But I also do visual arts and I perform and I teach tap dance.
And two, before I even really was familiar with the term multidisciplinary artist, I was a multidisciplinary artist.
I've never been able to just silo myself to one thing, and I used to think that, Oh gosh, I'm cheating this other discipline that I love by by sharing my time between these different areas.
But as I've grown and matured as an artist, I've realized that these different areas feed into and off of each other.
And if I take one away, the others actually suffer.
And when it comes to costume design for theater, you're really trying to figure out what are we trying to express in the story?
What role does the costume play?
Because everything you wear communicates and you're really trying to get into the story and then get into the characters.
Like what would they wear?
What is going to make this come together?
