That building and how they put it together is unique.
And we don't want to disturb in any way the authenticity of it.
We're standing near a boundary of the town of Old Brule, and Old Brule was formed in 1887.
Our group is dedicated to preserving the history of a region that this windmill then becomes then kind of a portal into Old Brule coming on Highway 13.
This building had been up since, well, 1904 or five timeframe.
He did build this actually after being here like 20 years.
I mean he finished it and he had long wanted or something like that to serve his community.
There's differences of opinion as to what should be done here.
And we've gotten the state involved to some degree their efforts would be as to tell us what we can't do if we want to maintain the National Register of Historic Places status.
My argument has been that the authenticity is in the patch, okay?
And if we can duplicate their patching efforts, which have preserved the building till now We need, that's all we need to do.
