I needed a hearing aid.

The right one in the right side, left one in the left side.

I just, didn't have good luck with my other ones.

And these ones feel comfortable already.

We decided to hold an event in Grand Portage where we know that there is a lack of not only health care in general, but a lack of hearing health care.

1 in 5 Minnesotans are living with hearing loss.

And, it takes people a long time to address their hearing loss.

Our hearing screening specialists thought it might be a great idea to have the Miracle-Ear Foundation come up here, in collaboration with the Sioux community to provide a free hearing aids event.

When people receive hearing aids, it means that they can not only reconnect with their loved ones, but maybe it helps them in the workplace or helps them go back to school.

For them to see an audiologist, that's a three hour trip to Duluth and you know, transportation is an issue.

The weather, you know, the cost for fuel.

I haven't heard anything for so long that it just was remarkable.

Just it just shocked me.

Oh my gosh.

I was standing there, listening to the sisters share their story, and my eyes were filling with tears as they spoke.

My ears work.

Nice.

Mine, too.
