Dieters chased him through his brother's farm and sent harassing voicemails and texts to his sister in law.
A judge sentenced dieters to 270 days in jail, but he won't serve time if he avoids violating a protective order and doesn't contact his nephew, brother and sister in law for two years.
Dieter says this will not affect his campaign for governor.
