The Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission just finished its first round of public meetings across the state to gather input for redrawing congressional & state legislative maps for 2022. The Michigan Supreme Court recently denied the MICRC’s request for a deadline extension to draw the maps. One Detroit’s Bill Kubota has been following the process & gives a primer on how it works.
