Torrence, Janvier: Bar Lorraine.
Get descriptions of the three men.
Cavre, Lapointe: follow up with the locals on CCTV, both Batille and the three guys from the bar.
Janvier had a description of the killer from Gino, the crepe seller.

They're connected to Antoine, and they've clearly got some kind of job going on.
Plus, Mila's a killer, and he left the bar just two minutes after the kid did.

We rotate them, detective to detective, asking the same questions, until one of them slips up.

They killed Batille, but didn't take the item that connected them to the crime?

CAVRE: Actually, Zizou, it was me and Inspector Grosjean that made the arrests, not Maigret.
We're actually just interested in the motive for Batille's murder.
So Batille was known to the thieves?
We don't want to speculate.
Chief Inspector Maigret, can you tell us if you're pursuing any other inquiries in the Batille case?
Thanks to the excellent work of my colleagues, we are close to identifying Batille's killer.
All lines of inquiry still remain open.
