In 1969, Duke and Laurel Wagoner opened Down Home Leather in downtown Mount Vernon, where they sell their handmade, hand-tooled leather goods. From carpet bags and purses, to belts and keychains, the Wagoners – along with help from their son Allen – carry on the trade that has spanned four generations of their family.
