ACTUALLY STARTED COMING BACK FOR ENGLISH CLASSES, FOUND OUT THAT THEY HAD CERAMICS PROGRAMS AND BEGAN MAKING POTTERY AND DURING THAT TIME MET EDGAR MILLER AND THEY WERE PARTNERS FOR QUITE SOME TIME.
JESUS TORRES THEN CONTINUED HIS WORK INTO THE 1940S UP UNTIL HIS DEATH.
THE FIRST EVENT IS GOING TO TAKE PLACE ON SUNDAY, JULY 16 AT THE CEMETERY, GRAVESIDE CHAT, MARINO FROM THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF MEXICAN ART WILL BE DOING A PRESENTATION, AND ON MEXICAN ART CHICAGO DURING IT ON JESUS TORRES IS LIFE, AND ON THE EVENING OF JULY 20 IT WILL BE MORE OF A TRADITIONAL PRESENTATION TYPE PROGRAM, AND SALAZAR, A CHICAGO ARTIST, DOING A PRESENTATION ON THEIR WORK AND HOW THAT TIES TO COMMUNITIES AND FAMILY AND THE MEXICAN HERITAGE.
JESUS TORRES WAS EXTREMELY POPULAR DURING THE TIME, CHIEFLY IN THE 30s AND 40s, WE JUST WANT TO SHINE THE LIGHT BACK ON HIM AND JUST ILLUMINATE THAT IMMIGRANT HISTORY OF THE CITY.
