They just, you know, basically run a run the ball right up the middle and and you got offensive lineman taking people off the football.
I think they're starting to wear on the couch and right now, This defensive front for McEachern, has been on the field essentially, all of the third quarter, there's the guy who really wants to get off the sidelines and get into the football game but he can't do it.
Unless his defense makes a stop or if unfortunately for them Grace and puts more points on the board.
12 carries 110 yards on the day for Clemens 79 of that on the touchdown.
They got the first points on the board.
Shaking a tackle up.
The middle one more time.
Casey games with the inside handoff.
Now the gains made that happen.
I mean McEachern gets good penetration and gains just makes an athletic play and cuts the ball up.
I thought they had him stopped in the backfield for a loss first, down yardage again, for Grayson slow to get up.
Randy Trousdale.
Looks like you took a shot.
Just below the ribs.
Above the hit bad, right below the ribs.
It's not a convenient spot because there's no padding there.
The future is trying to make some Personnel changes now, and that goes back to what we said.
The defensive front gets tired and this is the result.
Looks like it might have been Mackenzie Billingsley jumping off, sides, anticipating the play, which is another five yards for Grayson.
Which will give them first and five all the way down at the 14.
It's got the confirmation.
Prior to the snap.
We had encroachment against the defense.
That's a five-yard penalty from the previous spot.
It remains first down.
so first in short, from mcteer first and five down at the 14 yard line McEachern holding on Grayson trying to put this game away early fourth quarter, you see the time remaining 9:40 and Counting and regulation, Wings top and bottom with a slot for Grayson Germany in motion.
Once again, the same plate of fennel.
Right off of left guard, left tackle gets a couple of yards down close to the 11 yard line.
So you're talking second down into now in time just Slips Away from McEachern and we're saying that early in the fourth quarter.
And that's the case.
Well, this is where the game slows down Mickey's work in the clock and they'll love, you know, they're not in any hurry to snap the football.
Same formation.
Let's see if it ends up with the same play mcteer getting signals from the sidelines wings.
High and low receiver out wide top of your screen motion and off inside cut inside down inside the 10 yard line balls loose.
Again it looks like another fumble Aries, McCall fumbles at McEachern comes up with it Bend but don't break, you know, there it is again.
I mean they just it's uncanny but they're swarming to the football playing if the pressure comes up with the football.
Let's watch it again.
McCall with the handoff on the inside, trying to make something happen.
And it's pulled out right there.
Yep.
Super play, stripping the ball late in the game, you know, and so many times these fumbles happen, after positive yards have been gained, you know, in the running back fails to secure the ball, and that's the result, the John that happens because nakisha, you know, they've always got five, six, seven, guys, around the football.
Lot of gold hats kelp areum in on it.
Also, that's the third Grayson turnover in this game and we talked about how Mickey was concerned about his offensive line.
And they're inexperience, they're making holes.
But as you talk about things after the play seems to almost be done, that's when they're getting the turnovers and that's when McEachern.
Who's trying to get as fired up as they can right now to make something happen?
Well you saw there the picture you saw shop, the left guard and Gregory sitting together over there.
And those guys are you know that's very frustrating because they work so hard often Sublime and they get very little recognition, hardly any credit, you know, they, they take pride in False start against the offense.
It's gonna be half the distance to the goal.
Still first down, which is only a yard penalty.
Let's go back to your point about the line.
Well, the I like I said that, you know there consolation and all of this is that, hey, we put the ball in the end zone.
That's why I think offensive line coaches are so critical is the only place on the field.
You're trying to get Five Guys to work in, you know, in coordination in unison together, these Grace and guys doing so well but it all starts with those two guards.
I've watched Gregory play all day today, he has great speed for an offensive, lineman good power.
They're very very talented up.
Front ninth penalty for McEachern, 63 total yards.
Grayson only two penalties for 10 yards on the rollout, going for it all some jousting going on off the edge, they're gonna throw the flag, which way?
Is it going to go in the flagstone at the 37-yard line?
Well, that's going against Grace and the defensive back never got turned to find the ball and they're going to they're going to call interference on him.
Denson on the joust on the go route.
I'm not quite sure why he didn't get turned around.
I mean that, you know, they were 20 25 yards downfield, I thought at some point in time, he was going to turn, but I could see the receiver but see the receiver running down the field.
And you'll notice, you know, the defender never gets turned, he never finds the football.
And so, you know, there's the end of the interference.
During play, we have pass interference against the defense.
That's a 15-yard penalty from the previous spot.
It's an automatic first down for the offense.
Clemens, trying to get Malik Williams.
Sprung, Malik Williams is at a very quiet day at wide receiver.
One of the few experienced wide receivers that McEachern has considering that they lost the likes of tre Fletcher, Victor, Brandon and Amba, edit, ow, last year.
So once again a skill position with a lot of an experience that they're trying to work with on the Fly, Snap quick out Williams catches it, out of bounds.
Around the 26-yard line, close to a first down.
Maybe is a first down.
So once again working the sidelines trying to take advantage of the clock 829 to go regulation.
I think this is the question mark about Clemens is how well can he throw the football and he you know, he answers us right there.
I mean that's a good throw.
My guess is I think Grace is probably going to give up some some room underneath just to keep Ball from getting over their heads here.
But, you know, if he could take advantage of that, if they can develop an adequate passing game with his running abilities, in the kitchen is going to be hard to handle this year.
Two receivers up top Clemens, shotgun has some support with him.
They gave them ten, gave them the first down, first and 10 from their own, 20 7 motion near side.
They're going to go speech sweep and down around the 30 yard line Taj Griffin ties.
Younger brother ends up with Three on that.
So it'll be second down and seven.
Well, McEachern continues to mix up their play calling.
You know, they're throwing the ball.
They're outside.
They're inside.
Market to the 30 right on the nose.
And there's little brother, the sophomore, all 510 170 pounds of it.
But he comes to the sideline and minute.
I'm sure they're going to tell them, you know, how you got to get that ball.
You got to get that ball out of bounds going wrong again.
And Malik Williams got sprung for the second day in a row, big game down to the 29-yard line 41 on the pickup.
Well again, you know, McEachern, Sprint's, they're gonna, they're gonna Sprint, Clemens out to his right, and then he throws back, which that surprises, me, I was a sprinter them really right into right into the strength of the grace and defense that he makes a nice throw.
He's got an isolated receiver downfield, who makes a very nice catch dense and tries to get a hand up to deflect, it doesn't happen, the 41-yard gain, puts McEachern and business at the Grayson 29, handoff up the middle for a couple of yards, Mike Sherman just to try to keep them honest it one and a half.
Maybe two.
So second and long for McEachern here it does.
The clocks going to affect the play calling a little bit at this point.
The game went down to 7 minutes and you know, there are two scores away.
So my guess is, I think we're going to probably see Clemens out on the edge or the ball in the air a little bit more.
I've got time to think about it.
They just need points on this drive to get them within one school.
And they've kept Kim, do Chi and check for the most part, they're usually putting two bodies on them and they're trying to make it.
The two biggest bodies.
They can find most of the time.
72, Travis Fair, 77 chumma, a toga.
There's your play action against second.
The 15 yard line to it behind the receiver heading back.
The other way 4550.
He's got a convoy, it looks like it's going to be a store.
Ryan Carter knock down at the 10 yard line.
So a longer term for Grayson on a turnover.
Couldn't have.
Let's look at it one more time.
We talked about the passing Clemens.
Looking got hit just as he threw it behind the receiver.
Carter picked it up at the 15.
Went down to the 877 yard return.
You see him change soldiers?
It looked like he was going to go all the way gulman with the block there didn't get it in time, but down to the 8-yard line.
Yeah, this intersection is Caused by pressure of Grace.
In the sides.
Bring the corner off the edge and Clemens has to get the ball out of his hand in a hurry and he just you know an ill-advised past.
But you see the Convoy with gallman and everybody helping Carter down the sideline, like Now, Grayson's in business, to put this away.
Germany short block, half back position, Kim Dieci.
The handoff powering his way down.
Close to the 5.
The pile will continue to move to the given the five yard.
And that, you know, once again McEachern had their chances had their opportunities but you talked about pressure and that was a turnover that they honestly could not have at that.
Crucial of time they could.
I mean that that's a huge play on the on the part of Grayson and it's one that they needed to make.
I think this game has been good for both teams.
I know great / probably hasn't played the way you wanted to but you know it's a general rule that your greatest progress in the season for high school.
Team is from game one too.
To, you know, McEachern has given them plenty to to work on with tears.
Stuck with the football back at the 8-yard line, loss of 3.
So that sets up the fourth and goal and I'll bring Alex laughing and now for a field goal attempt, but Kyle Hockman said he wanted to use this game as a measuring stick.
You said it was a big measuring stick to use it.
So if it's a measuring stick what should be measured like this Advantage McEachern here with that because they will.
Number one, they're going to walk away from this game with confidence.
Hey, we can play with the big boys.
Boys.
And, you know, it was a mistake that kind of, you know, took us out of it.
Ryan Carter makes a huge play that turns the game around but the fact that McEachern is, you know therefore to have quarters into it, going for it here, third down, do bandar at the 8 yard line.
So now it's 4th and goal at the eight.
Carter, we talked about that defense and what they've had with Banda at Arizona, candy to Clemson, Barnes to Tennessee.
Gulman to Clemson Kumar the Clemson Gaines has an offer from Penn State.
Carter's been offered from Ole Miss and East Carolina and then you have other guys who are deeper in that Grayson roster who are really going to get some good.
Looks, you know, Marquis Motley is a name that Mickey Conn is thrown around is I who hasn't gotten a lot of looks but he's right in the middle of that defense.
So there's gonna be a lot of people getting looks from all around the country.
Alex laughs and setting up now for a 26-yard field goal attempts spot kick up and the neon shoes put it through 26-yard field goal doubles Grayson's lead with 420 to go 11:36.
Grayson has this one wrapped up for the moment but we got four minutes to decide it with Grayson leading by 12.
Welcome back to the Georgia Dome for 20 to go in regulation.
Grayson's doubled, their lead over McEachern, 11:36 Dale's, go downstairs, to Raven tirado Raven, what's the word?
They do best defense.
When Ryan caught Clark, caught that interception.
He built momentum, a fiery defense, and then when they get on the offensive side of the ball, they just control the clock and they do what they need to do.
Much like Mickey cons, alma mater, Alabama, back to you guys.
Thank you very much Raven.
Now it's time for the play of the game brought to you by our friends SunTrust simplify the way you bank and no surprise that this is our play of the game coach.
Yeah, it's a tremendous play and it came at a critical time for Grayson the kitchens The ball down.
The field just came off a big throw that put them in scoring territory and you know, Grayson who's trying to you know just trying to get some separation and some distance gets a big play out of the corner there and again we go back to that and say that you know it's the pressure up front that causes that 78-yard return for Ryan Carter setting up the Alex allowed them field goal from 26 yards, out top ranked team in the state.
The Grayson Rams top ranked team in the country.
The Grayson Rams 2412 and there are things that have worked that they wanted to do.
They run the football five, six, seven yard, average.
But I'm sure that the first things that Mickey Conn is going to talk about in a short week to return to play the sixth ranked team in the country, Miami Central, our turnovers turnovers and turnovers at it.
Yeah, that's you know those things happen early in the season and have to get it turned out.
Pooch kick by Loudon, brought out to the 41, 42, yard line.
So it's got good field position there for McEachern.
I think this becomes a teachable moment for Mickey, I'm sure it will with these guys.
It gives him the opportunity to get in the locker room after the game and say hey I told you you know there's so many things that are out there guys.
But nothing's more important than, you know, the team on the other sideline and a lot of the turnovers that happened today.
They're happening for the right reasons you got guys, you know, extra effort, downfield, five, six, seven, eight yards, but they've got a they're going to have to get better at ball security.
20 yard return by Tre Scott for McEachern.
The junior tight end working his way up and so now it's going to be an interesting test.
Now at quarterback, you see how the hurry up goes with 413 that go Clemens rolling, looking like he's going to throw out route.
Is there the 47-yard line, complete for a gain of five clock still going to continue to go though.
Elijah Van Dorn on the reception, but he turned his ankle trying to cut back to get the football.
Yeah, he did.
That's unfortunate to you.
See him as he makes his cut he rolls it over and that's you hate to see that happen in here.
Let's take a look at it one more time and you'll see him here's the rollout and you'll see the cut and the turn right there.
Yep.
Hike a sprained left ankle in a direction it wasn't supposed to be on the ground picked up by Grayson another turnover in the exchange, Grayson comes up with the turnover and that should do it.
Jay Strickland with the pickup and this was like, picking up a ground ball at second base.
Yeah, so sometimes when you have an exchange, you know, that there's a little problem with the quarterback in the running back, if the quarterback was keeping that generally that pocket is not soft enough by the run back, and it looked like his, his arms weren't completely open to take it.
They weren't, you can see his right arm wasn't open and it says pocket was too small for the quarterback to work the ball engine stomach.
You same time.
But pressure and a couple of other turnovers Jack Bandit coming in from his defensive line position to create the pressure to keep your eyes going someplace else.
Other than the football, handoff up the middle three and a half and Counting regulation.
And if Grayson has it their way, they're just going to run out the clock once and for all Finnell with the handoff that time.
Well both teams will have the opportunity to talk about penalties and turnovers.
You know it'll be a good learning situation for both of them.
Neither team has long to worry about this game because next week they turn around and you know I believe McEachern has got Walton which will be one of your gang.
Right?
That's on our air, the battle, the big chicken, that's the nightcap next Friday night on GPB and then Grayson's got Miami Central coming to the house to big games.
You'll love Mickey in the guys to get together.
They'll probably get with the kids on Sunday or Monday and talk about this for a few minutes.
And then, you know, Your lessons from what they did wrong.
And then here they get handoff up again.
Left guard, left tackle gets another three yards or so.
So you're looking at third down and maybe five for five.
There's mceachran probably thinking what could have been?
That's a good thing.
I mean that's a good thing.
When you see that because these guys are, you know, they're feel like hey we were there with these guys.
We can hang with them.
And and so then what if your Grayson what do you think?
I think for Grayson, I think Grayson understands that they have to focus on On, not just the opponent but also themselves, you know, what got them into trouble.
Today was the second quarter, they had some miscues offensive calls, I know, they were two consecutive plays that make humans not happy with mcteer and you know, they seem to have iron that out.
It just got out of sorts garment on the sweet near side.
Once again, trying to rip at the football that he held onto it, you got inside the 35.
So you're talking fourth and short.
It's going to be an interesting situation because you see Kim do Chi come into the ball game.
Now, for fourth and short.
I'm a little surprised to see him in the game at this point.
You know, we're inside of two minutes and the game is well within hand timeout.
McEachern to think about what's going on right now.
That's their second timeout of the half.
They'll have one left in the last one.
Come on seven catering.
That's their second timeout.
We talk about what's coming up today.
This is game 2 of 5.
What about being three of five want to talk in north-south matchup?
It's going to be a good one.
Colquitt County who was a finalist and a semi finalist gets North Gwinnett.
Who is a stalwart here, at the Corky Kell.
Classic a know, it's when it's got a good you know a good ballclub.
They're going to be young again this year and of course you know Rush Probst is always going to bring a good football team into the Dome.
They're going to be well, prepared that program has really accelerated under his It's 10 years, I'm sure.
Today, they'll be that'll be a fun game to watch.
Now we talked about McEachern and what they're going to be doing next week.
So let's tell you what they're doing.
Next weekend, full graphic, Furious the battle of the big chicken catch, High School Football, starting Friday night, and every Friday night on GPB football Fridays in Georgia.
Next Friday, it's the battle of the big chicken and exciting.
Doubleheader Lassiter, Hillgrove, McEachern and Walton a double heapin helpin of serving, High School football, doubleheader starting at 6 in Six days time August 31st on the great GPB Walton was going to be an interesting team to watch this year.
You know, Rocky's got another good bunch at graduated, a few kids, but that's what's strong.
I could never do anything like that.
That's it.
That's tremendous.
Wow, to be young again, right?
Yeah, I hope you wouldn't try that.
No, no, no, not since I'm 39 repeating, I'm not trying.
Speed, sweep.
Look one more time and wide -open Jordan.
Germany will rock it in and that'll do it.
Touchdown Grayson.
We're going to have a penalty here.
We're getting a Necessary Roughness in it.
It came well laughter, well behind the plug.
34 yards on the run.
Around the right hand side.
The flag is down at the 11, make you kind curious and the officials will sort it out for us.
That was big.
Number one, the maybe a little frustration.
He's got a great motor.
Now, I'll tell you the great thing about him is he, he plays with intensity from Belle, to Belle.
I don't know that they wouldn't after the whistle but it was well behind the play.
So we'll see what they do with it.
I'm going to call the touchdown, touchdowns good.
Here's your replay from our friends at tcsg and once again, speak sweep.
Yeah.
And I played my Kuchar was a little confused on the sign, but there they got outflanked and, and Here's the big green one right there.
Personal foul against the offense, Robert is going to be penalized on the kickoff.
The touchdown counts.
You like it when players are looking for work, but that's a little excessive, it's about 10 yards behind the play.
Touchdown replay from our friends, at tcsg learn more earn more Alex laughing in for the point after to make it 30 1212 for plays 43 yards, just under two minutes and the touchdown run by Germany.
Of 34 yards point after is good.
That makes it 30 11:59 95 seconds in regulation in that looks like Charlie Kong Nicky's.
Father is talking to the Clemson game gulman Kamara and kandg About what's going on out there on the field.
Every some words of wisdom there I'd like to hear that conversation so you've got Charlie has been.
It's been a great that is the Clemson game.
You know, we talk about the Clemson gang and Charlie what he's meant to the program but you see one, plus three, plus four, if my memory is correct.
Equals Clemson there.
Let's see if I'm a math.
If you have one.
Plus three plus four is Clemson.
That's it.
Kenichi camargue almond.
And remember Nick schuessler?
It led the team to the championship last year, initially was going to Mississippi State.
He's now at Clemson but there's been talk is Mickey going with these guys.
And here's what he said, people ask me about it, there's nothing to it.
I think it's normal for the fact that I have three guys committed there.
And Nick just went there.
So people just get to talking.
But no, I have not been offered anything and that was from an interview we did with Brandon Brigman, back on August, 7th and Mickey confirm that in the conference call this week that he has not been asked Thank to join Dabo Swinney staff because they were friends at Alabama teammates at Alabama and they go way back Mickey's quote was you know, he's been a head coach 13 years and then all of a sudden he's recruited you know all these guys and all of a sudden he comes to me for one year and takes three up.
Right.
Right well there's listen there's no doubt that make you concentrate coach and could he could coach at the Collegiate level but I I think that's a natural thing that people begin to talk about particularly in a community like Grayson where, you know, the Last thing that they want is to lose Mickey, he's an awesome football coach and he's an even better human being right.
You know, maybe he's just a wonderful guy, but I don't think there's anything to it.
He addressed it the other day at lunch in a little bit that we were outside talking and he's very happy at Gracie.
What he said was, it's 13 years and it took him 13 years talking con about Dabo Swinney 13 years to offer to one of my kids.
He gets three and loads of the bus with them including Nick schuessler.
So now he's 87 seconds away from getting First win of what he hopes is 1514 more after this week, but the players and parents of that Community are hoping that he's not on that bus, you know.
And I don't think he is Germany from our stat man.
Kevin Barnes great statistic here Germany had 34 yards.
Rushing on 11 carries in the balls loose again.
Looks like they come up with it and they lose its crumb who's got it racing, her McEachern.
This is where, you know, I hate that you know, glad we don't have instant replay in high school football but at the same time that fumble, I'm pretty sure was caused by the ground and has learned another thing to add it.
Yes, here's the end.
Great effort by Clemens is he's going down and right there.
There it is caused by the ground.
But you're getting back to Jordan, Germany, real quick, 11 carries 34 yards before the touchdown, which was a 34-yard touchdown.
So, now he's at 12 and 68, so that puts him five and a half, six yards, a carry just like everybody else clock down to 70 seconds.
Now, McEachern, trying to put more points on the board down.
19 rollout, complete down to the 30.
25 down to the 23.
Yard line.
Looks like rejean With the catch senior, wideout has been active today on a couple of different aspects, special teams and on offense.
And once again, you're talking trying to get points on the board before the clock hits zero because you never know what can happen.
That's like Tha Clemens has established himself with McEachern of questions.
The guy you know the ability to do several things really well, fade route doesn't go that time once again looking for rejean right found in.
Once it was good found in twice overthrown down to 48 seconds.
Now, And now it's second down and 10 from the Grayson 23.
Clemens rushing 13 carries 124 yards, passing 8 of 10 for 89 yards.
So he's accounted for 213, yards of total offense for McEachern today and it's going to be interesting especially with the injury to tie Griffin.
We saw him at the end of the first quarter come up, limping off an ankle about how things now change for McEachern.
When we see them next week on GPB.
Well, you know, we we certainly, you know, hope that the Griffins okay and he can get back, but I think this has been a big plus for McEachern and for a young team that's trying to answer questions in the first ballgame that, you know, that position right there.
You trigger guys is probably the biggest question mark that you always have and it's almost caught in the end zone for a touchdown.
That's a terrific throat.
And that's the first I Griffin right there.
TJ ramming was The receiver.
But there's there's Griffin and once again, will show you the play with Clemens looking for.
T.j. raining right here.
Clemens throws the ball very well.
Now, the ball is on the money right?
Between two Defenders and very well, could have been six neat Peters on the interrupt right there to keep it from being a completed pass.
So we're looking at fourth down and seven last chance for McEachern to get out of the first down or try to get some points on the board.
20 seconds to go ball on the Grayson 20 dropping back, Clemens, scrambled sack.
And there's your exclamation point courtesy of Marquis montlake.
Six 1225 Motley comes crashing through and here's your last shot.
No model is one of those guys that has generated a lot of interest, he hasn't been offered, but I think that he will down the road.
It's been a good game to watch, you know, watch him plays.
He's he's very good football player and he and Sherrod the center for McEachern of.
You know, they've gotten to know each other very well today.
McEachern calls timeout.
It's their last time out of the day with 15 seconds to go.
So David mcteer will come out one more time for Grayson.
Grayson and McEachern represented themselves.
Very, very well today.
And here's something that you can hang your hat on all season.

Grayson with the win 31:12, Mickey Conn, shaking hands.
I'm sure part of him is glad that 60 Minutes are over as he gets to shake the hand to Kyle Hockman, but it also gives him a lot to work on.
In six days time they do it's going to be a short week for both of these guys but they do get a lot from this game.
They've both played extremely well at times.
And then at times, you know, there were things that popped up that they'll work on.
But I think we can certainly say that McEachern is Has answered a lot of questions.
There are team that we you know, young coming into the season and you know they grew up in a hurry today.
Let's go through the running numbers for now 15 for 71 yards.
Jordan Germany 12 468 Aires McCall 7 of 67, Wayne gulman 1056 balance, top to bottom.
Kim do Chi, get seven carries in there for 43 yards.
So you're looking at 280 yards on the ground with Five Guys as they put 31 points on the board, but they still had three turnovers they did.
And, you know, Those points up quietly, you know, it's a running game that just you know, you watch it.
It's very methodical, but they do things very well and signed to catch up with Raven and Robert do Raven.
Hey, thanks guys Robert.
Congratulations on a win, but that was a rough first start.
Do you think the teacher was gonna give you that tough of time?
Oh no.
So I know my mom.
They do, they'll do a lot of research on me, which made it really complicated for me to make my place.
But, you know, a great, great coach is a great coach staff and I did a lot of things.
There's somebody down because they had to have the fourth Hello option, Place fullback, go to had to take on the quarterback course.
I did a lot of research on people struggling a little bit, but we cannot sing a half of the good.
And I did real good offense to come into that second half of what was Mickey cons message to you.
And the team.
He's at stopping too much.
Let's go stop thinking, who would think, way too much.
I was gave them time to weave my fashion, but we can stop it but we we start playing fast and second half started picking up.
I read stuff.
Well, thank you so much.
You're welcome back to you guys.
Thanks very much Raven, not coming up on the GPB tailgate party.

3112 your final score.
