Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipI am Wendy Vogelgesang, with PBS North and the North 1033, and I am our Educational Outreach Coordinator, and I am making sensory bags.
So they're just with common materials.
Ziploc bag, some duct tape, some hair gel I put in some food coloring.
If it's not already a color.
You can put other things in that aren't pokey.
Like, I decided to put some, glitter inside.
It’s just an opportunity to create something super easy that you can have in a classroom, or you can have just at home.
Today is an event called Take Five.
It's put on by the Every Child Ready Duluth Coalition, which is started at the Duluth Public Library and now incorporates, like 20 different partners in the Duluth area.
And so we decided it would be really fun to have events that brought our partners together.
And so we've been doing one of these a month since June, and we have two more to go in September and October.
And so they're on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6 at different locations in the area.
The hope is that parents connect and make more relationships, friendships with others.
And so we're providing a space and time for them to do that.
