Dan: And Michael met his brother for the very first time.

Dan: DNA tells us who we are and where we came from.
Following their own DNA, four teams are racing... [Jerica screaming] ...to win $50,000... Yeah, baby!

♪ ♪ Dan: It's Day 6 of Relative Race with our three remaining teams spread out throughout the south and eastern parts of the United States.
Team Green is currently in New Orleans, Louisiana, Team Black is in Cayce, South Carolina, and Team Red is in Montville, Connecticut.
With Team Blue out of the race, Days 4 and 5 have passed with no strikes given, but a strike is back on the table today with $50,000 still on the line as the teams prepare to meet more family.
♪ In Montville, Connecticut, Team Red, Michael and Austen, took first place yesterday on Day 5 and met Michael's brother, Dwayne.
Dwayne: To have my brother and my niece and know that there's more to come, it's enriching.
Well, thank you and Sheila for your hospitality.
It's been a...
I mean, it's been amazing.
It's good to see you.
Anytime you want to come through, I'll give you a key.
Michael: When you can look him in the eyes and shake his hand and give him a hug and say, "Hey, brother, how are you?"
And that's the first time you've ever been able to say that in your life, it's a forever moment.
I don't know where we're going next, but it's, I'm excited.
♪ 800 miles to the south in Cayce, South Carolina, Team Black, Joe and Jerica, are leaving their cousin Adam's apartment after coming in second place yesterday.
Joe: Well, that was short and sweet.
Today we now have the possibility of getting a strike again, so there's that factor too.
I think it puts a little bit more pressure.
But there's literally five ways out of Columbia.
Joe: So while I'm trying to get organized, Jerica and Adam are working on directions for the day, which is really great, but I need some help with the car.
All right, it's... Do you have like a bungee cord thingy to hold this down?
We're enjoying this, actually, Joe.
We're having fun just watching you.

Jerica: You're welcome.

Not being organized isn't an option for me.
I just can't function when stuff is a mess, so we don't have a choice.
Even if it affects our time today, we have to get organized.

Apparently it's a big book with maps but it hasn't really been that helpful, so.
♪ Dan: In New Orleans, Team Green finished in last place yesterday but met Paris's cousin Ria and her sister Chiquita.
Preshious: We slept pretty well last night.
I know he was staying up a little bit talking with them and we're feeling good today and ready to get Day 6 started.

Paris: We're coming off of a third-place finish but today, anybody can get a strike, so we definitely have to be on our game.
♪ Oh, hold up.

This is-- They're telling us where we need to go.
Joe: Jerica, do you have any more trash?
Oh, hey, I got a text, Joe.
Preshious: "Good morning, Teams, "and welcome to Day 6 of Relative Race.
"Team Red will be going to Milford, Connecticut.
"Team Black will be traveling to Anderson, South Carolina.
"And Team Green will be traveling to Houston, Texas.
Michael: "Today's first-place winner "will receive a five-minute phone call... "or a Day 10 benefit.
Your time starts now."
No!
I'm not ready.
♪ Bye!
[honking] ♪ It's Day 6 of Relative Race.
All of our teams continue to race along different paths in the eastern part of the United States, each in a different city, each looking for new family, all of them still searching for the finish line in an undisclosed location.
At the start of our race five days ago in North Carolina all of our teams surrendered their smartphones and all use of technology in exchange for paper maps and flip phones, no GPS or Internet access.
Now they're headed to new cities.
When they arrive, they must take a selfie to prove that they've made it, successfully complete a common challenge, and find their relative, each in a different allotted time.
The team that finishes over their allotted time the most will receive a strike.
Three strikes and you are out of the race.
Get ready for Day 6 of Relative Race.
♪ We are on Day 6, we got four more days left, so... Houston today.
Houston, Texas.
For the first time.
Michael: Let's do this thing, Aus.
Back-to-back wins, I think we can do it.
Feeling good.
Joe: Right now, Team Black is very neutral playing ground.
We're not doing super, super great, but we're not doing awful either.
Dan: Joe and Jerica, Team Black, are traveling today from Cayce, South Carolina, to Anderson, South Carolina, with a total allotted time of 2 hours and 27 minutes to finish their driving, complete the challenge, and find their new relative.
Team Red, Michael and Austen, are on their way from Montville to Milford, Connecticut, with a total allotted time of 1 hour and 6 minutes.
Team Green, Preshious and Paris, are racing from New Orleans, Louisiana, to Houston, Texas.
Their total allotted time is the longest of the day, at 5 hours and 4 minutes.
♪ Joe: Should we go off the grid and just start being not as cute and nice to everybody?
No, I think we're still cute and nice to everyone.
Like I-- Really?
Because now Team Red is getting back in business.
You know what I think they think now, that you know, you gotta take Team Red seriously because they've got a strategy and they're in it to win it.
They're trying to win.
Like, I know they love us and we love them, but at the end of the day, they're going to do everything they can to outdo us.
Like I don't know when to kick in to the whole, like, competitive mode or if we do.
Maybe we don't.
I just, like... At some point, like, this is a competition.
Dan: And of course, you can't go into competitive mode with a dirty car.
Okay.
We need a car wash. Do we have to?
Yes.
I-- This-- I can't do this car anymore.
It's got bird poop and pollen everywhere.
Jerica: Joe decides we need to stop while we're on the clock to get a car wash. Give us the ultimate.
Wait, what do I do?
Do I just drive into it?
Are you lined up?
I don't know, it didn't tell me what to do.
I've washed my car by hand with that wand thingy before but I have never been to a car wash that is automatic.
What does that mean, green?
Like as in "drive"?
Whoa.

Jerica, what do I do?
Do I drive through it?
I have no idea.

Jerica: Back.

So we gotta kinda be way aware.
So we have four more days.

Okay, we gotta get our energy up, Jerica.

Dan: With all teams now approaching their destination cities, their first objective is to find a city sign and take their selfies.

Austen: [reading messages] Buckle up!

[sings "Buckle Up" to the tune of "William Tell Overture"] Get the phone ready.

[camera shutter] Joe: How does that look?
Jerica: It's great.
♪ [reading message] Okay, let's go.
♪ [grunting] Michael: We pull up to the challenge.
I see these headphones and I have no clue what's going to happen.
I hope it's name a song.

Dan: Day 6's challenge for all teams is "What?!"
Standing five feet apart from each other, teammates take turns wearing noise-cancelling headphones.
The person without the headphones will be given various phrases to speak while the teammate with the headphones has 30 seconds to guess what is being said.
When teams correctly guess 15 phrases, the challenge is complete.
The allotted time for "What?!"
is 10 minutes.
Michael: What I was hearing in my headphones was a large crowd of people.
Unicorns are pretty scary.
Almost.
Paris: So I start off with the headphones and I'm attempting to read Preshious's lips.
You and an orange?
This is going to be harder than I expected.
Unicorns are bright and scary.
[bell dings] Yes.
Paris: You can... order... [buzzer] Go, go, go.
♪ Dan: Team Black finally arrives at the challenge and gets off to a rough start.
Okay.

[buzzer] Jerica: Come on, come on.
♪ Reading in a library is loud.

[buzzer] Michael: This is a pretty intense game.
With stuff going [crackling noises] in your head.

[ding] Paris: It took us a little while to get in the groove, but it seems like Preshious actually did it a lot better than I was.

Paris: I felt like we got through it pretty quick.
It definitely isn't one of our best performances.

Paris: So now we're headed to our relative.
Hopefully we can get there and make up some lost time.
Preshious: But Red Team still has the advantage of having up to 12 minutes off of their time today, so even though we felt like we did well, I don't know if that's going to be good enough.
Austen: We have eight spare minutes from yesterday, so we're super excited about that.
Oh yeah.

[chanting] Dread the red.
We finally get into a rhythm and we're able to get 15 correct.

♪ Dan: With their challenge now complete, the search is on to find their relatives.
Team Red, Michael and Austen, are in Milford, Connecticut.
Team Black, Joe and Jerica, are in Anderson, South Carolina, and Team Green, Paris and Preshious, are in Houston, Texas.
Preshious: Searching for our relative's address at first seems intimidating, but we're navigating well so far, so I think we're on the right track.
Michael: Let's find somebody that we can talk to.
Hey, do you know where Rogers Avenue is?
In a world post-losing-by-one-minute, we don't want to get out of the car.
We want to ask as many people as we can while we're in the car.
Hey folks, would you know where Rogers Avenue is here in Milford?
♪ Jerica: We find a police officer and ask him for directions.
He does not know the exact address, but he tells us that there are two streets named James Drive.
James Drive!
Whoo!
Good job!
Jerica: Wow.
Joe: Oh.
Okay.
We find one sign that says James Drive.
Oh.
This is not creepy at all.
No way.
No-- What?
Jerica, that's not even a road.
But it's not even a paved road and it seems like it's going nowhere.
Jerica, this is not safe.
So we back out of there and keep looking.
Sir, do you know where Rogers Avenue is?
Asked a couple of people and the third person that we asked knew exactly where we were going.
Can you say that one more time?
Stop sign.
Man: Go to this flashy stop sign.
Austen: I asked him like four times to repeat himself just to make sure that we were clear because I'm thinking here this guy knows exactly where the road is, but if we mess this up, who's going to know next?
Stop sign, take a right.
Did you really get that, 'cause I did not.

I thought you were writing all that down.
That's why I kept asking him to repeat it, but you were kind of like rushing him and saying "Okay, got it," but we didn't have it.

I don't know what to do because we're in the middle of nowhere and there's no one to talk to.
Jerica: As we're driving down the road, we're noticing more and more farms, we're noticing that we're getting further out in the middle of nowhere and Joe is worried that we're going to meet a farmer.
I'm a little concerned because all that's out here is like farms and fields, like who on earth are we going to be meeting out here?
Is Rogers Avenue this way?
Rogers Avenue?
I think it was up in there.
These are houses.
These are going up, you get what I'm saying?
No, you're still not getting it.
♪ I have a real quick question.
Do you know where James Drive is?
So then we're able to stop and ask for more directions and eventually we find the correct James Drive.
Michael: Hey, folks, would you know where Rogers Avenue is here in Milford?
We didn't write these down verbatim, but between the two of us we surmised what he meant.
We're not there yet, but I'm smelling Rogers Avenue.
If this is Rogers Avenue coming up here, we're rocking this.
Not bad at all and then we get eight minutes off of it, so.
Michael: Stick to the plan.
All we know is that it's on this road, turn.
We're on Rogers Avenue!
Michael: All right, what's the name?
Austen: He was looking at the side streets and I said, "THIS SAYS WE'RE ON ROGERS ALREADY!"
Dan: Team Red and Team Black are both able to find the correct streets to their relative's address, but Team Green is still on the hunt.
I think it was up in there.

These are going up.
You know what I'm saying?
Michael: All right, what's the number, 35?

My grandmother just adored Anna because she's like the older big sister.

Michael: My grandmother Anna Barrs is a wonderfully sweet, sweet woman and my aunt Jenny, her sister I know well because they were best friends.
We grew up in Florida.
We were high school sweethearts and we've been married 15 years and we've been traveling around in the military.
Most of our career thus far has been in the South.

We felt like they were genuinely excited to meet us and we were excited to meet them.
And then we've got some other people that we want you to meet in the back down to the lake so we want you to change into your swimsuits.

Jerica: Okay... Susan: Yeah, we're going to have fun!
♪ Dan: As Team Black prepares for their next water adventure of the day, Team Green has finally located their relative's address.
Preshious: Right here, right here, right here.
This is the driveway?

♪ [knocking] ♪ Hey guys, how you doin'?

Man: When I opened the door, I didn't know whether to cry-- It was so much emotions, you know, going through my head.
Hey, how's it going, man?
I'm doing good, and you guys?
Paris: I'm good, man.
So, uh, who are you related to?
I'm related to Preshious.
How are we related?
Through your father's side.
Your father is my uncle.
He's your uncle?
Oh!
Preshous: Good to meet you!
It's good to meet you two as well.
My name is Andrew Betancourt.
I work as an in-home supportive service.
What I like to do with my spare time is make music and play with my son.
Preshious is my first cousin.
Her dad is my uncle.
Preshious: Wait, my father is your uncle.
Yes, and my mom is your auntie.
I'm her husband.
Nice to meet you.

Preshious: It's good to meet you.
Great to meet you, too.
It's a blessing.
Andrew: What's going on in my head right now just meeting Preshious is just like, it's you.
It's really you.
You're, like, really standing in front of me.
It's like a dream that you don't want to wake up from, but it's real.
He says he remembers me.
He remembers my name.
I don't even know what questions to ask.
I'm excited to meet someone else on my dad's side.
I'm trying to put together how it goes.
[sighs] Paris: I mean, how close were you to--?
Very, very close.
Paris: Do you remember him being around her mother?
Yeah.

Back in the days, though.
Preshious and I used to play at the park.
Her dad used to bring her over.
There's times where I used to go to Preshious's house and trick-or-treat with them and her mom.
We used to have fun when we were little kids.
You were like, I'd say, like, three?
I was probably like two.
Preshious: How old are you?
I'm 27, and your birthday just passed.
Happy birthday.

So we're only a little different apart.
Andrew: Yeah, we're only two years apart.
Yeah.
Everything was stressful when she got placed for adoption, but we were looking for her.
When I found out that I was going to be able to connect with her, I was shocked because 25 years done went by, it's like I finally found my cousin, and if anything from this point on, okay.
♪ Dan: As Preshious draws closer to her cousin Andrew, Michael is about to see his grandmother in an entirely new light.
Hanging out with Michael and Sara today was great.
Mike's grandmother and my grandmother are sisters.
I do have a few interesting pictures of our grandmothers when they were little girls.
Is that right?
Michael: So this is them as we would've remembered them.
So on the left is Anna, on the right is Jenny.
Mike: That's right, that's Aunt Jenny.
Michael: She raised me quite a bit.
We lived real close.
We see pictures of my grandma Anna that looks exactly how I remember her.
Michael: And then that's Anna.
She's obviously about eight years older and then Jenny is just a little squirt.
On the far right is Josephine Wozniak.
She would have been their mother.
Austen: And to see her as a child was just really special.
Michael: Being able to trace that line directly from me to him through those photos, to put those faces and those lives in the mix with us helps to instantly link you together as family.
I remember your grandmother Jenny as my grandmother's best friend.
They were very, very close.
We would go to Aunt Jenny and George's house and they would just be talking the whole time, and oh, Charlie and George.
Michael: Finally meeting him and getting to just have the time to spend with him and talk to him and learn about his life and his family, uh, was just amazing.
It was just a really wonderful experience.
So far on this trip, I've met a niece, an aunt, a sister, a brother, Austen's cousin, and you're the first people I've met from my mother's side.
Wow.
That's incredible.
It's fascinating.
So, in light of the fact that you have found all of these new relatives, we actually brought with us a family tree that we can look at and see how we're all connected if you guys want to come over here and look at it.
♪ Michael: One of the high points of the day was definitely pulling out the family tree, clearly being able to see how we're related and then how we're related to all the other people in those trees, so I'm here.
And I'm here.
So we're on the same generation, so that's pretty cool.
There's me and there's Austen.
Yeah, you know, I look at and see where we are on the tree but I had no idea that those branches just go so far.
It's amazing.
It's fascinating.
Austen: For sure.
And we are identifying people who we definitely know while still seeing people who we don't know and who we'd never heard of.
My father passed away in 2004.
I had just gotten back from Iraq.
He had Crohn's disease.
He had a heart attack pretty young and he passed away, unfortunately, and then my mother passed away more recently in 2010.
Michael has lost both of his parents and I've lost my mother, so we especially enjoy relationships that we've been able to form with some of these extended family members, even family members we've met later in life makes it easier to get the big picture.
It's also fun to be able to show our kids later on down the line an illustration of it all.
And to see it all spread out and see all these different connections, it's-- That's pretty impressive.
♪ Susan: Our South Carolina lake.
We're proud of it and we'll just kind of do some things, show you what we do on Sundays.
Jerica: Okay, yeah.
Joe: It's beautiful out here.
Susan: We love it.
Jerica: Today we met our cousin, Susan, and she immediately took us down to the lake and we meet Susan's son and his wife.
This is my son, Timmy, and Heather.
You wanna go for a boat ride?
Jerica: Okay.
Joe: That would be awesome.
Jerica: That'd be great.
This is such a cool boat.
Joe: Then next thing I know, we're out in the water and they throw out this tube thing and they tell us to get onto the tube.
I've never been on a tube before.
It just seems like every day we're doing first-time experiences.
Susan: Y'all will balance each other out.
It'll be fine.
Jerica: So Joe's face is a little panicked when we get on the tube.
Joe: I've never swam in a body of water before, like a natural body of water.
Are there jellyfish?
Are there sharks?
Like, I don't know what's about to happen.
It's a lake.
There are no sharks.
Joe: Oh.
[boat engine] I think Joe was a little nervous 'cause he said he'd not done it, but he was pretty cool about it.
♪ Joe: It was literally seconds before we were just having a blast and enjoying our time together.
Susan: Wanna go faster?
We went along and Joe was doin' this to go a little faster, so he made it fun.
They were cute.
They were both back and forth on the waves and they were having a good time.
♪ Jerica: The family started cheering us on and we felt like we were doing such an awesome job at staying on that tube.
♪ Joe: It was just the perfect activity to do all together.
♪ Dan: Meanwhile, back in Milford, Connecticut... Mike pulls out his computer and he starts showing us video of him flying his Blackhawk and it is the coolest thing.
Mike: So dude, this is-- This is you actually flying this Blackhawk?
Yup, this is me in 2015 in Kuwait.
We're in the Gulf of Arabia.
Mike: That's what he does.
He goes out and saves people.
They actually practice picking up people that are, you know, in the water, floating around.
Michael: You know, when your Navy guys fall off the boats, we're the Army guys who are there to pick them up.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, this is us practicing.
We need a lot of practice.
You make a good lifeguard.
I appreciate that.
[laughing] He got a little jab, Navy guy falling off his boat, and I was like, yeah, you know.
Everybody needs a lifeguard, so, you know, at least you always have a job.
[laughing] That's kind of our favorite pastime as service members is poking fun at one another.
We do different things and we all do them well, but we gotta take the jabs when we can get them.
Have you ever seen like a Blackhawk up close?
Uh-huh.
No.
We can go check one out right now.
Really?
Icing on the cake, he says, "Hey, do you guys want to go see a Blackhawk?"
Of course we do!
♪ Michael: This is it.
Welcome to my office.
Austen: This helicopter is way bigger than it looks in the sky.
Michael: So this is-- This is one of our Blackhawks.
Mike: Wow.
Overwhelmingly cool.
We can get you suited up.
Yeah, man.
I can get you strapped in.
Hook me up.
All right.
I didn't know that we'd be able to get suited up and actually put on the helmet and get in the cockpit.
Very cool.
Boom.
There you are.
Oh yeah.
We're ready to go.
Let's climb in.
Top gun.
♪ Michael: Welcome to a Blackhawk.
It's a little overwhelming at first.
You know, it's kind of paint by numbers, explain to him how to fly in three minutes or less.
It's just like your car, like you have your dashboard, you got your radio so that you get your jams on.
I guess you don't have engine control so much.
It was a blast to get him out here and see his eyes get big at what an awesome machine this is.
Mike's got a pretty cool job.
This is pretty neat.
Michael: You're scientifically proven that you're better-looking sitting in the cockpit of a Blackhawk.
Mike: Well, I probably believe that because... [makes shooting noises] It looks pretty awesome.
He's serving our country proudly and well.
It's amazing.
Austen: It's so cool.
I can't wait to go home and tell my children, "By the way, your cousin flies Blackhawks."
[pensive music] Dan: Back in Houston, Texas, Preshious is about to see pictures she has never seen before.
So, guys, have a seat.
Got something I wanna show you guys.
This was you and your rabbit.
That was you at like four years old.
Preshious: [whispered] Oh my goodness.
Paris: Wow.
Andrew: This right here was you at a baby shower when I was in the belly.
And that's you, that's my big brother, but that's you at like four years old.
This one is me and my big brother and my mom, when I was a kid.
Preshious: Wow.
Andrew: And this is you and your brother, Devan, in July 31, '96.
Preshious: Looking through each photo that he's handing me, it just feels like me and my brother were really loved.
We were cared about.
And this last one, this one right here is my grandma, your dad, my auntie, my mom, and my big brother.
[whispered] Oh my goodness.
♪ That's him.
Andrew: Yeah.
That's his mother, two sisters.
First picture of her dad.
Preshious: Like, it's good to see him.
I don't think I look like him.
I look like my mom.
That's because you look just like your mom.
You just got features of him.
I hope I get to meet him.
I hope I get to see him.
I'm happy to have a picture.
I'm so happy.

Preshious: My motivators.

Good things to hear about him today.

Every day there's another piece.
Andrew: I know, I just thank God that you're here.
Ever since you were taken away or whatever your case was, that's what he wrote.
You were always his motivator.
You were always his Preshious.
That's what he would always tell me, at least.
It feels like we were special to him.
Yeah.
So good to see these pictures.
That's all I can say, this is amazing.

This is a lot.
It's finally a picture of my dad, and to see his writing on that picture was everything.
He was working for us.
He was-- we were important to him.
We were special to him.
By getting that extra reassurance and seeing it and hearing it, it's-- it's great right now.
♪ [intense music] Austen: We know that strikes are on the table today and we've already got one under our belt.
Joe: I definitely feel like we have a strike on the line for tonight, but you never know how it can go.
For some reason, I'm very nervous.
I'm not as confident about the overall results of today.
Austen: I want to have the opportunity to meet as many relatives as possible because this is our family and this is such a cool experience to get to do with Dad and I know it means a lot to him, too.
Mike: I really appreciate it.
I really look forward to-- To seeing the other teams at the end of the day.
It's like a-- there's closure and it's relief all at the same time.
Dan: The sun is setting on Day 6 and the results are in.
With only four days left in the race, a strike is back on the line for our three remaining teams.
Who is one step closer to Day 10?

Day 6 is now rapidly coming to a close here on Relative Race, and you are more than halfway through the race.

Was today another good day for you, do you feel?
Yeah, I think so.
We've been having great days and meeting great family.
Dan: Joe and Jerica, you guys had a really dirty car.
You guys did a little extracurricular activity.
What was that?
That's right, we decided to get a car wash. Like, we didn't have a choice.
[laughs] Jerica: If the inside looked good, we need to make sure the outside looks good too.
Because Team Black has to look good.
[laughs] Dan: Okay.
And Paris, how did you guys do in "What?!"
Preshious, um, I'm used to her speaking fast, you know, normally.
[laughs] Paris: This challenge was just like, "What?"
[laughs] But, uh... Preshious, she-- she killed it.
Let's go ahead and talk about who you all met today.
Joe and Jerica, you guys just keep having these really cool relatives that you're meeting.
Yeah.
Dan: Was that another case today?
Yes, absolutely.
We met our cousin, Susan, and she instantly took us out to the lake and we got to go water tubing, which was a blast.
Michael, for you, you have been having all these revelations, all these wonderful connections on your father's side.
Today, it was different, but was it equally satisfying?
Absolutely.
I met my cousin.
His grandmother and my grandmother are sisters.
Dan: On your mother's side, though.
Mike: On my mother's side.
His name is Michael as well, and this is his wife, Sarah.
Mike-- This Mike is a Blackhawk helicopter pilot.
What?
[echoed] What?!
That's what I said, too.
For the United States Army, proudly serving and defending our country.
Keepin' it in the bloodline.

Dan: That's cool.
And they're beautiful and they're wonderful and Austen and Sarah clicked and it's-- We've all as a family, it's just another awesome, great, positive, uplifting, wonderful day.
Dan: Wow.

Preshious, you seemed like you had a lot on your mind when we started this call tonight.
Can you tell us what you discovered?
It's so much.
Every piece is something I never knew.
You know, meeting another relative today was my dad's nephew.
He has pictures and he shows me them.
Dan: You saw photos of your dad?!
I've seen one photo.
I've never seen him before and it was just great to see his face and to hear about him was even better.
And that's amazing in itself.
That's so cool.
Preshious: It's indescribable.
I've just felt like the long-lost child and I keep hearing, "We were looking!
We were looking!"
And to hear it after days and days, nights and no one got it...
They didn't understand.
[cries] Just the picture is enough.
[sniffles] Dan: Preshious, when you started this journey, you didn't know anything about your biological family.
You have discovered so much and sadly, you discovered early on in this journey that your mother had passed away.
Do you know if your father is still with us?
Uh, yeah.
He says he's still alive and I hope I get to meet him.
Um, 'cause I wasn't able to meet her, um...
So, yeah.
I hope that gets to happen, but I'm happy for the picture by itself.
I'm happy for that, too.
Dan: Preshious, thank you for sharing this journey with us.

And to all of you, what a tremendously satisfying day it sounds like you ultimately had.
Preshious, you've gotten your first nugget, if you will, now, of knowledge about your dad for the first time and I cannot imagine how that must be for you, but we can feel it, we can feel it.
And I can tell you this, that Michael and Austen, Joe and Jerica, and everybody here on the show is really happy for you right now.

Michael: Seeing Preshious say that she saw her father's picture for the first time today really struck a chord for me because I can totally relate to what she's feeling.
It doesn't take a lot to get attached to these other teams because they're going through the same things that we are.
It's weird because it's like we're all cheering for each other, which makes zero sense.
Like, we all want to win, but we all want each other to win, and that's kind of winning, you know?
Like, that's the beauty of it right there.
[music intensifies] Dan: Well, there has to be a first-place winner every day and there has to be somebody that receives a strike every day.
Team Red, you have one strike.
Team Black, you have one strike.
Team Green, you have no strikes.
Things went pretty well for all of you, and yet, each of you stumbled at some period during the day.
Now, I want to keep in mind that whoever finishes in first place has that choice to make between a Day 10 benefit or a game benefit that could benefit you the next day.
And that next day benefit is a five-minute phone call to anyone you want to call at any time during the day.
The team that has to make that decision, finishing 18 minutes over their allotted time...
However... since they also won yesterday, Team Red rolled the dice and got eight minutes deducted from their time, so your real time after your eight-minute deduction was ten minutes over your allotted time.
It was a good day.
Dan: And so I ask you, do you choose the five-minute phone call tomorrow at some point during the race?
Or do you choose a Day 10 benefit?
Okay, game day-- I mean, Ta-- Ugh.
Day 10 benefit.
A Day 10 benefit.
Wow.
You're kind of throwing down a statement there.
You plan on being at Day 10.
So, who picked up the strike today?
Team Black or Team Green?
Finishing 29 minutes over their allotted time, and still without a strike, Team Green.
Team Black... Wow.
Dan: You finished 41 minutes over your allotted time.
You have received your second strike.
However, every day is a new day.
You've surprised everyone on this show one time.

Finishing in second place, Team Green is still without a strike.
That is not the case for Team Black, who finished last and received their second strike.
One more and they will be out of the race.

Mike: Great, let's check it out.
I don't know what to make of it.
But maybe you do.
Mike: [laughter] Austen: Michael pulls out the Day 10 benefit and it's a photo of Camille, my cousin, Dad's niece, who we met on Day 1, and it has some facts about her, some of which we knew, some of which we didn't know, and we really have no idea what it means.
I don't know what it means, but I'm sure it's gonna come in real handy.

And the joy that we've shared with our new family, so-- The thought of not meeting two relatives is what's the most disappointing about possibly getting a strike tomorrow.
Team Red won again and while today was a good day, I am a little astounded.
Two days in a row ain't bad, but we're going to stay humble because pride comes before the fall and we're just trying to meet more relatives.
Seeing a picture of my dad for the first time was very powerful for me.
We have to finish this race so I can find out if he's out there.
