We're pulling everything out.
The library actually approached the garden program almost a year ago and said that they wanted some help with this outdoor space.
We put our thinking caps on and decided that native pollinator perennials would be a great way to still serve the ecological purposes and be low maintenance.
And then up here, we'll have native edible berries.
We're hoping to get it all done tonight.
There's so many unused green spaces in urban areas that could have great ecological benefit to wildlife, to humans, and we just have to be a little bit more intentional about how we're planting them.
The Duluth Community Garden Program applied for a grant with Love Your Block.
Not any one person that is responsible for this effort.
There are a mix of employees and volunteers here today.
We're all responsible and can share in the beauty that results from it.
