I like to save old buildings and I like to run parties.
So it was kind of the perfect, perfect place for me.
I'm Matthew Unzeitig and you're here with me at the Harbor Theater in Two Harbors, Minnesota.
It was built in the late 30s, there was a fire that burnt the whole inside, and it looks like, everything but the walls got replaced.
It sat for a few years because it was during World War two.
it was rebuilt in the 40s, they showed movies and shows for all the way into the 70s and even into the 80s.
It must have been VHS tapes that took them out originally.
I've been in the entertainment business as a hobby, karaoke deejaying for years, and then I run live sound.
I also do construction.
this place was in pretty rough shape And there was a for sale sign in the window that I guess had been there for years.
The place is open for anybody who wants to use it to run their own event.
I don't charge anything.
So it's just, donation based.
we're totally volunteer run.
Any money we take in pays the bills and if we're lucky that month it covers that.
You can sponsor a movie.
We have a catalog of like, 8000 movies to choose from.
the long term plan is for this to be run by a nonprofit, potentially have it own the building someday.
The world needs, places for people to gather and experience things together.
