Governor Beshear says he does not expect this ice storm to be as bad as ice storms of the past, but it is still expected to be significant.
More than 17,000 customers were without power as of 4 this afternoon, the state is again urging people to stay home if possible.
The governor says the ice will make it harder to get to people if they become stranded because of colder weather and power outages.
The state is prepared to open.

It's unclear if crews from other states will be available to help Kentucky since many of those other states are also dealing with winter weather.
State office buildings will be closed again tomorrow.
And the General Assembly will not convene anyone who suspects weather-related price gouging is urged to contact the attorney general's office.
