Working at a store like Walmart is not easy.
Especially right now, there is a lot of stress.
There is a lot of fear.
You have pressure from your clients, you have pressure from the job.
It is very hard and very tiring.
It is very difficult.
But you know your responsibility and you know what you have to do.
When people say I'm an essential worker, I don't feel like an essential worker.
I like to be part of a solution.
Someone who contributes, someone who helps.
That fills me with satisfaction.
I can't wait for the company to give me extra motivation.
I don't have that because there isn't any.
My family waits for me stuck at home.
I'm the only one who has been working for all of these months.
My kids run to greet me, and I remind them that I have to shower and then I can hug and kiss them.
Once I've disinfected, I can spend time with my family.
My faith and trust is completely in God.
This trust grew after the shooting at Walmart.
I didn't go in that day.
I was supposed to be there.
The attacker entered the store on the side where I work.
It hurt me me so much.
Every person who lost their life here.
They were my clients.
We would catch up every time they visited.
That day I learned how much I value my co-workers.
If we haven't learned anything from this situation, then what is the pandemic all about?
I consider it to be another test.
It is up to us to be well.
To take care of each other, to respect each other.
It is my responsibility, it's your responsibility to be well.
