In 1948, Art Institute students organized their own show called Exhibition Momentum.

After the Art Institute declared the 1948 Chicago and Vicinity exhibition would be “limited to professional artists,” the Art Institute students joined with peers from the Institute of Design and organized their own show, which they called Exhibition Momentum.
