It's turned into a thing where people are like, kind of like guest farmers or farm curious, and they get to hang out with the chickens.
Jason Amundson, a farmer with locally laid egg company.
And here's our chickens at our farm in Wrenshall, Minnesota.
I have to give the credit to my wife, Lucie.
It was her idea.
She heard about a book store in Europe where you can work in the bookstore, but during the day.
And you can spend the night above the bookstore.
It's kind of that experience of working, owning a bookstore.
And she thought it'd be a good idea to turn it into chickens.
So it was an opportunity for people to play or pass on the farming experience.
They can be as involved or not involved as they choose.
We get people coming from all walks of life.
More often than not, they've never been on a farm before.
They have never, ever seen livestock in person.
They have never, ever once seen where an egg comes from.
Theyre used to buying them, but the actual process completely unfamiliar.
So we've seen some really cool transformations.
We've seen people who are very hesitant to be around animals, to be super confident with it.
We've seen people who, are very timid.
That's changed.
Pretty soon within a day or two, especially with kids, they're out picking them up.
They've changed their tune.
But the beauty of chickens is that they're safe.
They're very accessible.
We couldn't do this with bison.
Right.
