Local health officials are cautiously watching an uptick in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations. San Diego's cases are expected to pass 12,000 this weekend, with more than 350 deaths since March. At the state level, a budget plan to fill a $54 billion deficit is expected to be passed by the state Assembly. Spending cuts will be made to courts, colleges and state worker salaries.
