A new report shows that 24% of New Jersey’s nearly 295,000 veterans struggle to afford the basics, according to United Way of Northern New Jersey and its research engine, United For ALICE. Dr. Stephanie Hoopes, national director of United For ALICE at United Way of Northern New Jersey, discusses why so many veterans in New Jersey are still struggling and what needs to be done to change that.
