#### Democrat Keturah Herron is the newest member of the Kentucky House.
She won a special election on Tuesday to fill the open seat in House District 42 in Louisville, vacated by Representative Reginald Meeks, who retired in December.
The Fairness Campaign says Herron is Kentucky's first openly L-G-B-T-Q state representative.
#### Two state lawmakers are apologizing for using an anti-Semitic phrase during a committee meeting this morning.
Representative Walker Thomas and Senator Rick Girdler used the phrase while talking about negotiating a cheaper price on a state lease agreement.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reports both men say they regret saying it.
