The county seat of Piscataquis County is the town of Dover-Foxcroft, also its largest municipality. Nearby Peaks-Kenny State Park is located on the shores of Sebec Lake, one of Maine's largest. Moosehead Lake, the Appalachian Trail, the southern end of Baxter State Park and other outdoor destinations are all nearby. Also the Piscataquis Valley Agricultural Fair is in Dover-Foxcroft.
