Densely-populated Paterson is dealing with an influx of coronavirus-related calls.
Paterson has the same volume of emergency COVID calls coming in, per capita, as New York City. As the number of calls increases, so has the medical urgency of the situations, which is putting more pressure on St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. The hospital is working with the mayor to create a plan for possible patient overflow.
