Hi, I'm Michelle Miller, co-executive director of the Armory Arts and Music Center in the historic Duluth Armory under restoration.
And we're so excited.
All the activity and the progress made there's the construction trailer is outside and will be here for probably another 18 months.
So there's interior and exterior work happening.
This is a $58 million project.
We've invested $12 million as the Armory Arts and Music Center.
We've received grants.
We're at about 80% of our project funding.
Armories were built 50% for National Guard and military purposes, and 50% for community use.
And since it was built in 1915 and it has served as a refuge for the fire.
The Moose Lake fires back in 1918, the last living of Civil War veteran, 1956, his memorial service was held here and there was car expos and wrestling matches and music, music, music.
We want to have open galleries and receptions and celebrate the arts of all kinds.
It will be open for ticketed events and for public events.
And you can go to our website.
There's a donate page, and we're really looking forward to bringing it back to the community.
