And that tops today's education news.
According to the National Student Clearinghouse, Kentucky experienced an overall enrollment growth of 5.6% between fall of 2022 and fall of 2023.
That was the highest in the nation.
Kentucky was ranked second nationally in undergraduate enrollment at five and a half percent and fourth in graduate enrollment at 4.9%.
The state also ranked first and undergraduate enrollment and second and graduate enrollment among states.
There a part of the Southern Regional Education Board.
The president of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, Erin Thompson, said the data strongly suggests Kentucky was prepared and one of the first states to recover from enrollment decreases caused by the pandemic.
The Kentucky Board of Education is asking for feedback as it continues the search for a new education commissioner.
It's looking to fill the position vacated after the former EDD chief Jason Glass stepped down back in September.
The board said it wants input from educators, administrators, families and members of the community.
Feedback can be submitted through a survey on the State Board of Education's website.
The surveys will close February the 16th.
