Thank you for joining us for Last Call I almost said next up but I did not I thought you almost said your turn I honestly did right well I was thinking of all the things we have to uh wish people okay uh yesterday was Christmas so Merry Christmas and Hanukkah started happy Hanukkah uh today happy Kwanzaa that begins today.
Today's boxing day, next week will be New Year's that's all the time we have for this show thank you so much hey uh we're going to do a predictions for 2025 why we do this Wendy I don't know because we don't exactly bat a thousand no we do not but nonetheless uh would you share a prediction for 2025 I think that Cara Spencer is going to win uh the mayor's race I I really do and um I had an experience downtown last Friday and heard I won't say where but um heard from a few employees of the city how unhappy they were because as we all know they do recognize us all when we go out and that sort of there's a a familiarity there and so so that combined with all of the coverage of all of the problems I just would not be a bit surprised if Carol Spencer wins this time around I I wouldn't be shock do I do think the May will hang on and it's surpris surprising to say hang on you know you think you should win by Landslide I think she'll hang on I I I still think there's not a ground swell to change at this point in time and you know I think she can run a good campaign we didn't talk about it but you know Murder raate is down crime is reportedly down I know people don't may not believe that but the numbers you can just I mean she's got a campaign to run on I think it'll be successful I I think so too I I would guess that as an incumbent she she's going to hang on the problem she faces it one of the things is we had so much money and there's nothing to show for it yet and and I think that's a tough nut to crack well I think that's why I'm going to go with Wendy on here in a in a tight race because uh incumbents are tough to beat but I also think we're in a mood obviously in the country incumbent doesn't necessarily mean a good thing Joe Biden was an incumbent Cory bush was an incumbent I think there's a certain dissatisfaction amongst voters overall and I think Bill's point is is very important this money that I always thought was hanging on to was going to make a big splash right before the election all it seem to has done is cause more problems this sldc money which the post dispatch has written about then you move with that with grants coming through the building division that St Louis magazine and KSDK have reported I mean everybody's reporting about and not just a little problem where you caught one person keeping $100 out of a check we're talking what seems to be possibly systemic corruption and I think the mayor has to shake that and I think that allows Caris Spencer to to have the bully pulpit I mean you know I mean there's the old Axiom that no politician is ever more popular than on the day they're sworn in and I don't see what Tashara Jones has done to where it's I have pulled this up by the bootstraps or anything well I will say one thing an important figure is what Alvin mentioned I mean as of today 148 homicides in the city of St Louis compared to 160 at the end of last year and that's going in the right direction especially when you consider I think during covid one year we had 260 homicides so that number is way down and I'm surprised the mayor isn't touting that a little I'm sure I'm sure that Campaign Will well if she gets money and I think Cara Spencer is going to have a easy time getting money from people like Bob Clark and Ron kvy and a few others I I I mean I think she'll be able to afford and I also think the Business Journal has pointed out repeatedly how many businesses have left the city so it you know it it's I'm not great at math but it seems that one would be connected to the other not just businesses but also a large number of North St Louis residents mostly African-American have left that could that percent back could her not say black people just vote for black people well I'll make a prediction and that is that Dennis hanock will hold on to his job I I agree with attorney Joe Hogan who represents Diane Valente that there is going to be a new prosecuting attorney and whoever that is is going to drop the charges against Diane Valente in the new year and I think uh that Dennis Hancock will will prevail that uh actions by this prosecuting attorney to remove him will not be furthered by the successor well I I also think it's interesting that the new prosecuting attorney is probably going to be Melissa price Smith and I think she is an UPG I think she's a better than Kurt van a a and and I think she would be an upgrade from Wesley Bell and that would mean that Mike Parson has given the city Gabe Gore who's an upgrade from Kim Gardner and is given the will have given in the county a successful prosecutor it makes you wonder about elections I mean you know because I don't think Gabe Gore was going to run for circuit attorney I don't think that uh Smith was going to run for prosecuting attorney so it's all kind of ask ask Jackson County what they think about the governor right about now well I I think the thing is is that that's a good point I think and also he he he also I gave us Andrew Bailey so I'm not well and it goes on things but I I think the the part that that people who are of the democratic persuasion are loathed to admit is Mike Parsons was required by law to appoint Democrats he appointed Gabe Gore and he appointed Melissa price Smith and they're two excellent choices and I don't think people want to give him credit for that because it falls on the Republican Democrat lines Republicans won't say a good thing about Democrats and Democrats won't say a good thing about quickly real quick um I just see this in my crystal ball gas is surge way past $4 at sometime in 2025 I think if we don't care about other countries around the world these other countries are going to remind us let me make a financial prediction then so the people can go out and invest on what Bitcoin oh boy I think I don't know anything about Bitcoin and I'm not buying one I wouldn't uh know it if I saw one but I think that Trump is become a big Bitcoin guy and the Bro blogs are bitcoins so if I were more of a Gambling Man I would take the money out from under my mattress and buy some Bitcoins I think the Cardinals are also another another prediction I think the Cardinals are also going to be struggling again this year actually my prediction has to do with the Cardinals but I think quietly everybody's expecting nothing from them I think I won't say they'll make the playoffs but I think they will actually have a winning season 500 winning season quietly under the radar with young players my haven't our expectations been lowered I think people are thinking they're going to be in in the cellar I think they're quietly going to do better than people think I hope well thank you for those predictions maybe we we should erase this tape and uh not look at it ever again thank you so much for joining us we'll see you next week
