Robert De Niro on 'The Irishman' and his prolific career

“The Irishman” was one of the most critically acclaimed films of 2019, receiving 10 Academy Award nominations. An epic of American organized crime and political life in the 20th century, it was directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Robert De Niro, who helped point Scorsese to the book that inspired it. Jeffrey Brown sat down with De Niro in New York recently to talk about characters and craft.
