Esther Sands was born in Ghana, West Africa, and moved to Ohio as a teenager. After graduating from Ohio State University, she now calls the village of Magnetic Springs in Union County her home. This self-taught fashion designer describes her design aesthetic as Afro-fusion, combining the prints and fabrics of her Ghanaian culture with the patterns and silhouettes of Asia.
