We're out here on the wonderful Brule River doing a little drive fly for you.
It was something I did with my dad at nine years old.
My dad had us out going after Pan Fish and then we're going off of salmon and steelhead and then it for trout.
You know, this kind of early summer, late summer is the time to be out here looking forward.
But any time there's things hatching out of the river, that's when you really want to be out here trying to catch, especially in drive bys, there is such a joy to getting a fish to rise and take your fly.
But there are frustrating moments when you know the fish are sitting there and you cannot figure out what they're eating or how to present the fly in a way that they'll actually take it.
It's quiet.
You know, I like going out on the big lake with the motors, but you hear those all day.
Every once while you hear the line, the birds chirping and frogs.
And so I think that's just a wonderful part about being out in the region.
