March 31, International Transgender Day of Visibility, is meant to raise awareness about transgender and nonbinary people, and call attention to their contributions. It also focuses on the high levels of discrimination, poverty and violence the community faces globally. In NJ, the backdrop to the day is an ongoing fight in Trenton over a bill that would codify gender-affirming care into law.
