A study published by JAMA found that from 2013 to 2019 the suicide rate went up 47% for Black males between the ages of 15 to 24. It was up 59% for Black females in the same age group. Deirdre Allette Asiema son, Darren Clark Jr., died by suicide five years ago, weeks after his 24th birthday. She is dedicated to helping others who are suffering, their family and friends.
