A bill named after Chicagoan Emmett Till awaits a signature from President Biden.
President Biden is expected to sign the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act into law any day now. The legislation designates lynching as a federal hate crime. Illinois Congressman Bobby Rush, who sponsored the bill, says he’s happy to see it finally pass after more than 200 failed attempts.
