This grocery store, first and foremost, is about food equity and food access.
My name is Toussant Stewart, I'm the community grocery clerk here at LNPK Grocery.
We chose Lincoln Park because LNPK grocery is a part of Ecolibrium3 which is the nonprofit who basically launched LNPK Grocery.
Ecolibrium3 has been serving Lincoln Park for I want to say, the last 10 or 15 years in a variety of capacities.
Right now over 40% of our residents, shop for groceries weekly at a gas station.
This is a registered food desert.
And one way you solve, a food desert, one of the solutions is having access to fresh, and nutritious whole food.
Our Eco3 Urban Farm, which is right up at Lake Superior College.
They prepare the food and then they ship it to us.
We're very close to opening.
So we're asking people to, watch our social media.
We will be blasting it out to regular media.
And of course, you can get, updates by signing up to our newsletter at www.ecolibrium3.org.
It just means generation of children growing up knowing they have their grocery store.
