Rent is due this weekend. For those who can't pay due to COVID-19, local governments have put evictions on hold for months. But many of those protections are set to expire in the coming weeks. Plus, there are now more than 28,000 cases locally since March, with more than 550 deaths. To our east, Imperial County is now approaching 10,000 cases and 200 deaths.
