Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship- There seems to be institutional appetite for shares of marijuana companies.
Do you need to have federal legalization for mutual funds and pension funds and others to buy in or is that already happening?
- I think that's starting to happen now.
I think people have been watching the industry for a few years now and I think that with the current events, as we've mentioned, with the election results people are now getting a sense that it's time to start thinking about actively investing in the US marketplace, as you know, or you may not know, but we've been, most institutional investors have been precluded from investing in US cannabis companies which sounds contradictory, because we're actually growing businesses in the US, but the US institutions can't invest in us and I think, we don't believe that you're gonna need full federal legalization, deschedulization to be able to start banking.
There are a couple of pieces of legislation that have gotten through the House, that have to now go through the Senate for the Safe Banking Act which would allow US banks to participate in the us cannabis industry and we believe there could be some guidance coming out of treasury that would allow US institutional investors to get into the space as well.
