#### The governor says COVID is "escalating" in Kentucky.
Today's positivity rate tops nine percent, and hospital cases have increased more than 20 percent in the last week.
The state says it hasn't found any cases of the COVID omicron variant yet in Kentucky.

Senator Mitch McConnell is criticizing some Senate Republicans willing to shut down the government in order to defund President Biden's vaccine mandates.
Senator McConnell told Fox News there's no reason to do it, since the courts are likely to strike down the mandates anyway.
McConnell also says he's confident Congress will reach an agreement to keep the government open.
The deadline is Friday midnight.
