This Week: Hundreds of New York schools could get a lot less state aid in Kathy Hochul’s new budget. There is fierce opposition from school districts, NYSUT, and lawmakers to the Governor’s plan to change the complicated school funding formula. Another hot issue is a proposal in the budget that would allow the Governor to close up to 5 more state prisons.
