I'm sure they're wonderful and terrible all at the same time.
I'm one of 32 first cousins.
Lots of aunts and uncles, which means you're gonna have some strange ones in there.
I had this one uncle, rest in peace, who we didn't see very often.
He was, sort of, a rambling man.
One Christmas I hadn't seen him in three or four years, and he--about eleven o'clock.
I was probably ten years old.
We were eating some cinnamon rolls and talking about all the great presents that Santa brought us.
All of a sudden he comes barreling down the driveway in an old beat-up station wagon full of toys, like the second coming of Santa Claus and Cousin Eddie.
Now, this was of note because he'd never given me a single thing in my life up to this point.
So, he comes out.
He gets out of the car, all 6'5", 140 pounds of him.
He gives us all these presents, and we think he's the greatest uncle in the world that day.
Then he goes out on the back porch to have a cigarette, and I see my dad follow him out there, and my dad looks pretty upset.
What I didn't know then that I know now is at the same time he owed my dad a bunch of money, so he goes out there, and he says, "What are you doing showing up on Christmas giving my kids--buying my kids all these presents?"
He takes a long drag on his cigarette, "I didn't buy your kids anything.
I stole all that-- See, his buddy was the manager of the Little Rock Toys R Us.
On Christmas Eve they went shopping.
True story.
I don't know what your family is like, but right now you're a part of this family.
