Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan pleaded not guilty this week to federal charges of trying to assist an undocumented immigrant evade arrest during a hearing in her courtroom last month.
>> Our court systems must not become a tool of immigration enforcement.
>> Rallies in Madison and Milwaukee this week voiced support for Judge Duggan.
Duggan was charged by a federal grand jury for knowingly concealing a person for whose arrest, a warrant and process had been issued, and for corruptly endeavoring to influence, obstruct, and impede the due and proper administration of the law.
In a motion to dismiss her defense states this is no ordinary criminal case, and Duggan is no ordinary criminal defendant.
It goes on to argue Duggan has judicial immunity.
