I am in 10th grade, and I go to Oregon High School.
- André Peck: I'm André Peck.
I'm a pianist from La Crosse.
- Cordelia Fredrickson: My name is Cordelia Fredrickson.
I'm 17 and a senior at the Wisconsin Virtual Academy.
- Zachary Lemke: My name is Zach.
I'm a junior at Oregon High School.
- Cordelia: I've been playing violin for 14 years.
- Zachary: I've been playing percussion seven years now.
- Lorenz: I've been playing around 11 and a half years.
- André: I am a descendant of the Previn family.
André Previn was the extremely famous conductor and pianist.
I'll be playing Prokofiev Piano Concerto No.
1, Opus 10, in D flat major.
Prokofiev was different, and there's a lot more dissonance, and there's new ideas that sparked because of his music.
- Cordelia: I will be performing the Prokofiev Violin Concerto No.
1, the first movement.
When I first listened to it, I kind of felt connected to it immediately.
I also think it just sounds so cool!
- Zachary: I will be playing Keiko Abe's Prism Rhapsody.
I didn't think she was gonna go for it, to be honest.
I thought she was gonna be like, "Absolutely not.
That's way too hard for you."
- Lorenz: I'm going to be playing Shostakovich's First Violin Concerto.
There's a lot of expression in it.
It definitely takes a lot of effort.
[bright music] - Zachary: I joined the WYSO percussion ensemble in seventh grade.
It was probably the best decision I made for myself.
- André: It's the best one.
Jazz band has always been kind of a fun thing for me because the world of solo piano is oftentimes very lonely.
- Lorenz: A large number of my friends I've made through music-related things.
[bright music] It's kind of overwhelming, but I have a lot of fun.
I'm looking forward to sharing my progress.
- Zachary: There's sections where you're playing ungodly fast, sections where you're just, like, super slow, methodical.
It's ingenious, really.
- Cordelia: I think bringing out the musicality and really making it so that the audience feels what you are trying to show everyone.
- André: You have to put all of your heart and soul into being a musician.
