That's been great because it's just I'm not around like, a ton of people and I can just you know do what I do from there.

You know, I've still been able to play some gigs you know.

And it's a fine place to be based out of you know?

It's quiet, stars are really pretty at night you know?

So I wrote like, 10 songs just kind of on a whim.

I picked up my guitar and I was playing and I was like, trying to write like Neil Young sounding kinda like, guitar you know?

"Dead Man" stuff.

Ended up writing these songs and then recorded them in Turkey with my friend Charlie Stout in this like, grocery store that used to be a grocery store.

People just use it for storage now.

But it had this great sounding reverb.

So we just set up some mics in there and you know, went for it, but.

Those were written this year you know kinda all in a couple of days but they're not really like there's not a whole lot about the pandemic.

I try to stay away from things like that you know?

But it all happened during you know, this year so it's like, you know bound to be influenced by that you know?

By what's going on around us.

Everything I've been able to do has been like, outside, like private events.

Like we just did a show in Denton kinda the "Burnout" album release show and it was at this place called Harvest House and they have a really cool outdoor stage and it, you know, the sound is killer.

But everyone can kinda spread out and you know, it's not in your face inside of a small room or something.

And people drive there from other towns.

And it just feels good and it feels you know, okay.

And the people there that work there and are, you know, the community that's they are great you know.

Everybody's just so cool.

We stand there and it's just quiet.

And you can hear animals like, in the distance and you know, just the wind.

You know, it's kinda romantic I think.

And people are always in the market for that you know?

So Turkey's a fine place to do it in this part of the world.

I'd recommend it, highly recommend it.

It's just like a really sparse record you know and it's like, vocals and guitar in a room you know.

But it's still, we got a bunch of cool noises like, from people driving by because it was looking out, you could see the main street there in Turkey.

So we got a bunch of cool sounds so it does need a little bit of mixing and stuff you know but I think it's cool you know.

It will be fun to put out this really quiet thing after releasing like, "Burnout" which is just you know a noisy you know, baby.

Yeah it's, I mean it definitely is like, the most like, going for that like, loud like (chuckles) riffy, you know, let's see what I can get away with here.

Or you know, try to do here.

That was fun, it was fun to work on those songs for sure.

It feels like so long ago.

And it's crazy to just have it be out but like I said, it's nice to have this other thing I can just be like, this is cool you know?

This is representative of what I've been up to for a little while.

And it's nice to play with my band like, whoever it is, wherever you know?

And to not be able to do the things you love obviously sucks.

But you know, we'll get back to that.

In the meantime, I wrote this album of like solo songs that I just played today so.

You just gotta stay busy and keep moving forward and one day we will rock again.
