>> THIS AFTERNOON, GOVERNOR WOLF PUT IN PLACE A STATEWIDE VOLUNTARY SHUTDOWN OF ALL NONESSENTIAL BUSINESSES.
>> THIS IS NOT A DECISION I TAKE LIGHTLY AT ALL, IT IS WHEN I AM MAKING BECAUSE MEDICAL EXPERTSBELIEVE IT IS THE ONLY WAY WE CAN PREVENT OUR HOSPITALS FROM BEING OVERWHELMED BY PATIENTS.
THIS DECISION WAS MADE IN CONJUNCTION WITH OFFICIALS AT ALL LEVELS.
EFFECTIVE AT MIDNIGHT, ALL NONESSENTIAL STORES ARE TO CLOSE IN PENNSYLVANIA.
AS WELL AS BARS AND RESTAURANTS, EXCEPT FOR TAKE OUT.
THIS ALSO INCLUDES FACILITIES AND PROGRAMS FOR SENIORS DURING THE DAY.
ESSENTIAL SERVICES, INCLUDING MANAGEABLE SERVICES LIKE TRASH COLLECTION, GROCERY STORES, MEDICAL FACILITIES, ARE TO REMAIN OPEN.
>> THE UNPRECEDENTED ANNOUNCEMENT CAME SHORTLY AFTER NEWS THAT THE NUMBER OF CONFIRMED CORONAVIRUS CASES IN THE STATE HAD JUMPED AGAIN, INCREASING BY 13 CASES SINCE SUNDAY, BRINGING THE TOTAL TO 76.
THE NEW CASES INCLUDE SIX IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY.
MONTGOMERY HAS 30 CASES, MORE THAN 39% OF THE STATES TOTAL.
THE SITUATION IS IMPACTING BUSINESSES LIKE BONES IN CONSHOHOCKEN SMALL BUSINESS CORRIDOR.

PEOPLE ARE SHOWING THEIR GENEROUS SIDE.
>> TENET RUNS CONSHOHOCKEN ITALIAN BAKERY ON JONES STREET.

>> WE SAW A NEED IN OUR COMMUNITY.
WE WERE HEARING STORIES OF GROCERY STORES BEING OUT OF BREAD PRODUCTS.
WE ARE A MANUFACTURER OF BREAD PRODUCTS IN OUR COMMUNITY.
WE DID NOT WANT SENIORS, OR THOSE AT RISK, LEAVING THEIR HOME.

>> EVERY BUSINESS IN OUR COMMUNITY IS CONCERNED, MOST OF THEM HAVE PROCEEDED TO TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS.
>> JOE BUCCI OWNS BUCCI JEWELERS ON THE WOODRIDGE PIKE.
HE SAYS HE PLANS TO APPLY FOR A DISASTROUS ASSISTANCE LOAN.
LOANS WERE MADE AVAILABLE LAST WEEK BY THE U.S.

>> SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS MAY APPLY FOR UP TO $2 MILLION IN DISASTER ASSISTANCE LOANS.
STEVE DREXEL IS THE EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA DISTRICT DIRECTOR OF THE S VA.
PBS 39 ASKED HIM IF THERE IS ENOUGH IN THAT PART FOR EVERYONE.
>> AT THE CURRENT TIME, WE BELIEVE THERE IS.
IF YOU HAVE BEEN OR EXPECT TO BE FINANCIALLY IMPACTED, YOU MAY WANT TO BE PROACTIVE IN CONTACTING YOUR BANK, LENDER, AND SUPPLIER, TO DETERMINE WHAT STEPS CAN BE TAKEN TO MITIGATE THE IMPACT.
>> SBA DEPUTY DIRECTOR MICHAEL KANE ADVISES BUSINESS OWNERS GET THEIR LOAN APPLICATIONS IN RIGHT AWAY.
>> THERE WILL BE AN ONLINE PORTAL A BUSINESS CAN GO ON TO SAY TO SUBMIT INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR BUSINESS, THE LEVEL OF IMPACT AND SO FORTH, AND THEY WILL BE ABLE TO WORK INDIVIDUALLY WITH A LOAN PROCESSOR, TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH THEY WILL QUALIFY FOR, AND WHAT THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS WILL BE.
>> BUCCI PLANS TO KEEP HIS SHOT SHUT DOWN FOR THE NEXT WEEKS OR MORE.
HE SAYS HE IS ALSO CONCERNED FOR HIS CUSTOMERS.
>> I AM WORRIED ABOUT MY BRIDE.
I AM A BUILDING CUSTOM WEDDING BANDS FOR DIFFERENT BRIDES.
ARE THEY GOING TO STOP THE WRITINGS, ARE THEY GOING TO HAVE TO RESCHEDULE, OR ARE THEY STILL GOING TO GET MARRIED?
I DO NOT WANT TO LET ANYBODY DOWN.
I HAVE TO LISTEN TO WHAT IS GOING ON, THOUGH.
>> PIXEL SAYS THE SBA'S GOAL IS TO HELP SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS SURVIVE THIS TOUGH TIME, SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS.
>> WE WANT TO WORK WITH OUR STATE PARTNERS AS WELL AS OUR FOLKS WITHIN OUR SBA LOCAL DISTRICT OFFICE, HERE IN EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA, AND OUR PARTNERS ACROSS THE STATE, TO ENSURE THAT, AGAIN, OUR STAKEHOLDERS AND LENDERS HAVE ALL OF THE IMPORTANT INFORMATION THEY NEED TO MAKE WELL-INFORMED DECISIONS.
>> RECORDING IN CONSHOHOCKEN, I AM MAKING FRANK.
