Eggs are expensive. So is raising your own chickens. We visit a farm to find out why.

We’re all spending more for groceries these days. Prices are rising faster in the store than ever before, even on the basics like a dozen eggs, which costs twice as much today as it did a year ago. And some local shoppers are also finding egg shortages in some stores, despite North Carolina’s ranking as a top ten US egg producer. Why are egg prices are so high, and egg supplies so low?
