Friday's in Georgia, presented by the governor's Office of Highway Safety, reminding you to buckle up.
Georgia, as we welcome you to the big orange jungle in Lilburn, where tonight the North Gwinnett Bulldogs traveled down from Suwannee to take on the seventh ranked Park View Panthers and good evening, I met Stuart John, the former Auburn Tigers all-American NFL first round draft pick and 15 year pro Wayne Gandy and Wayne Eric got free homecoming for him tonight after nine seasons that the head coach of Parkview is alma mater.
He left for the north Gwinnett job.
Joe Sturtevant, another Panthers star, has stepped in to take on the Parkview Assignment should make for an interesting evening.
Tonight, this is a revenge game.
This is flat out a revenge game.
His former team, a lot of talent.
Coach Godfrey decided to go to North Gwinnett.
Now he's back in the building.
These players are excited to try to take him down.
Let's start with Parkview.
They are two and all in the season, top five and seven in scoring and offense and defense.
And they're led by their five star.
Mike MATTHEWS committed to Tennessee, the number one rated wide receiver in the country, Mike Mundy.
MATTHEWS a playmaker, a guy out on the edge with speed, hands, great routes.
We don't know whether he's a safety or receiver, but we do know he's that dude.
What for him tonight to get a lot of touches?
Well, he will start at safety as well as will Iris Singleton at linebacker three Star Edge who's committed to Miami of Ohio.
When you look at this young man, he is a havoc wrecker.
He's a guy that chases down the quarterback.
It's all out effort, as they say.
All gas, no breaks for our singleton.
He can get after it.
And he's going to have to do that tonight with a lot of starters missing on this defense.
Let's talk about north Gwinnett.
They're two and one on the season rebounded from a loss against state champion Mill Creek in the opener.
They've won their last two and they're led by their quarterback probably their best all around athlete on the team Ryan Hall.
When you look at Ryan Hall, he's a game manager, but he's a great athlete.
He can move around the pocket, he can extend the plays, he can work the pocket and he can run the ball.
And that might be the key for them to have offensive success tonight him and what he can do running the ball defensive side of the ball.
Cole Funderburk is now a junior We've talked about this young man before now has eight offers including Georgia Tech and Georgia Southern.
What a great football name.
Cole Funderburk, a sack master.
Right now.
He gets at the quarter back.
He's just built for this position, three star.
He has all the talent Blue Cross the field.
Look for him to move up and down the line to try to affect this offense.
And he already has 20 quarterback sacks in his young career.
So North Gwinnett in part for you going to be a fun one.
Let's start the carousel and send it to John Nelsons.
Good evening, Matt.
Good evening.
Good evening.
However, your accessing this large device are small.
Before Eric Godfrey left Parkview to go to North Gwinnett, he left a written list of 30 traditions that he would like for them to keep when it comes to gameday presentation and during the week itself, one of those traditions actually did come to fruition.
We take you to 523 this afternoon.
Eric Godfrey.
First off, the bus, and when you come here to the big orange jungle, you are welcomed to Welcome to the Jungle by Guns and Roses.
Eric Godfrey's appearance and the North Gwinnett appearance was no different.
So strike one tradition of 30 that are on that list.
How many will continue?
We will see as the season goes along for Godfrey.
Is it going to be weird?
Yes.
Is it going to be emotional?
Already has been.
You ask Coach Godfrey about coach, you ask the coach about what's going on with Parkview.
You end up with the example of that's my guy.
You had one coaching the other when it came to their time here on campus.
So you go from that and you wonder what's going to happen as things go along.
Are they going to take it easy on their old coach?
The answer, Hanna, is no.
Eric Godfrey did not raise his folks from Park View that way.
That's the early story from over here.
Let's send it over to you.
What's going on?
Your part of the world?
Yeah, John, we talked to Coach Godfrey before the game and he said that's what everyone keeps asking me.
How weird do you feel in red and black coach?
So that is just one storyline that we will be following throughout the night.
Not only are we live in Lilburn, we'll also be coming to you from Sharpsburg for Sandy Creek versus East Cal.
We did.
That's our Web game.
You can watch it live at GBP Dawgs Sports or the GPB sports app.
So while you're on that app, don't forget to vote for our pool question of the week.
Which is which team do you think is going to win tonight?
North Gwinnett or Park View.
So be sure to vote right now and download that Jib sports out by scanning the QR code.
All right, guys, I'm going to see you at halftime.
Here's the rundown.
We'll have our make that kicking off our nominees segment.
We will have the you save it pharmacy Georgia players spotlight.
We'll hear from the principal that and much more until then we'll send it back to you man All right thank you, Hannah as the Parkview Panthers inter two Guns and Roses looking to improve to three and on the season that is the incomparable Mike MATTHEWS waving the park you Panthers flag and on the opposite side of the field, here come the north Gwinnett Bulldogs for the ninth All time meeting between these two teams is the fourth consecutive year they played in Wayne the all time series is tied for four and you have such a great environment right now out here.
Two coaches who play here, who coached here in a team that is poised to do big things.
As we'll talk about through the night, they're poised to do big things from Park View and North Gwinnett is up for the challenge.
Always great to play against a former coach, Joe Matt.
You know what's interesting is when they contacted Eric Godfrey about the job at North Glen, they said, look, this is this is the wrong time to call me.
We have a team coming back at Parkview that could win the state championship.
And Joe Sturdevant, who was one of the all time greats to play here at Parkview, takes over that team and they're off to a great start.
I'm quite sure Coach Sturtevant was surprised to hear the announcement when he got a call about taking over this job.
But he seems intense and ready to win this game.
Well, Parkview won the opening toss and they have elected to receive and Constantine, Dallas has it teed up and ready to kick off for North Gwinnett.
Opening kickoff is brought to you by Buckle up, Georgia.
Buckle up.
Georgia.
Seat belt save lives.
The future attorney in Dallas whose job is to try to boot it into the end zone and keep the ball from being returned.
Parkview already has to kick off return touchdowns this season and a punt return on top of that ball is going to be taken or go through.
The end zone was not taken by anybody as it bounces halfway through.
And so Parkview will start at the 20 yard line led by their quarterback, number 14, Jaydon Jenkins, six foot, £200 senior.
He transferred from Saint Francis where he was a big time passing quarterback.
They're still waiting for him to click here at Parkview.
He hasn't been asked to do a lot of walking down the field, hasn't thrown the ball a lot.
Only 21 attempts so far.
But his coach has complete confidence If it gets to that point in the game where he has to throw the ball down the field, he knows he has the talent on the on the edge and he's a cool concept customer.
Here is Jayden Jenkins trailing Maddox lines up next to him.
He's a Georgia Tech commit.
The Panthers have very lost their leading rusher from a year ago, Kyra.
Spain, who unfortunately suffered a season ending knee injury in the opening game of the season against Cal and Maddox gets stonewalled at the line as we take a look at the Parkview offense.
It's brought to you by Regions Bank.
Get back in the game with regions up front.
Smith is one of the top offensive linemen in the junior class, and Boyd is committed to Georgia Tech.
And then the backs and the receivers.
MADDOX Course.
MATTHEWS Crawford, who's committed to Auburn, is a corner.
Colson and Wilson, who has ten plus offers you see early on trying to establish to run big offensive line against a defensive front that has about three or four power five D tackles in there.
JENKINS going to run and pick up the first down at the 31 yard line.
Nice job there by Jenkins recognizing with all the talent he has out on the edge.
Look at the open field right there Field just opens up Nice job of hitting that first down 11 yard pickup for Jenkins.
Jenkins completed 52% of his passes, close to 5300 yards as a three year starter.
28 games started at Saint Francis and helped lead them to the state semifinal Polls in the states.
Small one, a classification very cerebral player and has shown great leadership in his short time being in this offense.
They got good big Abdul Muhammad in there, full back handoff goes to Maddox.
Maddox across the 50.
It's got to be a footrace.
Maddox to the 20.
No one's going to catch him trailing.
Maddox goes the distance for the Parkview Touchdown 68 yard touchdown run Wayne to get Parkview on the board six 3 to 10 physical wants the strength to get out of that tackle.
And you're not expecting a big man to be able to put it down like that.
But look at the blazing speed here.
A great athlete, one of those guys that could end up at defensive end, could play a little safety.
You almost think it's a misprint when he says he's that big at that position.
But wow, what a big play here.
Parkview came in to try to establish the run and they did it in that drive.
So Trey Barker is on for the Patty, the backup quarterback who will play tonight.
COOPER Frank is the holder and Jackson Barnett is the snapper.
The kick is up and good and a seven nothing lead for Parkview less than 90 seconds into the game Great blocking up front good trap block there by George Floyd who moved over to that right guard position.
Just a big run right there, right at the defense.
No one on the back end to make this play once he breaks that tackle there of Jake Godfrey.
It's just all about his being just a breakout play.
Three star headed to Georgia Tech Trey line.
Maddox.
Yeah, and what's interesting about Maddox is that he is listed as an athlete.
And Joe Sturdivant said, look what you just said.
He could be a defense.
Kevin At the next level, he could be a running back.
But if I was his college coach, I'd start him out at running back.
And you see what reminds you Auburn and New York Giants?
Brandon Jacobs Yeah, big back that you just don't believe can turn him over on the ground that fast.
But the thing with him, as his coach alluded to at six three, he's reached that height of a running back.
That's usually where they tap out.
So sometimes they have to switch over and play them.
But what a great athlete he is.
Red ribbon campaign scoring drive, three plays, 80 yards and just a buck 27 off the clock for Parkview to get.
The early lead kick is coming down at the 19 yard line and the sky ball kick down to the 29 gets him a six yard return up to the 35% return by Jayden Benson.
And that's where North Gwinnett is going to go on offense for the first time tonight.
Now, Parkview is minus five starters on the defensive side of the ball, and all of them are big time players.
They were involved in a fight at the end of the Shilo game, their last game two weeks ago and suspended by the Georgia High School Association.
We'll go through that as the evening goes on, but they'll be missing them tonight.
So first and ten for North Gwinnett from the 35.
And Julian Walters gets stonewalled right there at the line of scrimmage.
Big hit by Justin Nunn, the linebacker should take a look at North Gwinnett on offense the starting offense Russell O'Dell morrow because the only returning starter and Lewis defensive end they moved over from that side of the ball and the back to the receivers Walters, Bookman Campbell Morton and how come how come getting the start their speediest and fastest and most productive wide receiver Eric Ronning unavailable tonight also virus defense the 15 yard penalty from the end and a run itself in a first down and Cedric Cooper our referee working tonight's ballgame Look at the rest of the officiating crew.
So that's a big penalty here on Joe Sturdivant team Joe Sturdevant what a resume this guy has will kind of go through that as he goes through the evening.
He's coached and played in Europe, then a long and winding road for him to get back to his alma mater.
Pass complete out on the edge, Nicolas Bookman with a catch in a short game.
Nice job there.
Jalen Crawford getting off the block there of Sam Holcomb to bring down on that tack on what talent out on the edge in his secondary as you say a couple of starters out but they still have so much talent so much depth on that secondary end among the starters out there, safety zealous hicks the four star sophomore number three rated safety in the country.
He's going to be one of the top players in the country regardless of position by 2026.
Paul With the run and a big run by Ryan Hall, this guy is so impressive.
He was forced into duty last year when Ethan Washington went down with a knee injury in spring practice.
Quarterback counterplay there from the jump Nice kicked out there by 23 Gordon nice reading of the block there by Ryan in the hole we talked about his ability to move around his ability to run is key to this game 18 yard pickup for Hall he's receiving interest from South Florida and central Florida early in his career and a nice pursuit from the backside edge and that is Iris Singleton who gets the TFL always headed to the ball.
Mr. Singleton here once again, trap play counter play out on the edge.
But our singleton working down the line that long lean body.
What an athlete one of those guys as you can see hand kind of wrapped up there on the right hand Matt still making plays on the field already has ten and a half TFL this season Hall fires it is caught at the 23 yard line going to be close to a first down on the reception by the tight end.
Hudson Morton his fourth catch of the year.
Nice read there by Hall looked off over it.
Nicholas Bookman out on the edge.
They went back into the middle of the field.
A Hudson Morton dug Horton and just made a playwright there.
Nice job, Nice drive so far by hall third down and one big conversion.
And coming up right here, handoff goes to Walter's hand.
He will have the first down Non tackles him, but not in time to keep him from picking up the first at the 19 yard line.
As we take a look at park view on defense brought to you by Regions Bank and Muhammad and stickers stepping in for map and nets but they've been suspended Johnson's the transfer from Brookwood you got Maddox, Nunn, Singleton and Robinson on that second line and this is a power five secondary right here with Ferguson, Washington.
MATTHEWS and Crawford first and ten ball complete and down to the 11 yard line.
Nice movement on this drive by the Bulldogs.
As Bookman gets his second reception of the drive.
Nice job by Brook for getting this ball making Mike MATTHEWS, Miss.
Here in the open field, which is a hard task picking up positive yards there.
I don't it's those are the kind of plays they're going to have to make break some tackles against such a great defense on the back end second down and four and off goes to Walters.
He tries the middle of that defense and finds a little running room.
Stop that.
The 11 pickup of one on the plane is going to bring up third down and three.
Here's the tough runner.
You still have to test that middle.
It's a lot of weight inside with Jeremy Johnson and Abdullah Harmon.
As you can see, big bodies, number 90 and 54.
But you have to keep this defense honest as you try to work out on the edge.
Ninth play of the drive.
It's been a good one so far.
Started at the 35 yard line.
They've already converted one third down on this drive.
They're only 35% so far this season.
Walters gets it again and got to be close to the first down.
Manek shot in there and tackled him, but it's going to be close to the sticks.
Nice kick out.
BLOCK there by the left guard Christian Hotel, number 67.
Nice kick out.
BLOCK Hard running as you would expect from Walters and you expect North Gwinnett to try to keep pace.
So in their mind, they're in four down territory.
I believe when you talk about park, you have to keep pace.
They picked up the first down which is big for them first and goal to go from the eight you mentioned Odell five 8 to 51 sophomore he's the smallest guy on the offensive line.
Paul follows his blocker.
Walter is going to get stopped and flung to the ground by Ira Singleton and now Hall and Singleton get tangled up.
Let's see if they drop a flag.
I don't think they're going to.
That's going to be another TFL for Singleton, and that's what Coach Sturdivant loves about Singleton.
Look at him.
Get that that arm free to the balance at the end with the tackle.
Get off the block with high rips that arm free, keeps that head to the outside and that's what his head coach like says.
He's a mean kind of guy, the guy you really don't want to mess with on this defense came in with 12 total tackles in their first two games, ten solo night and a half TFL He already has two TFL on this first drive for North Gwinnett and a timeout is going to be called by North Gwinnett and we'll step aside, as they do with a big second down and goal coming up.
555 to play in the opening quarter Parkview on top north Gwinnett driving Fridays in Georgia on GPB is presented by the governor's Office of Highway Safety reminding you to be safe on every trip.
Buckle up.
Georgia riding down the road and you don't just fine when a car in front of you crosses over the line, the Reno spikes not looking at your face.
Distracted drivers are all over the place.
Say we will we will buckle up, say we will, we will buckle up.
Football Friday's in Georgia on GPB is brought to you in part by Georgia's emcees so much more than electricity.
Welcome back to the big orange Jungle.
It's that time to catch up with our friends here at Park Unit Gas, the athletic director, and time to give our 1500 dollar donation from our friends from coach.
Thanks for being a great friend of Football Fridays and a great friend of GPB.
We love having GPB here in the big orange jungle.
Thank you for coming and thank you to signal for this segue.
This will really help us.
Thanks for hanging out with us tonight.
Back upstairs for the rest of the first quarter to Matt Duane.
All right, thank you, Nellie.
Second down and goal coming up from the ten and we love being out again.
This is our second game back and you and I are just having a lot of fun being back on the venues.
We take a look at the keys to the game when they're brought to you by Breda Pest Management Official Pest control of high school Football North Gwinnett.
As you can see in this drive here establishing the run, they're doing it with Brian Hall, but they're going to have to run the ball and try to wear on this defense.
And for Parkview, contain the quarterback.
If Ryan Hall is going complete passes, make him do it from the pocket.
Paul has 16 yards rushing, 14 yards passing on this drive that started at their own 35.
Paul wants to go to the air heavy rush and he's going to go down a quarterback Zach weak back beyond the 20 yard line and that was Justin Nunn with the sack Nice job by Troy Staggers 45 not letting Brian Hall break contain He has that shoulder out there excuse me our single to number ten not letting Hall be able to get to the outside make him feel the pressure and stay in the pocket.
So now it's going to be third down and go away from the 22 yard line.
And Eric Godfrey knew this part defense was going to hit him with some negative plays.
They've got a sack at Taco, a bell on this opening drive they throw underneath and it's going to be complete the well short of the first down as the ball goes to Carter Campbell.
Let's see if they try a field goal here.
Nice job of the secondary, keeping everything, knowing where the sticks are, keeping everything in front of them, and coming up and making the tackle right there to force this field goal attempt.
Look, now they have two field goal kickers, a long kicker and a short kicker.
Looks like they bring out the short kicker here.
Or is that Dallas?
No, it's constant in Dallas.
It's their long kicker.
This is going to be a 30 yard attempt from the left hand kick his up.
Looks like it's going to be good.
And it is a 30 yard field goal for Dallas and it's a73 game.
So North Gwinnett is able to get points out of this long drive.
But some big plays on defense, keep them out of the end zone.

You should be wearing cotton jerseys, a major supplier of cotton worldwide.
So if you'd like to buy local support.
Georgia, buying cotton is a great place to start.
It's renewable and sustainable, naturally.
Thanks.
And that's a polyester fiber made of oil.
By the way, where's your dressing room?

You can also watch tonight's game on the go.
Get the latest team rankings, schedules and a whole lot more starring Matt Stuart and Wayne Gandy with you seven three Great start here Bart few quick strike three plays 80 yards north Gwinnett 13 plays way to get three points only ended up with three but a good answer a good drive with it all fans being able to run the ball with Brian Hall being able to execute nice re getting the ball out of his hand just a couple of hiccups there at the end, but a good answer to get on the board early there you take a look.
The governor's red ribbon campaign scoring drive, 13 plays, 52 yards, nearly half the quarter right under 6 minutes.
And they settle for three, but they do get points and that's important.
So now Dallas, who kick a field goal, going to put it in the no man's land ball is loose and let's see a park.
You were north on that got on top of it check the officials as they sort through north Gwinnett seem to think they have it.
Nope confuse guy nice job by constancy little pooch kick right over the head of Ellis island Appleton 42 right there need to mask scramble happens and that's what you have to do you have to keep your head especially up in the kicking game here and on the high school level that's Chandler down right?
That's Chandler Jordan, their left quarterback, and he's their highest rated player on the roster a three star safety who plays corner really good looking athlete at 6319 He already has five offers from Georgia Tech Tennessee and Auburn just really starting his career.
He's just a junior.
Hopefully it's just the air out of his lungs a lot.
It's a very dangerous jump on that ball and the ball is full of scramble.
Sometimes you just lay out, end up falling on the ball and knocks.
You win away.
It looks like he's going to be okay and that's good news.
I was down on the field talking to Eric Godfrey before the game.
Got a good look at this young man.
He is big and he's got a long way to go.
He's just getting started.
So good to see that he's okay.
Wayne, let's take a look at your keys to the game brought to you by Brady Pest Management Official Pest Control of high school for Parkview Offense.
They feel like they know where North Gwinnett is going to line up and they just need to defeat the technique, beat the scheme with what you do best.
And for north Gwinnett as we saw in that last drive tackling is key a lot of fast elite speed here for Parkview.
You have to get these guys down on the ground.
Traylor Maddox, who had a 68 yard touchdown jaunt on their first possession, stays in.
It gets the toss from Jenkins and Maddox Baldwin, his blockers and another nice game out, of course, to the 41 yard line trailing Maddox.
They really haven't had the opportunity to use him that much yet.
He looks good tonight.
Nice job out on the edge reading the blocks right there.
Abdu Muhammad, the starting tackle in that kind of tie, the arm position leading the way just like how he was reading his block envelop, picking up the first down.
That was an 11 yard pickup.
At this rate, Maddox is going to have over 100 yards rushing in the first quarter.
All still 4 minutes to play in this initial period.
So upset left here trying to draw the defense out.
Maddox This time runs right into the tip of the defense, very little gain as we take a look at the north Gwinnett defense brought to you by Regions Bank, Brock, Kyle Seabaugh and Funderburk.
And yes, London Seabaugh is the son of pro Football Hall of Famer Richard Seymour Gift Godfrey.
He is the son of the head coach Eric Godfrey.
And Masen was Owens their leading tackler and in the secondary, Jordan and Davis, Big Corners.
Hollingworth and Weeden are the safeties.
Chauncy Davis is the son of one of your former teammates, Chauncey Davis, the defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons former team mate of mine.
So I know one thing Chauncey brought to the field was hustle and effort.
So you expect his son to bring that same at that corner position?
Jenkins It goes through the hands of Carson Wilson Wilson, their second leading receiver, ten plus offers including Middle Tennessee and Charlotte.
Good ball there by Jenkins Wilson just not coming down with the ball and you can see Parkview running the ball inside and then trying to get it to these talented receivers out on the edge.
They haven't really tested his defense on the back end with some deep passes.
So you expect here maybe some double moves here soon?
Well, they're always looking for single coverage on MATTHEWS because he's almost always double, if at any time.
MATTHEWS is in single coverage, the command is to throw him the ball third down.
Jenkins scrambling now, chased by Funderburk on the run and throws.
And there's.
MATTHEWS He slipped underneath the defenders and caught it, picked up the first down.
Nice job extending the play there by Jenkins just sitting down in that zone area.
There was Mike MATTHEWS.
You can see him.
He sees his quarterback in trouble.
Watch how he settles, let the defense pass him.
What a receiver right there.
That's what you want.
You want your receiver thinking as you are moving around.
Nice job of just letting the defense flow pass.
You settling down in the zone, Coming up with the catch eight yard pickup for MATTHEWS number one rated wide receiver in the entire country.
Not Jenkins ball sails on him and almost intercepted back there by guest JD Jenkins the senior who collective guys coach raves about him here looked out of out of his hand right here fortunate for him not an interception Yeah I mean you got to be careful on a night like tonight we were down there.
It's still very warm.
I'm still patting off the sweat up here, man.
Whose hands are going to get slippery very quick.
Second down and ten.
Vaughn with a hard count is Jaden Jenkins drawing his defense offside.
Defense pointing at Mike MATTHEWS.
Maybe he started early and drew everybody off.
Cedric Cooper gonna bring his crew in and talk about it.
Got all stars on a defense.
It's a five yard penalty steal.
Second down.
So to be second down in 5 minutes right now Eric Godfrey coaching on the visitors sideline for the first time in his life played here at Parkview was a senior in Cecil Flo's first season came back was part of their great three straight championship run was an assistant coach, went off to become a head coach Loganville.
And then for the last nine years until this year, the head coach here at Parkview now the North Gwinnett head coach Bill Stewart, joined Brant Keyes staff at Georgia Tech Handoff to nicely not much doing on that carry right there.
That was Maddox again Mark he was lined up in his trips left set about five times here So far I've counted tonight you're trying to identify man to man.
They're looking JENKINS He's looking to see if his man or zone, as you talked about.
Matt if he can do it, man, he's going to throw this ball here.
Out to Mike MATTHEWS down the field, seventh play of the drive.
It's third down in three.
Jenkins looking, going up top four.
MATTHEWS caught it.
Touchdown.
You I wish.
I wish I could tell you that I'm surprised matters.
But as we said with Dave Jenkins at quarterback looks out on the field and feels that the defense is playing man to man, As you can see, he looks the receiver down, the whole play.
He's going to throw and look at that beautiful catch.
This is how you can become the number one rated receiver in the country.
Jay Jenkins.
No question in his mind, his man defense, the footrace with Chauncey Davis right there is Mike MATTHEWS in touchdown for Park.
No, he didn't get in.
They they called him out at the two yard line.
He stepped out of bounds at the two yard line.
So first and goal to go from the two.
I thought it was a touchdown as well.
Jenkins and Jenkins getting stopped inside the one oh, the catch by MATTHEWS threw him off balance just enough where he couldn't stay in bounds counter play quarterback, throw all the way you can see his knee hits right there JD Jenkins right before the ball crosses the line.
So second down and goal, Maddox lines up next to Jenkins to his left and the keeper.
And that's going to be a foul as Maddox gets stonewalled behind the line of scrimmage.
Great surge there from the north Gwinnett defense to the safety.
Malachi Weeden comes up from his defensive back spot.
Big time, big time pressure right there.
Just nowhere to go with the ball.
Cold one to Burke in the backfield, almost taking the handoff of creating this third and goal here for Parkview Green in a 6 to 184 junior.
Now it's got to be third down and goal might be the final play of the quarter in part you might have moved closer offense five yard penalty still third down so wow that really changes the dynamic here.
They had it first in goal at the 255 5555 so third down and goal now 4 to 7.
So I'm guessing that 55 which is Josh Haynes must be eligible or something.
You heard the official say 55.
So Haynes must be lined up at the end of the line.
Jenkins going to try to run it in and he's got to get in.
Jenkins takes it in from seven yards out and now it's 13 to 3.
Great job there of Jason Jenkins putting his foot in the ground.
No fake, no cut right head Shoulders square running through the tackle right there of Jake Guy free right up into the end zone is the senior quarterback six feet 200 big guy hard to bring down in that situation is by the freshman Jake Godfrey Barker on for the 80 and the kick is up and good and it's 14 to 3 on the final play of the first quarter so they had a quick drive they had a methodical drive.
This one was ten plays and 71 yards.

The big orange jungle in Lilburn, Parkview.
The seventh ranked team in seven out to a 14 three lead for North Gwinnett, Max, Jordan, Wayne, Gandy and Wayne.
This is the seven yard touchdown run by Jenkins.
It's a power play off the right side to Jayden Jenkins, big quarterback at six feet, £200 to finish off right there.
What you love about is the physicality to break that tackle, to get in an end zone.
What an answer by him.
They come out with three plays for a big touchdown.
North Gwinnett goes down kicks a field goal to get on seven three and then they take the ball and drive on a big play to Mike MATTHEWS to put another seven on the board Jenkins 44 yards passing and 19 yards rushing in that first quarter.
Melissa Barnes coming into corner and again, so Barker has it teed up and ready to kick off and Ronnie, who typically is there kick returner he's out with the virus kick is coming out of the 20 checks up and bounces backwards and north Gwinnett very fortunate to jump on top of that was Sanford Hawkins he got on top of it so that's where North Gwinnett will start their second possession of the game on offense very lackadaisical late the goal right here by Holcomb not sure if he thought about it.
He throws him back to it.
Instead it checked up, it bounced backwards away from him.
And Joe Sturdivant said they were going to do that.
He said, look up our guy.
Trey Barker's been working on the sky ball.
He thinks it could be a very effective weapon.
That's twice now.
They've effectively used that kickoff strategy.
WALTERS Nothing doing runs right into the grasp of Justin Nunn.
Nice job there.
By non 26.
Just has a nose for the ball at that Mike linebacker position protected by those big bodies.
Moorman and Johnson in the middle taking up a lot of space it gives him that ability to read and make the tackle second down and eight ball at the 29 offense five yard penalty steal second down so Eric Godfrey's team going backwards ball back down at the 24 now line to gain is the 37 Parkview defense playing without five starters Hicks Curtis Nesbitt Matt and White all up really big time contributors hasn't hurt him so far Paul looking gunning in the middle It's caught by how come and Holcomb gets close to the ground at the 34 yard line Nice job is selling in that zone right there about how come giving a big target to hole good protection up front clean pocket to throw the ball too Nice job of sitting now that's a big second down pick up to give his team a chance on third down ten yards third down and three just the second catch of the season for how good his other was.
A 29 yard touchdown reception against Mill Creek In the court, he killed Dave Hunter.
Classic North Gwinnett really needs to convert here.
They can't afford to give the ball back to Parkview just yet.
Walters is going to get the first down as he runs it up to the 39 yard line.
Nice vision there by Walter's able to kick his back to the left side.
One hard cut running over 23 Robinson to pick up that first down.
And as you alluded to Matt big first down there with the momentum that Parkview has offensively you need to get another drive, try to wear on this defense and see if he can put points on the board.
Walter six of 17 rushing far in the game gets his seventh carry of the game and Walter is running hard.
Another strong pickup up near midfield.
Walters is not a guy who's got great breakaway speed, but Coach Godfrey says pound for pound.
He's probably the strongest guy on the team.
Yeah, that's a true baller.
Five nine about 185.
You could see how he runs by Ames.
This has legs always churning.
Nice job by him.
We talked about him establishing the run game first drive they were doing with Hall right now, trying to get Walters going second down into Walter's gets it again and Walters, he's going to have himself a first down at the 47.
So, Wayne, you see a theme developing here.
North Gwinnett wants to be methodical, wants to run a lot of plays, wants to burn a lot of clock, keep the ball out of park views and they call that taking the air out of the ball.
You can't give this explosive offense the ball that many times you have to have a long drive.
Now you need to take those long drives.
When you play, you got to get an end zone.
Yeah, but this is the correct strategy to attack Parkview with Paul.
Keep her spin move right there in the middle of the field until he gets stopped at the 41 yard line, showing some athleticism right there.
Malachi Washington, the sophomore safety playing in place of the suspended zealous hicks makes the tackle good athlete It's Ron Paul.
Nice job with the spin move good vision that shows you that mental toughness.
The gamer in him that can't make that kind of move as a quarterback in the middle of the defense.
Nice job by him but you know what kind of leader years and how into trying to get this victory seventh play the drive all to the air and it is poor juggling catch by Carter Campbell for a first down dangerous pass out here on the edge especially when you talk about challenging the talent they have in the secondary Nice job there by Campbell concentrating using that pickup.
Campbell had five catches in their first three games.
He already has at least two tonight first and ten ball at the 26.
Walters gets it again, just running hard between those tackles.
Walters gets a couple of yards right there.
Howard Maddox making his attack power off the right side.
Christian Odell exposed talked about that's one thing even though he's a sophomore, could still be on the JV level.
He's a good player getting out on the edge.
You know, Frenette is executing their game plan.
They just got to get into the end zone.
Walters, nine carries 33 yards under 8 minutes to go here.
In the first half, Walters gets his 10th carry of the first half.
This time, it's none again who makes the tackle around the legs.
Four tackles for Justin.
None already in this game.
Just a nice job of reading three tacklers.
Just know how to sift through all the bodies getting down in the legs right there of Walters and get him down.
It's just a962205 junior replacing the injured Kaia, Spain, who was that starting linebacker and running back until his unfortunate knee injury in the season opener against Cal.
You just hate to see that senior had a spectacular junior season third down now it looks like we have a penalty against North Gwinnett.
No the false start also it's all starting on the offense Bobby on penalty for the previous spot steal third down and that when you're going to try to take the air out the ball you can't beat yourself when you're trying to run the ball is defense you're not going to be able to get behind it with the big play.
You can't beat yourself.
You have to play mistake free football more for that second time on this drive, they've had a false start.
Three penalties 15 yards on north Gwinnett backs them up now and it's going to be third down and nine We've missed this Wade The thick smell of smoke is in the air.
I mean, there's a cloud of hamburger smoke hovering over the field.
Somebody has the charcoal going real high over there at the concession stand timeout goal by North Gwinnett facing third down and nine right here.
And we'll step aside as they contemplate what to do on the next play.

Last year, in Bill Stewart's final year, they had coached in a three region champs and state quarterfinals.
And this is the 62nd year of football at North Gwinnett.
Program started 1962, facing a third down and nine here, Matt Stewart and Wayne Gandy, Jon Nelson and Hannah.
She'll be with you at halftime.
Stick around for that big play coming up right here for the Bulldogs.
They all look into the air right there in the middle, has juggled and intercepted Maddox with the interception.
So Maddox getting it done on the offensive and the defensive side of the ball tonight.
Little drag right underneath it.
Nicholas Bookman Nice fine by Ryan Hall just not able to come up with the catch surprise surprise there two trailing Maddox who looked up in the ball was in his hands.
As you can see.
Nice three ball behind him a little bit there.
You want to lead him there, Bryan?
Whole book, but not able to come up with it.
The ball in the air, as you can see, just pops right in front of trailing Maddox.
That was the first incompletion slash interception for Ryan Holtz.
Also his first interception thrown this season as Maddox gets the ball back for the offense.
And now Rouse's in there and Cooper Frank is in there at quarterback and.
COOPER Frank throws the ball complete to Carson.
WILSON And we were third series of the game that Cooper Frank, who's been very good in practice neck and neck with Jake Jenkins, would get the ball and would snap it here close.
Sturdivant has complete confidence that COOPER Frank, the junior, can come in and run the same offense.
He has the ARM talent.
He's he's earned it, as his coach said, to be able to get some playing time, especially early on in the season.
You want to develop your quarterback, never know when injuries will strike.
Well, when Joe Sturtevant was a coach in Europe, he led a team to the German national championship, rotating a quarterback on every play, just like old Steve Spurrier.
And we have a timeout called by Parkview State.
So let's take a look at that.

They were beaten by Westlake in the second round and their program started in 1976, making this the 48th season of Parkview Panthers football.
Joe Sturdevant what a resumé this guy has had.
Now this is just his second season coaching GHC football, but he's been a head coach for ten seasons prior to this and all over the place and listening to and talking.
He sounds like a football junkie.
You just he'll find a football game anywhere to watch or play in these all in.
He understands the talent and opportunity his team has this year in the seven eight.
COOPER Frank with the pocket going to throw it deep and looking for Wilson And is it caught or intercepted?
I think that's a catch by Wilson possession.
Usually the rule is goes to the offensive player Wilson with the ball in his hands and on his back.
And that's going to be a catch at the 36 yard line What a catch 28 yard pick up double move here on C.J.
Hollow Quest by Carson Wilson.
Tight coverage right there.
As you see, Eliquis is right in his jersey and as he turns his head, nice job of getting around ball, barely getting through, really catching the ball on his back.
There is Carson Wilson.
Nice concentration by that young man.
Right there.
Wow.
Wilson, who Coach Sturdivant says is Mike MATTHEWS.
They look the same.
Only difference is Wilson is two inches smaller.
And that's the biggest difference that they have in their recruiting as well.
But he tells teams all the time, you're crazy if you're not recruiting Carson Wilson So a time out on the field with 515 to play in the half Parkview up by 11 inches football Friday's in Georgia on GPB is brought to you in part by Georgia's EMC so much more than electricity in lively towns and peaceful rural areas.

Welcome back to the big orange jungle jungle here in Lilburn.
It's north going to versus Park View Panthers on top 14 to 3.
Coming up in just a few minutes on the region's halftime show.
We are going to have a fine one.
We will have our make that kids an offer nominees park you has a lot of players with scholarship offers and commitments but what about the kids that are under looked?
We will highlight some of those coming up.
We will also have our you see the Georgia players spotlight.
It's a great win this week.
A young athlete who is outstanding.
You're not going to want to miss that.
We will also hear from the Panthers principal who is standing just to my right.
That and much more, guys.
But for now, MADDEN Wayne, back to you.
Yeah, Hanna, looking forward to that.
Make that kid an offer segment, man.
We had a bumper crop this week.
I mean, all the nominees, these were top notch interests to see who makes the cut here at halftime with a good three plays of 25 plus yards for part.
You all ready?
Including the 28 yard catch by Carson Wilson who got him to the 36 yard line.
So big run rattles off to the races.
Devin Rouse with the Parkview touchdown 36 yards Dalvin Rouse physical shift the inside counter play once again pulling the guard and center kick out blocks the defense kind of losing Dalvin rolls in the mix nice job going in the end zone untouched Barker on for the 80.
This Parkview team is just so explosive and Sturdivant said look we really haven't had a chance to stretch our legs offensively but by Barker is up and good.
It's 21 to 3 but rallies the second back to touch the ball tonight and he's dangerous too Nice job there by Robinson and Jordan floored the three star Georgia Tech pulling here kickout block power block right there and then just the speed of Dalvin rolls.
It's one of those guys.
It's going to be hard to run down.
That was actually Brian Stokes.
Pardon me.
I thought it was 21.
It was 31.
Oh, So, hey, 3131.
Brian Stokes It makes it even faster.
The clips, as his coach called him.
Let's go.
Nice job.
They're blocking executing up front explosive offensive part few we talked about north Gwinnett why they're trying to milk some of the clock you just can't this offense has just so many tools and one of the fastest offenses got to win that is going to see so Brian Stokes he's just a sophomore and been offered by Marshall with a 36 yard touchdown runs.
My apologies to him.
And an 18 point lead for Parkview with 5 minutes to play here in the first half kick coming down at the 25 yard line.
How come not a 12 yard return up to the 37 And that's where North Gwinnett goes on offense.
And you hit the nail on the head a few moments ago, Wayne.
It's great that they put together.
They've had two double digit play drives, but they only have three points on the board.
And now you start getting in that territory where the score starts forcing Brian Hall maybe to try to make some plays deeper down the field.
You still here in the first half?
If you can just you can take that same philosophy you've used this time.
You really do have to walk the ball down and punch a touchdown on the board to stay in this game.
So they spot the ball at the 38 yard line first and ten for North Gwinnett, 5 minutes even to play here in the first half.
Walter as gets the handoff and Walter barrels his way up to the 44 yard line just in not making another tackle.
Nice job once again fish in there by wall to bounce that to the outside.
Early in the game we saw them run right at the defense they had a little success now is starting to come out on the edge and his kind of vision and ability to make those cuts is going to be key here.
See North Gwinnett, 13 plays on their opening drive, Got a field goal out of that, ten plays on their second drive and threw an interception in Parkview Territory that was picked off by trailing Maddox Hall Looking for a lane to run is an up to the 49 yard line.
Ike MATTHEWS came up from his safety spot, brought the lumber with him at MATTHEWS.
Such a dynamic athlete able to flip over just one of those guys that there is no drop off, no matter what position you put him in.
He can he can bring that same five star to safety corner wherever you put him.
He's just that good.
Kind of reminds me of another guy called Travis Travis that we saw a couple of times here on GPP.
Yes.
And on national television just last Saturday, leading Colorado to a victory over TCU, played over 140 snaps in that game.
Unbelievable.
Up top and caught by the tight end.
Morgan inside the five Touchdown North Gwinnett 51 yards Nice job of executing this play Hutson Wharton a little delay tight end really just running a seam route fake like he was blocking everyone sucked up as they've had so much success running the ball in the middle and then just leaking out right there is Morton what a needed touchdown by this north Gwinnett Bulldog offense.
No doubt they needed badly.
Brayden Clark is on for the patty and the kick is blocked.
It's not a light ball and high school football so 21 to 9 as the kick gets blocked selling out on the run same action they've seen countless times tonight biting up are the safeties leaking out late?
There is 23 Morgan for the touchdown we knew at some point being down 21 to 3, this offense might have to try something down the field.
Not necessarily a trick play, but a great designed play, taking advantage of the aggressiveness of the defense.
They're just looking to governor's red ribbon campaign scoring drive three plays, 62 yards, just 122 off the clock and the 51 yard touchdown catch by Hudson Moore.
They do a very effective job of using Morton and Brumbaugh below in their passing game.
There are two tight ends.
They don't have the deep threats that maybe they've had in the past.
So a little bit more of a controlled passing game.
Great catch by Morton right there to get him back in the game.
And Hall is seven of eight for 99 yards with that touchdown pass you just saw.
And of course one interception as well.
So Dallas has it set to kick off.
Let's see if he tries to kick it deeper, find a hole in the kick coverage, going to kick it blind, drive to the 14 yard line.
Wow.
So heavy hit downfield return by Jake Crawford.
Jalen Crawford, 20 yard return.
He's the Auburn commit Wayne he's a four star corner He's committed to your alma mater and we're not allowed to say eagle okay War Eagle there Jordan I mean Crawford out there Nice job of him getting that ball and just getting what he can.
No delay catching it in the air and getting up the field.
What a talent he is this secondary and his team in general, when they get those five or six seven starters back, especially on the defensive side, you have to watch out, especially in the secondary.
Jalen Crawford committed to Auburn on July 15th over 22.
Other offers, including LSU, Florida and North Carolina.
So North Burnett's defense back out there, Maddox back in there, as is Jay Jenkins.
The flag comes down after Maddox gets just one on the play and that area of holding right there, Matt, don't hold me to it, but I like that feel a little bit on that holding offense offers ten yard penalty from a previous spot on a steal first down offensive lineman knows hopefully when he sees it right Oh they will back him up ten yards Big offensive line is not a great job so far and just watching them work it coach talked about how they will sacrifice and move positions just to make up the matchup they need.
Jenkins running and Jenkins can be run down at the 31 yard line.
That was Jake Godfrey, the freshman Mike linebacker and son of the head coach, didn't like what he sees got outside making and we've talked about how strong of a runner he is.
Jenkins You get sat on the edge.
Nice job of him.
That's a nice pickup when you talk about first and 20 didn't about half of that back on that play second down and 12 coming up Jake Godfrey six foot 197 freshman coach's son Eric.
His dad says it's a good thing I'm on the offensive side of the ball.
The defensive coordinator, Mike Kelly, gets to yell at him, not be at second down pitch, comes out here to Maddox, babbles it retains control and gets dragged down at the 46 yard line by Funderburk.
Look, you bounce there Wilson coming around fumbling the ball.
Nice job of him bringing it in the short game is third and long.
We really haven't seen this offense in third and long tonight.
That much third down and eight right here.
Good.
Look at Funderburk 23 tackles on the season five quarterback sacks 90 AFL already Maddox seven carries 88 yards here in the first half and a big first after him also has an interception on defense and Jenkins steps up to avoid the rush throws and man streaking open knocked down at the last second super job by Weeden the safety to deny what would have been a touchdown pass and this is one that Jenkins when he wants him he's going to want back middle of the field opens up right there.
He can take off and get about 20 yards.
He decides to air it out, trying to get to Colson.
Nice job getting in the play there.
Knocking that away at the last minute is we 6 to 1 a big frame getting that hand in there but Jenkins had a lot of ground in front of him when he decided to throw that ball and safety has been a sore spot for North Gwinnett this year.
That was a big play by the free safety Malakai Wheaton.
First one of the night from either team and this is a short one.
It's going to hit at the 45 and kick out of bounds.
So North Gwinnett going to get the ball in great field position with 136 one timeout remaining and they've got a kicker in Constantine Dallas who can hit a 50 yard great time to take a shot down the field if you coach Godfrey Faulconer the offensive coordinator as it's called a good game tonight doing what his team needs to do, executing up front in the run game, getting these teams staying out of third and long.
Let's see here.
They come out and try to take a shot down the field.
Got a big chunk play, of course, Todd Faulkner was a star quarterback here at Park View himself.
First time he's ever been here as a visiting coach.
He's the offensive coordinator for Eric Godfrey's North Gwinnett Bulldogs.
Got a chance to visit with Todd before the game in the run by Walter.
Not much doing right there.
He's tackled there about, 42 Ellis Appling in the middle there.
He's had a nice game along with his mate Justin non an inside surprise let's see the pride run in some clock and now they're going to take a shot and try to at least get it in field goal position.
You would think they want all six to play.
Oh, all scrambling in a step up to avoid the rush.
Now he's going to take off and run and I'm going to fake and get out of bounds.
I love watching hall play quarterback, 18 yard pickup.
I think he's got a big time future as a dual threat quarterback at the next level if he doesn't play baseball instead Parkview defense trying to keep hall from getting outside Great job of that backside pursuit lost their rush lanes Nice job of hall finding that back lane not able to throw for the big play but picked up a big run there was offense.
Now they're in business they only need about ten yards, maybe even less than that to be in field goal range for Dallas right now.
Paul weaving through the defense going to slide down might have to burn the time out right here he goes down at the 31 and they do use their final timeouts So now it gets a little bit more tricky because you don't have any timeouts remaining.
That means in order to get your field unit out there, you're going to have to get out of bounds, throw it to the side because it's going to be tough.
I mean, it's tough in the NFL and in college, but when you're talking about getting a high school unit, running them on the field to try to get the field goal, it can get a little tricky.
Still, 47 seconds left in the half.
Let's check in with Giannis.
Let's turn it into a multi screen experience tonight and our multi screen GPB Dawgs Sports is down in Tyrone Sandy Creek in East Coweta eight and a half minutes to go in counting in the first half we've got our first touchdown on the board and it's East Coweta is pending so right now six nothing pending seven nothing they got they did get the Pats so it is seven I think he's got wait a second quarter over Sandy Creek our web game all season long brought to us by our friends Brady Pest management.
Brady Pest management the official pest control of high school football.
Back upstairs to you.
Thanks, Nellie.
That's a great South Side rivalry.
And of course, we saw a tremendous South Side rivalry rivalry last night when it went down to the final play of the game.
And Westlake defeated Cedar Grove 4641 oh.
Paul, eight, carries 39 yards, rushing seven for eight, passing 99 yards and a touchdown, 138 yards.
Total offense for Ryan Hall here in the first half blazing second down and six with the ball spotted at the 33 kind of on the edge of Constantine Dallas's field goal range right now going to hand it off to Walters and Walters banging bodies down to the 25.
That should get him in field goal range right there.
Nice job of taking what the defense gives.
You still have time to be able to make a play like they just it just called looking at the defense Parkview count in a prevent only a three man rush nice pick up by Walters I mean at this point you could take a shot at the end zone.
It's the opening salvo on the back end.
As you can see, only a three rush again quarterback draw call inside the 20.
He gets out of bounds and a hit.
We'll see if there's a flag.
That was a big hit right there at the sideline.
Mike MATTHEWS and Charlie Maddox areas for quarterback draw all the way.
We can't talk enough about Ryan Hall, his ability to scramble and make plays.
And the hit took place inbounds.
So that was the right call no no personal foul there.
So second down and four now down to 21 seconds.
Remember don't have any timeouts left for North Gwinnett.
So you don't want to throw the ball in the middle of the field and get caught in a situation where you're trying to scramble the field goal unit.
You can also get up to the line of scrimmage and spike it to help kind of throw it to the outside.
It's caught and down to the 11 yard line.
They're going to have to hustle.
They get the first down that stops the clock.
Not know it does stop the clock.
They're not stopping now.
They stop the clock to move the chains.
Now they have a chance to spike after the catch by Carter Campbell and.
There's the spike comes with 5 seconds.
Nice job of executing getting the ball out on the edge to Campbell to get that big gain.
Great hustle by Singleton bring him down and then killing the clock is Hall what you seem to be discussing the call with the referee.
They did a very good job of managing the clock there.
They really did with one timeout, just like they put 7 seconds back on the clock.
Well, the clock ran a little bit more than it should have while they were setting the chains.
So the chains didn't get set.
But I don't know that as much as 12, somewhere between 12 and five.
I don't know.
It should be 12, but 12 is what they're going to settle on right here.
So they're going to run another play.
You know, this gives them a the Bulldogs great chance to run a play, but looks like they're still going to just kill the clock.
Yeah, because as soon as the ball was set down and they blew the whistle, the clock started rolling again.
So 8 seconds, which is probably about the right time.
It should be.
So let's see if it's going to be Dallas.
He kicked a 30 yarder earlier and this would be about close to 30, a little bit less than that.
They bring Dallas on.
It seemed like it was a little discussion or maybe with 8 seconds trying something in the end zone, but that'd be too risk, I think.
I mean, if you want to get points, if you want to make sure you get three.
So here's a 27 yard attempt by Dallas kick is up and the kick is good constant team Dallas pops it through from 27 yards and with 2 seconds left in the half, it's 21 to 12.
That's a good job by the holder to Stanford.
How come that ball came back?
It was laying on the ground and he got it upright.
Eric Godfrey and his return to Parkview gets three.
They're down nine here, basically the end of the first half.
Nice drive there by North Gwinnett, using the entire clock to try to close this half out with points.
They got what they needed as a team.
Dallas, especially in today's kicking game you know, as coach having that confidence setting him out there great great discussion and great job by Ryan Hall leading that offense, being able to take what the defense does.
And Eric Godfrey, 20th season, a high school head coach at Parkview, 70 wins Loganville 53.
He was a three year starting tight end at Presbyterian and in high school he was a senior tight on Cecil Flo's first season back in 1993.
He was also the fourth ranked wrestler in the state.
Yeah, that stood out to me right here.
Matt.
I should ask them about that line drive kick right there on the front line.
And that's going to be the end of the half.
So Eric Godfrey going to take his team to the locker room.
They're down nine, but they got a little momentum as they head into halftime.
North Gwinnett did a great job offensively executing what they came out to do run the ball, take some long drives part for you as well offensively explosive plays that's what they're built on.
So both teams really kind of established what they wanted to in that first half.
John Nelson's going to grab Joe Sturtevant here and see what he has to say.
Let's sit it down to now.
Thank you very much, man.
I know you've got a nine point lead.
I know that you're also looking at penalties and missed opportunities here in the first half, too.
Yeah, we some penalties in that process elongated some of their drives and it cost us big on when we really need to go down and score.
But we'll make those adjustments and keep our hands inside and not hold what I was going to talk about penalties too, that seem to be another thing that I know that you're going to address when you have these kinds of conversations other than say, don't hold, what are you what are you talking about?

Thanks, Joe.
You got it.
Thank you, guys.
All right, Joe, the head coach of Parkview.

Kids have been through a lot over the past few years remote learning, missing activities, traumatic events, and it's affecting their mental health.
These issues are more common than most people realize, so it's important that parents and teachers know the signs.
Today, we are joined by Tara Jackson from Cigna Health Care, who will share what to watch out for and how to help your teen.
Tara, why is it so important to recognize and promote teen mental?
Teen mental health issues are on the rise, especially since the start of the pandemic.
We're also seeing a huge increase in suicide, especially in young people.
Statistics show here in Atlanta, 60% of teens report stressor and suffering with school.
A lot of them can't even recognize that they have mental health issues or even know how to seek help.
What are some of those warning signs in teens that may indicate they're struggling with mental health?
Some of the general warning signs is just being aware of your children's surroundings, understanding if they're having cognitive issues, if they're having sleep issues, anxiety.
Are they hanging around the same friend group?
You know, and what's more concerning, post on social media, if they're expressing concerns of hurting themselves and things that they're posting on the Internet, how can we support our teen's mental health during this tough time?
It's essential to be open and honest with your teens, letting them know that you are resourced as their parent.
You Here to listen and open, to understand any anxieties or anything that they may be feeling.
I don't have teens yet, but I will one day.
So this is so important.
I'm taking notes.
Tara, thank you so much for being here.
And if you would like to learn more, please go to Cigna dot com.
Hey, welcome to the Football Fridays in Georgia Halftime show presented by Regions.
Get back in the game with region state.
I'm Hannah Goodin.
We're coming to you live from the big orange jungle in Lilburn.
It's north Gwinnett versus park view Panthers on top 21 to 12.
The marching is about to take the field behind me.
Did you know that the Panthers have six players that are committed to power?
Five schools.
Many more to come by the end of the year and in the coming years.
But what about the kids that are overlooked?
Maybe they're undersized or they're a little slow.
Let's highlight some of those players on this week's nominees of Make That Kid an offer.
This week, we start with Flowery Branch senior linebacker Cameron Haynes.
The four year starter bounced back from an injury last season and has already earned Hall, County and Team Defensive Player of the Week honors.
He's a smart kid with a 3.9 GPA and believes he's in the best shape of his football career.
So somebody make him an offer.
Next up is Brookwood quarterback Raj Waldrop.
The six foot five, £207 senior threw for over 3100 yards and 36 touchdowns during his junior season while breaking five school records and earning All-State and All-Region Honors.
Somebody make him an offer.
And our third nominee this week is Earley County senior running back Tiger Davion Stovall.
He helped lead the Bobcats to the third round of the playoffs year and finished the season with 822 yards and 14 touchdowns.
That's averaging 137 yards per game.
You got to make him an offer.
I talked to Parkview Head coach Joe Sturdivant before the game and he nominates linebacker Carson Wilson from the Panthers for make that kid an offer.
Follow us on social media at GBP Sports to see how you can get your name on next week's half time.
All right, guys.

That seems to be the theme seven to nothing right now in the first half of those games.
Go watch our web game on GPB Dawgs Sports and the GPB sports app.

We have a quick update for you on our Web game in Sharpsburg East.
Coweta just ran down the field.
They now lead Creek 14 to nothing if you're not watching that one.
Head on over to GPB Dawgs Sports or the GPB sports app.
Okay.
Now here at the Big Orange Jungle I with Principal David Smith.
So the team is leading 21 to 12.
But before we talk about the game, time to brag on your school.
Tell me everything that's going on here in Lilburn.
There's a lot going on.
The school year has been off to a great start.
We're super excited to have Coach Sturdevant back on the sideline with us.
He's really focused on the the the whole idea of tradition from his time being a player here at Parkview.
And he's really tried to bring a lot of that back.
And it's it's been very exciting for us.
You said traditions.
Tell me about one of those traditions that someone who has never been on to this campus, what they wouldn't know about.
Well, you see a lot of orange here at Parkview.
It's on the field.
You see our team in Orange.
And one of the things that we've really tried to push with our kids is that we wear orange on Fridays.
And it's really nice in the cafeteria, especially during lunch on Fridays, to see so many of the kids with their orange on.
Last question for you.
What else is going on besides on football?
What about the other athletics?
Well, there's a lot going on.
Our volleyball team, softball team both playing real well cross-country as well.
They're running tomorrow up in Acworth.
Then they have the county meet next Saturday and looking forward to some good things from those kids as well.
So there's there's always a lot.
And you can, you know, see the kids in the band behind us as well.
So lots and lots of different opportunities.
And we just like to see kids get connected and be a part of things here at school.
Thank you so much, Principal Smith.
Trying not to flinch as do some kicking practice right behind us.
Thank you.
I'm going to have John Nelson tag in.
John, you're going to need some sort of umbrella to protect you from that.
Thank you, Principal Smith.
All right, John, give us a quick update on what else is going on around the state.
Well, let's see.
We can flop the score with Benedictine and where that one is now, second quarter.
And our friends down on the coast there and complete in charge of that game, BCS now leading where by the score of 1714.
I mean, take care of a little business.
You want to have the winner of that one on the Football Fridays in Georgia podcast next week.
Yes, we do.
Okay.
So we've made that.
So whoever wins drawn, your fan base is on notice.
We're calling you on Sunday to make sure everything's going to happen on Monday.
Met her and Jeff Davis right now that one is scoreless in the third crazy one in Hartwell.
Our friend Ben London letting us know after being down 21 nothing in the first half county storms back.
It's now a one score game with Daniel Daniel leading 2821 As I sit here and try to go through other scores on your back to John, well, you know, what you could do is, you know, maybe she could just maybe stand like that.
And then that way she didn't say bad.
So.
All right.
So Howard, trailing Harris County by the score of 20 to nothing, Harrison, Denmark, by the score of 14 three, that one's in the third.
We got a lot of games that are moving quickly tonight and we'll leading centennial second quarter by the score of 31 for our game.
What about our game?
We're running out of time.
Oh, okay, fine.
I thought you said 17 oh first half of this one.
Oh, the shall inherit the earth.
That's a rush joke.
It's 2112.
That we are the priests of the Temple of Syrinx.
You can't trade threes and sixes.
When I ask Eric Godfrey about that coming up in just a little bit.
So we'll see what happens as I run that way and catch up with Darryl, watch out.
I'm going to avoid a lot of things flying around.
Bye bye, John.
Thanks.
All right, everybody.
As you know, go follow us on GPB Sports on social media at GPB Sports.

Right now the Panthers leading but we have a lot of game to go so that's it for the halftime show.
Thanks everybody for watching.
It was a fun one.
We will be right back with you next Friday, doing this all over again.
But until then, we have an entire fine second half, Matt, Wayne and Jon.

It's renewable and sustainable, naturally.
And that's a polyester fiber made of oil.
By the way, where's your dressing room?
Back at halftime.
Seventh ranked Parkview leading North Gwinnett, 2112.
As we get ready for the start of the third quarter, Matt Stewart, joined by Wayne Danny Parkview hitting some big plays in that first half.
But Gwinnett able to stay in the game with some methodical drives, a nice one at the end of the half to manage the clock and get three points.
Both teams able to operate on their offensive side of the and do what they want to do.
North with north Gwinnett they wanted to run the ball they accomplished that for Parkview with the big plays right now it's about mistakes and penalties for who's going to take this game.
Let's send it down to Nelly standing by her coach, Godfrey.
Thank you very much, Matt here with the coach.
And I know that you were looking at that scoreboard saying, I know I can't have threes.
I got to have sixes here in the second half.
Yeah.
When explosive offense like Parkview has and we've got to get in the end zone.
Absolutely.
And you were taking the air out of the ball, you were in control with possession making sure that that explosive offense that you know all too well wasn't getting possession.
But once again, turnovers beat you right now.
You're right.
Yeah.
We're definitely not in any kind of hurry up mode trying to hit as much clock as we can.
And you're right the yeah the interception there the I tip pass it we got it we got to convert those and score and definitely not emotions.
Oh my Cavs of burning and running up and down the football so it was all something back in the jungle.
I know it's weird I know it's emotional.
Good luck in the second half.
Thank you.
Send it back upstairs to Matt and Wayne to keep talking about the first half.
All right, Nellie, let's take a look at those first half highlights.
Opening 90 seconds to the game.
True Lane Maddox.
Big hole in the middle of the field showing the speed Here is Maddox to set his team up first on the board with the big six.
Then after a North Gwinnett field goal made it seven three park you back in business again.
The pass from Jenkins to Mike MATTHEWS.
He got the one on one on the errors to MATTHEWS couldn't get it in but it's big quarterback right here stumbling and fumbling into the end zone for the touchdown It's Jenkins seven yard touchdown run for him.
It's 14 to 3.
And then the interception off the hands of Bookman.
Tre Lane Maddox with the interception had a big first half rushing and playing defense that turned into the 3136 yard touchdown run by number 31, Brian Stokes Brian Stokes into the game for the big touchdown and then North Gwinnett was able to sustain a drive.
Ryan Hall able to find Hudson Morton right there down the middle of the field for the touchdown to give his team life a nice safe hands by Hudson Morton the tight end 51 yard pass play 2112 the score what jumps out at you as you take a look at the halftime stats really is a clean game we thought an open that was going to come in and try to run the ball.
They did Parkview Strong in the running game pretty clean with the penalty's untimely penalties but pretty clean right now.
I think both teams are doing what they came in the game to do to try to win.
And I think you know Eric Godfrey right there at end of the halftime talking to Nellie hit the nail on the head.
They at some point they've got to score touchdowns.
They do have one and two field goals.
They got to they got to score touchdowns and not field goals in the second half.
When you part of those kind of offenses that are trying to keep high powered teams off the field, execution, you can't have those mental errors.
You have to finish drives with touchdowns, not field goals.
And that's the thing they have to accomplish to pull this one out.
North Gwinnett will get the ball to start the second half, so that's good news for them.
We'll see if they can put together a drive here.
And they're also dangerous in the kick game they built.
You know, we talked about Parkview, too, with the touchdowns that they have scored in the kick game.
Well, the Bulldogs have two return touchdowns this season.
Ronnie, who's unavailable tonight because he's out with a virus and Bookman had a 90 yard kick return for them in their first three games.
So both teams equally dangerous in the kick game.
But Parkview, with their kicker Barker, has done a really good job of kicking the ball short, too, about the 20 yard line every time.
And it's been effective.
It's definitely been a chess match in the kickoff for both teams, kind of strategizing, changing it up, making everyone be involved.
North Gwinnett getting the ball here.
They really have to keep pace.
Feel like this is about the distance.
Anything more than that they won't be able to come back offensively tonight.
So the big story tonight Eric Godfrey returning to the big orange jungle as a visiting coach for the first time in his career, the last nine seasons, the head coach at his alma mater, Parkview, he took the North Gwinnett job Joe Sturdevant, former star player here with the Panthers, said he felt his entire life that this was the job that he would have and now he has it here in 2023.
There's Trey Barker, done a really good job of checking up those kicks.
And the third quarter kickoff is brought to you by Buckle up, Georgia, buckle up, Georgia, seat belt, save lives.
And now they're going to kick it to the other side and it's bouncing around and picked up inside the 30 yard line and the return up across the 35 by R.J. Jordan.
And that's where the Bulldogs are going to go on offense.
Let's see where they spot that thing.
You're going to spot it right there at the 40.
So we've got an even better return than I thought.
So first and ten for North Gwinnett from the 40 yard line.
Ryan Hall brings out the offense pretty good first half for him.
Eight of 11 passing for 109a touchdown.
Also threw an interception, which wasn't his fault and the receiver should have caught that.
Also, nine carries 44 yards rushing and Julian Waters the back they're going to throw instead and it's complete to Hawkins Hall come up to the 50 yard line Nice job once again of Sanford Hogan with junior finding that soft space in the defense and just settling in, making the catch and making his numbers big for his quarterback.
Know you're going to call it a close to ten yard pickup.
Second down in short, not quite there, Malcolm.
Two catches tonight how Julian Walter Walters, 13 carries 51 yards and he's going to get his 14th carry right there and pick up the first down lunges forward to the 46 and a half yard line.
One thing you like about Julian Rodgers is he's always got those legs turning shoulders where he's just in that position.
He's always going to get those two or three yards without penetration.
It's a nice hard run up the middle.
So first and ten is at the 47.
North Gwinnett already has it on the plus side of the 50 here on their opening drive of the third quarter, Walters gets it again and Walters run very physical Maddox making the tackle but that's about a three or four yard pickup for Walters Nice step up here by Trevor Maddox.
Number two, stepping up in the hole from that safety position.
Nice job driving the running back, back for just a short game right there.
Good job of him.
We talked about a guy that deep in running back safety right there coming from that safety position as Maddox.
Nice, steady, workmanlike effort for Julian Walters tonight.
Not flashy but getting the job done.
Hall stands in the pocket.
He's in trouble.
And Singleton's guarding a nice job of the defense right there.
Just all over, staying in there, rush lanes, working off the block.
Our single ten.
Just nowhere to go on that short drop by.
Ryan Hall.
As you can see, just a one step drop pressure in his face there by Abdu Mohamed.
In the end, just working off the block at Singleton to get the sack.
Singleton with a sack and two tackles for loss.
A great look in 65 to 22 senior long range.
He got him playing linebacker, seam got him playing up on the edge, a stand up edge here, committed to Miami of Ohio.
We'll see if more from that gets this pocket moving for Ryan Hall to get away from this pressure timeout called by north Gwinnett athletic personnel and will step aside with a big third down coming up opening minutes of the third quarter.

2112 Park View on top of North Gwinnett.
Let's take a look at the top five prospects this talent Leighton Panthers team led by Mike MATTHEWS five star number one wide receiver in the nation.
He's committed to Tennessee.
Cortez Smith, four star number two interior offensive lineman in the nation.
He's uncommitted.
Jalen Crawford, four star number ten cornerback, committed to Auburn zealous Hicks, three star, four star number three, uncommitted.
He's a sophomore.
Jordan Floyd committed to Georgia Tech.
That's just the tip of the tip of the iceberg about which path you need to do a top ten.
You have so many bodies, so much talent on this team all around.
So a big third down coming up here for North Gwinnett.
Out of the time out, you see what they were able to conjure up.
Todd Faulkner there, Ossie Hall going to go to the air and fire in the middle.
That's a catch and a first down fourth catch of the game for Carter Campbell.
He has been steady and reliable for them tonight, especially with Rodney now.
Nice job here, Carter Getting his head around just a slant route.
Good protection, clean pocket there for all that will deliver that ball Big frame there and Campbell is six three about 180.
That's a 12 yard pickup.
He has more receiving yards tonight than he had in the first three games combined.
When you talk about a methodical drive, this will be the sixth play of the drive.
They've run five plays in nearly 3 minutes, so they're moving kind of slow, but that's by design.
Walters crashes inside the 30 yard line and down to the 29, once again, just running behind his pads to war to Walters delivering the blow.
A lot of times when you see him run, he's pushing the power, not the biggest of bags, pretty strong and dependable.
Second down and five, the line to gain is the 24 Walters again following his block, trying to get outside, not going to be able to singleton with another huge tackles for loss Great job recovering getting back to the outside almost got called inside there by Christian Odell on the power 67.
As you can see the watch Singleton work out of the block right there and he's doing that with a club hand working off of those blocks, making plays with the big We keep showing him on TV.
He won't be committed to Miami.
How much longer He just goes, Nothing against the Mack team all go into the air and throws behind him in a nice catch by Campbell Campbell this time reaches behind him gets his fifth catch of the game and once again similar route to the last catch for Campbell a slant play out on the edge keeping the ball low this low behind Campbell right there but kept the ball low to give it to him.
Remember the kind of catch that he bobbled for an interception in the first half.
He reached behind him and then bobbled it and it turned into an interception.
Great job, Campbell.
That time he's five catches for 52 yards.
So more tonight than he had in his first three games combined.
He's having a big night just running out all, bootleg firing.
There's the tight end again, another first down and Morton all the way down to the six yard line.
Hudson Morton with his second big catch of the game, established a run in the play action fake now pays dividends Nice job going underneath rolling back right A beautiful ball out there to Morton's We can catch and get up the field tight ends or affecting his game in a big way tonight and Morton two big catches handoff goes to Walter's right up the middle Touchdown North Gwinnett what a drive there by north to admit what a physical run to get into the end zone Left side of the line This is just right down hill running through the tackle of Singleton and MATTHEWS as we talked about.
Walters keeping his shoulders square, just churning those legs for the touchdown.
And that's how if you're going to play that slow walk football, you've got to it with touchdowns if you're north Gwinnett and he got to swinging great play here now they'll convert into the kick don't really need the two right here it doesn't really affect the game that much so just take the single sure point here Dallas is on for the patty and he's going to squeeze it through.
Well, that was a knuckleball line drive, but it counts for one What a drive by North Gwinnett with Walters pounding it up the middle and north Gwinnett back in the game 2190 Football Fridays in Georgia on GPB is brought to you in part by Regions Bank get back in the game with regions big at Regions Bank.

No, thanks.
I look for cotton now, which grows right here in Georgia.

We got a game at the big orange jungle.
2119 North Gwinnett scoring the touchdown.
Julian Walters taking it in from six out now 18 carries for 69 yards in the game five for 18 on that drive it was a ten play, 64 yard drive, nearly 5 minutes.
As you take a look at the governor's red ribbon campaign scoring drive, here's a look at the North Gwinnett prospects.
Jordan Chandler, three star safety in the junior Cole Funderburk another junior Jayden Brock 2020 for defensive end Braxton Kyle a sophomore make that a junior defensive tackle and Jake Brumbaugh Oh the other tied in it's and Ben Lawton has been getting all the catches tonight much younger and thinner class in that Parkview team But hardly what you would call a rebuild for North Gwinnett.
A lot of lost, a lot of loss, a lot lost, a lot of star power, however, off that quarterfinal team of a year ago, Jordan McDonald and Grant Godfrey kick will come down at the goal line.
They'll let him return it and Colson not going to make it to the 20.
And now the pressure shifts back to Parkview after such a long.
Now you see the philosophy of the Bulldog offense Start feeling like you might not get a lot of touches.
Yeah, you've been sitting over there for 5 minutes watching the game, start feeling that pressure.
Now don't let that change your strategy.
Don't make that make all the mistakes.
But you got to go out and execute and get down this field and try to get on the board as well.
If you think about it, North Gwinnett had the final drive of the first half, the first drive of the second half.
You have the long halftime.
It's been 45, 50 minutes since Park View's offense has been on the field.
And this young man right here, Jaden Jenkins, get it going, not has to do a lot in that first half.
Throwing the ball did have the big pass down the mike MATTHEWS.
But he's done a lot of great things running with his feet.
Then a 16 oh run for north Gwinnett over the last 824 on the blink game clock is going to go up top and off the hands of Mike MATTHEWS, Chandler Jordan, who we just showed you.
Top of the list for that North Gwinnett Prospect list was running step for step with he and Jaden Jenkins feels like he has that man to man even in this case you see Weeden getting over there trying to get over the top of Mike Mac.
But he wants but still hadn't gotten over there.
He wasn't over the top.
He was not.
And almost coming up with the catch.
What a talent out there on the edge, always drawing a double coverage.
And that is the green light for them when they look at the coverage and they feel he's over there by himself, they're going to throw him the ball regardless of the point.
He can get that Tennessee commit the ball, what damage he can do.
The two catches tonight for 44 yards and that's Maddox up the middle.
There he goes.
It's going to be a footrace.
Drilling Maddox.
Touchdown.
Second long touchdown of the night for Maddox the Georgia Tech commit He goes 82 yards Great job cutting back into the middle of his play when selling out the stop the run good trap And we have seen this story here before when this young man hits nothing in the back end to stop him.
They've rolled the coverage over to double on Mike MATTHEWS.
There's no safeties.
The middle of the field.
Make one man miss run through a tackle and then off to the races in straight line.
Maddox Man, he has been lethal tonight, two big touchdown runs for Jalen Maddox, 68 yards in the first half, 82 yards here in the second half now has 170 yards rushing in the game.
Great vision and counter trap.
You can see him take a little peek.
Thought he might have to bounce it to the outside and then decided cut behind the blocks here.
There's no one in the middle of this field.
And that's the effect that Mike MATTHEWS has.
He draws the safety over and look at this man and young man here, six, 3 to 10, three star headed to Georgia Tech.
And as you said, Matt, we don't have a definite position for him, but I'm quite sure at tonight's performance, running back might be what he's doing a couple of miles south of here.
Well, I'm no Vince Lombardi, but he's a pretty good running.
2819 pass.
He gets it right back just like that sandstorm blaring over the loudspeakers as it comes down at the seven yard line.
Holland Quest over on the far sideline got nicked and falls forward out of bounds close to the throw.
Nice job by Ellis Appling if he doesn't get this hit to knock him out of bounds, This is going to be a long return here for Harlequins Nice job of covering their 42 for Parkview.
So I think the key here for North Gwinnett is, you know, you just saw Parkview beat you with another big play.
Don't panic.
Stick with what you do.
Plenty of time to continue what you've done this entire game.
You just have to go down with the mentality that you got to put the ball in the end zone.
Ball goes out here to Bookman and Nicholas Bookman gets a couple guards on the play.
He had to get down in a hurry because a heat seeking missile called Mike MATTHEWS was closing fast.
Your job getting the ball out.
And right here you see him stumbling.
He could see Mike MATTHEWS headed toward him.
He was trying to get to the outside, but big hit right there by MATTHEWS second down and a to help hall going up top, looking for his man in court.
Great catch by Carter Campbell.
He's having a spectacular game.
Oh, wow.
That's a goal ruled out on the edge.
We talked about Campbell, about six three just a fade route.
Go right on the edge.
Beautiful job, 5050 ball just going up and beating the corner with his size ball skills.
Got his head around.
Good hands out on the edge by Campbell.
He's got a younger brother, Christian, in the sophomore class who's going to be a good one, too.
Carter Having a heck of a game.
Walters gets the handoff and.
Walters Nope, none was there to blow up the play.
And then he got help from his buddies.
His coach still keeping this defense honest, running.
WALTERS Inside, we've seen the effect that it has had against his defense with the play action.
They've had to respect the run game of Walters and it has opened up a couple of things here for Ryan Hall in this passing game, second down and ten.
That was Ralph who came up and helped out Maddox or done, I should say, on the tackle.
No good up by that I'll go to the air Court again.
Chatman Again, Campbell Pardon me.
Campbell again with the catch now nice route by Campbell taking advantage of the soft coverage theme park Few, even though they have a lot of talent, got a lot of great athletes.
They haven't really been up in the press coverage a lot tonight.
They let these receivers not get behind them and that's it is taking advantage underneath.
Yeah, he made that one mistake where he bobbled the ball that got intercepted but he has got seven catches tonight.
He's really redeemed himself through keeper hall on the fake speed sweep and Hall gets down to the 25 and close to the first down the Jets Street action to draw the defense out of the middle.
Quarterbacks roll all the way there with Hall tough runner not the biggest of quarterbacks when you look at his size only 611 7175.
A tough game or tight player really sees the field well too great or six play of the drive coming up first and ten from the 25 they hand off to Bookman on the speed sweep this time it gets blown up.
They were ready for that one Nice job not letting this ball get to the outside, fighting to keep it inside.
There's Maddox once again coming out of that corner position to make that play is Sean Ferguson second down spin move going to go back to the other side and that is the catch first catch for the other tight end tonight, Jack the grumble all seniors been offered by the Air Force Wofford and Leno trying roll out little trickery, throw it to the backside, get it in a big body there, a grumble low to to get some yards Nice tackle once again coming up six his son Ferguson third down call goes to the air a complete flag out might be coming back after another nice catch and run by Campbell And a second flag comes out at the end of the play after a 14 yard pickup.
Looks like they're going to get north to let it loose on the first flag.
Good.
Maybe for Nicholas Hook, the number nine holding press play.
Well, LaMarcus, waiting for the officials here to get things straightened out Two separate penalties on the play and Sedrick Cooper I think getting ready to tell us about it about holding on the offense and a late hit on the defense the bubble screen right there that's the little league touchy right there not too much by Bookman and then the late hit bad seed finishing him off there as Robinson 23 or park you if the holding penalty was out there on the edge that was was very you have two fouls on play very close got to holding thousand play on offense first and ten yard penalty from the spot and a foul and we got a DePaul foul personal foul on the defense it's going to be a 15 yard penalty steal third down steal third down We're out so the third down So north Gwinnett gets five yards to the positive in that transaction.
But if that was the hold out there on the edge I thought that was a little nick thing.
Real, real touchy right there.
Questionable at best.
Brookman did get his hands off it immediately.
North Gwinnett now third and long and you have to I know they have a good kicker but to keep pace with how explosive part you offensively can show you they can score is coach Godfrey in a mindset of four down territory already in this game.
Yeah that will that will be you know that'll be an interesting if they don't get it here do they bring the field goal unit out to stay within a touchdown.
You still got a quarter to go.
I don't know that you got to push the panic button just yet He said For every yard he can get, he looks like he says the ball should be at the 21 and not the 24.
He wants those three yards and after nine years of being here, I guess he would know the field.
He goes got three nos.
His own field you see there in the background, B.J.
Luke, he's the Hall of Fame coach from that is the tight end coach.
He had a great career himself up north.
His son, RJ Luke, is also on the staff.
Is the strength and conditioning coach.
So yeah.
So I think the debate is because the penalty is marked off from the line of scrimmage and not the spot of the foul and.
That's what the argument that was going on down on the field hall.
Heavy runs in trouble.
Quarterback sack Singleton the first guy to getting and then Muhammad there to help finish it off and lost his helmet pushing the pocket that big body is Abdul Mohammed inside big physical strong tackle just pushing just nowhere to go with this ball right here on that short drop arrow single turn.
How many plays is he made tonight off that edge?
A ton.
It's just amazing.
These rip through two people right there, beat the tight end and then beat Julian Walters, big time player there, as is Singleton.
So this is going to be about a 49 yard kick, maybe 50.
Yeah, they're going to set it down.
So this will be a 50 yard kick from the left hand.
Oh, of course.
Any time you try a long kick, you've got to be careful about the trajectory coming over that line.
Jack through kicks.
The longer the kick, the higher the percentage it can be blocked and the kick is on its way.
Does he have enough leg?
He does a 50 yarder and he might have hurt himself kicking it 50 yards.
He and he hit So let's check it let's see they might get a first down out of this just like it's going to be a first down coming off the edge landed right on his son Ferguson landed right on his foot, still having the concentration there against the team Dallas to make this field goal from 50 yards span.
What a weapon.
Don't see that every day in high school football.
And then Ferguson lands right on his foot as it comes on the follow through.
So the key is, is it going to be an automatic first down?
Because I don't know that Dallas is in any condition to kick it again, You wouldn't do it any more?
No, no, You wouldn't be kicking it again.
If your intention is to stake the three points there up there on the board for you right now at 2822.
But they got the offense back out there, which indicates it might be a first down for North Gwinnett.
Got a personal foul roughing the kicker on a defense So automatic first down 15 yard.
Well, you heard Cedric Cooper, an automatic first down.
So take the three off the board and give North Gwinnett the ball first and ten at the Parkview 18 yard line.
Big breakthrough for North Gwinnett as we talked about how they are turning this clock, running it down.
Another set of downs here to try to get on the board.
Walter is right up the middle, moving the pile inside the ten yard line.
Big, strong run by Julian.
Great job once again.
Offensive line coming off the ball made with Walters.
All he needs is a small hold of it right there and so physical at the end of these runs.
Look at four or five orange jerseys that take the push him back and what he lacks in that speed he makes up with with brute force and power second down and one no Walters again hit and drives the defender back to the five yard line thing you love about Julian Walters and you saw it right there on that play initial contact doesn't slow him down hip two yards behind the line of scrimmage and his shoulders are so square it's hard to bring the guy down when he's so evenly square to the line of scrimmage falling or pulling for three or four yards first and goal to go ball at the four yard line handoff.
Walters again glides right through defender.
Two defenders hit him in the backfield and he just went right through him.
No, no cut just straight down heel is all defensive line has really come alive here in this second half just coming right into you television is Walters not giving the outside edge rushers any chance to bring him down 22 carries 84 yards for Julian Walters might be the final play of the third quarter and how is a touchdown?
It is touchdown North Gwinnett Paul takes it in 2825.
Give that drive right there to that offensive line.
Oh Dale more roll back go just surging.
Look at the orange jersey he's going into end zone and hall just getting beside that left side right there to center morrow and Odell getting a push from Walters in the back to push him into the end zone.
You'd have to tip your hat to the offensive line and their blocking ball goes to home.
Try the swinging gay play.
It gets blown up.
That's another extra point.
Remember they had a blocked and now a failed patty and it's 2825 could end up being a big story here in the fourth quarter.
Your governor's red ribbon campaign scoring drive 12 plays 70 yards and over half the quarter.
621 Eric Godfrey's team has done an effective job of long methodical, time consuming drives.
They get points and they keep Parkview from scoring point took advantage of the personal foul running into the kicker.
It so watch Ira Singleton he ended up blowing up this Patty there he is number ten right there look he did he he got the snap instead of snapping it conventionally between your legs, he tried to do a little spin move pass and Singleton alertly slapped with that ball and blew up the patty attempt.
Singleton has had a great game, one and a half sacks, three tackles for loss blew up that patty.
Let's see what they do here.
With 24 seconds left.
They're going to kick it away and deep and it will not be returned actually.
Good to see counsel team Dallas kick that ball into the endzone shows that he he's back we thought maybe he was hurt on that field goal attempt the big hit of the ball right there and he might come up in a big way this this game continues in the way it is no doubt but now North Gwinnett the Bulldogs on defense can you slow this offense down Parkview has spent a lot of time they rested on defense because their team has had the ball most of this quarter Jenkins in their quarterback and he's going to run it pushes the pile gets about three yards on the play for Hannibal Godfrey the linebacker in on that stop James Jenkins ability to run the ball he is really gave provided this offense that dual threat all right now most of the passes have been screens but his ability to run the ball is affecting this game end of the third quarter heading towards another fantastic fourth on GPB sports football Friday's in Georgia 2825 Parkview half of the nation's opioid overdoses happen right at home because people don't understand the dangers of taking an oxygen perk with a glass of alcohol for stress or to sleep.

It is now fourth quarter time, 2825.
Your margin is three.
That's the score here in Gwinnett County.
Web game is third quarter at Garland Shoemaker Stadium.
It is East Coweta leading Sandy Creek.
Now third quarter 21 seven East Coweta has the ball inside, the Sandy Creek 30 yard line.
So East Coweta looking to put their fourth score on the board in our web game at GPB that organized sports our web games brought to us by our friends at Brady Pest Management right at pest management, the official pest control of high school football mad a couple of scores before we send it up to you for the fourth quarter, Northeast Macon and their running back Nick Woodford continue their winning ways they beat Carver Columbus tonight and a score on the coast Benedictine leading Ware County Touchdown pass Chrome and hot two at Edwards 3114 to you Thanks Nellie Second down and six for Parkview as you start the fourth quarter And Maddox gets swallowed up by Jake Godfrey lost a yard on the play Nice job of spreading to the outside has got four just nowhere to go.
A lot of penetration but a defensive front third and long in Jay Jenkins step back and deliver this ball.
You know he's going to be trying to get the ball to Mike MATTHEWS.
But the one thing he's shown in these down distances is the ability to scramble and make it running the ball.
NORTHWOOD North Gwinnett ran 22 plays apart, views three in the third quarter.
Parkview did score a touchdown on one of those three.
Jenkins to the air and it's caught by Wilson Wilson picks up the first down nice route underneath dragged route there by Wilson catching him on the back end Jane Jenkins to pick up that first down I think we got a flag and might have a hold here on Parkview, which would erase the first down.
And now let's move downfield offense.
Got it in Elizabeth in 11 man downfield on offense a five yard penalty from the previous spot we're going to replay third so that's going to push the ball back to the 18 yard line.
Joe Sturdivant wanting an explanation hands on him.
So now third down and 12 the situation move for Cole Funderburk.
This is where he makes his money.
Him and Jayden Brock, all the SAC masses of this defense trying to get some pressure.
Jenkins has a pocket sidearms it out here to Maddox and Maddox stopped at the 25 will not pick up the first down good job of rallying to the football by the Bulldogs You see four or five white jerseys out there to bring Maddox down and good coverage on the back end.
Nothing down the field just dumps it off to his running back five jerseys, making sure he doesn't pick up that first down.
So coming situation here for Parkview Bookman is standing deep back at his own 35 and Barker gets it out there.
But it's a short kick and it's going to go out of bounds.
Let's see where they spot this thing.
Time north to an that's going to have it on the plus side of the 50 it spotted out at the 44 Bulldogs have it in part due territory when we get back to football Fridays in Georgia on GPB is brought to you in part by Cigna Health Care.

Here we go.
North Gwinnett got the ball with 1016 to go.
They've Got it at the Parkview 44 to start this drive.
Matt Stuard, Wayne Gandy, John Nelson, Hannah Goodin and our entire spectacular Gp-B team with you for the big orange jungle.
It's another great football Friday in Georgia.
Walters trying to get outside, not going to be able to is Ferguson.
The corner comes up, finally upends him at the 45 they lost a yard on the play and that's the speed that this defense possesses right there.
As you can see them rally to the ball.
Getting out of that tackle is Walters of MATTHEWS, but then Sean Ferguson finishing him up.
And a few times we've seen tackles for loss on Walters really doing a good job of milking the clock.
They have done that the entire game, been an effective strategy.
Paul throws to the outside it's caught it the 39 that's another catch by Carter Campbell having a career game here tonight that catches for Campbell and that's that ARM talent that Ryan Hall does possess.
I'm always short rollout this is a long road to get this ball out here to Carter who's had an outstanding game for his quarterback tonight eight catches 97 yards for Carter Campbell who had five catches for 40 in their first three games combined his third down and five up the middle.
First down carry for Walters and down to the 25 yard line one right at the middle of this defense.
And as we talked about earlier in the game, there's great maps Those guys out this defensive front kind of wearing down Julian Walter seems like he's still getting stronger as the game goes on.
He's right at 100 yards 24 carries 97 yards for Walters tonight.
That gets him to a hundred right there.
Nice counter pull there by Christopher Beck.
All the right guard running behind his big guard there.
And even on that kind of play, you can see always seems to be falling forward with Julie Walters second down and six clock approaching 8 minutes left in regulation 11.
Paul the keeper right up the middle man, he took a vicious hit.
I mean, vicious.
I mean, not malicious, but a vicious hit.
It was a hard hit up around his shoulder pads and helmet as he went through the line standing up.
Mike MATTHEWS coming from that safety position.
Nice job once again.
Yeah, that's a helmet to helmet.
Good running vision there by Ryan Hall, taking a big hit there from the five star Tennessee Mike Matthew, no flag thrown on that play first and ten he picked up the first down at the 50 new running back.
First time we've seen somebody other than Walters in the game.
That's Khalil Basil, the linebacker.
That's his it might be his first carry of the season.
He doesn't have many.
If it isn't our singleton from that backside in running that flag down that effort he's had enough he's seen his defense get pushed down the field with Julie Walters coming off the edge to make that tackle.
And now Walters back in their hole going to follow Walters to the outside and haul inside the ten yard line out of bounds at the six yard job.
Paul following his blockers lead blocking here by Walters And good luck out there by Hudson Morton The tight end is, well, not holding, keeping his hands inside under 7 minutes.
It's third down and one from the six oh.
Walter is going to get the first down.
He is so strong they hit him behind the line of scrimmage and he still carried the defender for.
The first down.
Allen Maddox just couldn't get his corral, his arms around him, the pull him down shoulder square watch.
He hits the line.
He shoots.
You're hitting him from the side, not able to get into his wheel area to bring him down.
He's just falling forward for two or three yards, picking up that first down first and goal to go.
Walters again lunges forward.
This time the big defensive line was able to fall on top of him.
Believe that was Anthony Arrington and it was this bulldog offense is okay taking three plays to get in the end zone.
It's what they want to do.
I mean, they want to burn the clock.
10th play of the drive coming up Wrigley Field.
You definitely feel like they're going to go forward in this situation to put pressure on them and they're going to milk this clock as much as they can go, Oh, ball up the middle hole into the end zone.
North Gwinnett, Touchdown and the Bulldogs lead for the first time tonight Outstanding blocking up front Great play action here showing you two jets sweep action pulling the quarterback Ryan hall making Mike MATTHEWS miss in the hole Look at this sweet beat right there by Ryan Hall for the touchdown.
Really attacking the middle of this defense in this half and it's paying dividends with north Gwinnett now they line up to try to make it a four point lead and take the field goal out of the mix for Parkview Ryan Hall.
A gutsy effort by that young man tonight.
He and the combination of Julian Walters have been hard to stop three yard touchdown run.

Friday's in Georgia on GPB is brought to you in part by Georgia's EMC.
So much more than electricity football Friday's in Georgia on GPB is brought to you in part by Regions Bank get back in the game with regions being 535 left north Gwinnett leading now for the first time all night looking to upset seventh ranked Parkview 3228 Eric Godfrey's return to the big orange jungle he has put together he and Todd Faulkner great offensive game plan to milk the clock all night another long ten play drive and nearly 5 minutes off the clock perfect execution by this offense in this second half long drives we're finishing those long drives four touchdowns and right now the offensive line in the run game of North BURNETT has Parkview on its heels.
Can this explosive offense wake up here now?
With 535 left north Gwinnett has run 32 plays in the second half and part due only six plays from the line of scrimmage in this half, they've erased a 2112 halftime deficit and now lead 30 to 28.
Now, can the North Gwinnett defense stop this part you explosive offense they won't get a chance to return this and Parkview is going to start at the 20 so that's the other that's the flip side to the story.
Yes.
North one that has been very methodical.
They've executed their game plan.
Parkview has been explosive.
Very few reps.
The second half not really in a groove.
We don't really know how they've been in the game.
They've had very little opportunities only two times with the ball.
Jaden Jenkins, in this offense just to be patient and if anything, go on your own long drive and close the game out.
If you can.
So Maddox, who's approaching 200 yards rushing on the night, stays in there, running back.
Jenkins goes up to and pulls and cannot run underneath it.
Chauncey Davis was running coverage, but Colson was open.
Looks like he might have a cramp.
Nice job of winning at the line of scrimmage against Chauncey Davis is Colson had a step on him Good ball here just inches away from catching it maybe lay out at the end of this play but really had a step on Davis and you can see he's just cramping up on the ground there Colson the wide receiver six foot 185 senior has five offers including BYU working out the cramp for him right there to show Sturdivant going up against his former coach.
Sturdivant was a player on the 2020 2122 state championship teams.
They went 45 in oh eight.
They never lost a game from his sixth grade on in the Parkview program.
And there is the legend Cecil Flow, all time winningest coach in Gwinnett County history.
197 victories, won four state championships in his 20 seasons.
And there is Coach Flow and coach Sturdivant Sturdivant with the championship trophy back in the day.
There's a beautiful picture there coaching player celebrating second down and ten Maddox not going anywhere making the tackle.
Sturdivant had told us in our conversation with him this week.
He's told his running backs, You're not going to play again if you get tackled by the freshman linebacker.
Well, we've got four.
He's had his share of tackles tonight and he's sifting through and bringing down that big body of Maddox by Jake Godfrey under 5 minutes to go.
And it's the third and eight facing Parkview here.
Jenkins going to toss it here to Maddox and he dropped it her footsteps.
Chandler The corner was coming up to make the hit.
Let's check the flag.
Get Chandler Jordan with a helmet to helmet.
Personal foul out here on the edge.
Nowhere to go with this ball for Jenkins Just dumps the ball down the Maddox and coming up right there on the edge when you talk about Chandler Jordan that big body didn't drop his head so he didn't use the crown of his helmet.
I mean, it was a collision more than anything else.
I mean, it was an inadvertent collision.
You see, Godfrey, it is hot under the collar and I can see why.
But by rule, he did have it was contact above the shoulders.
I mean, it is that is the rule.
We got a personal on a defense, even a 15 yard penalty.
It's going to result in a first down here.
And you can see on both sides why Coach Godfrey would be in outrage from his especially on that side of the field.
Just looks like a big hit, as we said, didn't drop the crown of the helmet.
It was more on the technical side being up above the shoulder pads.
But right now, Parkview with more life to try to get 441 come back and win this game.
But right now they have no rhythm offensively.
You know, you're not able to run the ball, not able to get the ball down the field deep cause goes the Maddox Maddox gets away from Funderburk and then Maddox gets dropped after a two yard gain at the 40 yard line.
And Godfrey didn't hold that tackle again.
Collin Quest was out to a slow pitch to get the ball loose shovel pass in the air for the work of Cole Funderburk, hustling out there, finishing what Chauncey Davis and partner were coming down to another fantastic finish.
Second down time Stokes gets to Kerry.
Stokes squirms his way up to the 44 Nice job of Stokes getting behind those big bodies.
Counter pull there by Floyd and Robinson Stokes which is a591 75 southpaw.
That was just his second carry of the night.
His first one went for a 36 yard touchdown in the first half, under three and a half to go in regulation and a four point lead for North Gwinnett Jenkins drops it off.
Stokes can't hold on to it kind of got twisted up trying to get his feet going straight and catching the ball at the same time just couldn't coordinate it.
And now it's fourth down.
I think you got to go for it.
He just didn't get his head around fast.
Actually had enough time to wait there as Jenkins gives Stokes just another step to get around.
Tried to deliver the ball, but right here they're going to roll the and go for him on the fourth and two or at least line up on their side of the field and try to get this big first down.
They do have two timeouts remaining.
Think the fear is giving the ball back to north Gwinnett and never getting it back again.
Toss goes to Maddox.
Maddox gets through the defense and for Dwayne Maddox another huge run still going inside the 20 and down to the 15 where Godfrey finally gets him on the ground.
A 200 plus rushing game tonight for truly Maddox, just a student body left play here, shovel, pass all the orange jerseys, and then it just become the Trey Lane Maddox show here, breaking tackles, spinning stiff, doing a great job of ball security is a lot of body slapping at that ball right there.
What a big time performance tonight.
We're talking like 200 yards rushing, an interception.
He's made some plays on the special teams, 12 carries, 207 yards running tonight for Dillon Maddox first game He's really had a chance to just unbuckle and be the lead back Stokes Actually that was Rouse that time that 21 and that 31 thrown me off That was 21 rounds on the carry big time tackle here by Jayden Brock.
I know you saw Jake Godfrey in there as well, but number 21 comes in and he's head hunting right there on Rouse, trying to bring him down coach.
His son's had a couple of tackles for loss tonight, at least six tackles unofficially on the night.
Not bad for a freshman Mike linebacker playing some of his football pitch goes to Wilson Wilson trying to get inside the ten yard line and down to the ten.
And now it's going to be third down.
And this is all about just getting the ball into your talons hand a little jet sweep coming on the back end, actually shoveling him the ball.
Malachi Wheaton couldn't bring him down.
Nice job of running after the catch there by Collison Wilson North Gwinnett has all three timeouts remaining It's third down and five right here Handoff Maddox rose to the pylon touchdown truly Maddox ten touchdown run his third touchdown run of the night And it gives Parkview the lead again at 3432 and rightfully so on this drive here the three lane Maddox power kick out there by the pick Aaron Robinson and no is out here on the outside when he bounces it out there.
Poetic justice right there for Maddox to be able to score after such a great to get him in that position Big Pat right here it's up and good and we have a three point game with 70 seconds left on the clock.
Let's go.
Well, just hold on a second.
FOSTER This offense was five yard penalty replay on time down.
So we're going to do it again as defense of the ball.
So now it becomes a 25 yard kick for Barker.
Correction, we got offsides on a defense after this.
It's going to replay on time down low.
Wouldn't they just take the kids, take the kick in that case, if you're unless it's a dead ball penalty, pre-snap penalty.
And I think that's what Coach and Joe Sturdevant is telling him.
Hey, I'll just take the points.
We already got the point.
We don't want to do it again.
We got more.
Joe Sturdivant is standing at the 17 yard line.
He said, Why are we kicking it again?
He's like, We already hit the extra point.
If the penalties on North Gwinnett, why are we having to kick it again?
Okay, so apparently a pre-snap penalty.
So when the penalty came, it just blew the play dead.
So the kick didn't count.
The big extra point here to keep it a three point game.
As we talked about the Constantine dollars, he's showing you the 50 yard range in this.
So three point lead, 35 two.
That's Lane Maddox, just a beast.
He has been a beast tonight.
Thank Georgia Tech fans are happy about that.
In lively towns and peaceful rural areas, Georgia's electric membership cooperatives are on a mission to provide a different kind of electricity.
Our not for profit member owned EMC are focused on making life better for members at private residences, farms and thriving businesses.
We work for you, generating safe, reliable affordable electricity, giving back to local programs, serving our members to make life brighter.
Georgia's EMC is so much more than electricity.
I've been checking food labels for years now, like to buy local and I like to buy healthy for my family.
So I started checking the labels on our clothes too.
Did you know synthetic fibers like polyester are pretty much made of oil?
No, thanks.
I look for cotton now, which grows right here in Georgia.
A major source of the world's cotton.
Cotton is natural, renewable, sustainable.
And buying cotton supports Georgia farmers.
Good enough for me and my family.
110 to go.
We're not done yet, though.
Parkview 3532 Lee North Gwinnett does have Constantine Dallas over on the sideline who had a 50 yarder already tonight that they elected to take off the board because they got a first down in it, eventually a touchdown out of it.
But he has the leg from 50 yards because we've already seen it here tonight.
And look at Maddox.
No time off.
He hasn't done enough.
Yeah, he's got to go out and play kick coverage.
Got to go cover.
Put your best players on the field.
I don't know.
He hasn't come off the field.
I bet he's played 90% of the snaps both ways and on special teams.
For both of you, tonight has just been tremendous, outstanding effort and the kick is going to go out of that.
Well, no, it hugs the sideline.
Then finally does go out of bounds.
So they'll bring it out to the 35 yard line, six.
If you saw that breakthrough on the kickoff team right here, kind of directional kicking and almost instant almost worked, but it went out of bounds.
And now good field position to start this drive off and this North Gwinnett team is going to be in a season where on a kick in team the ball was spotted at the 35 yard line first down.
So they need 32 yards to make it a 50 yard field goal to tie and they've got three timeouts.
So, I mean, they've got a lot of time to work with here with three timeouts, they have two, Parkview has three North Gwinnett has to.
So they have to come out.
Still plenty of time for them to work here.
Whole pocket lets it fly and way incomplete.
He Had to get that thing out of there in a hurry.
He had pressure coming hot off the edge and we're going to have holding call to I believe the holding call was to keep his quarterback from getting a cap and team long developing play there, especially trying to get this ball on the backside.
The card of Campbell running a deep post route not able to get behind the defenses.
Parkview Secondary has been playing soft.
You got to hold it in against this offense.
You are benefiting from the previous spot steal first down attack in the left tackle right there.
Maybe in that center position you can see Duval now Homer trying to slide through and the right guard grabbing in morrow or center marble well look like Russell does 60 the tackle tackles also holding on the play because Ryan also got the blindside throw it out here to Morten Morten with his third catch of the game and he wisely runs it out of bounds back at the original line of scrimmage there about maybe a yard short of that bring it up second down and 11 now the clock's in 58 actually not quite that they gave eight on the catch and run soft coverage kind of prevent defense once again Parkview having issues lining up on the back end Paul at the middle been a slide down at the 43 bring up third and short they might burn a time out here because that's going to eat up a lot of time if they don't a timeout called by north Gwinnett guard for action on that last play that got away was playing with 12 defenders in the slow defenders out there for them some confusion the lineup you see the coach pulling his players out walking them out here to the beginning count how many people don't want to lose this game in that kind of penalty.
Checking with John Nelson.
Quick before we go, one last look right now, 2414, interesting match up with a seven and a triple A triple A team with a lot of graduations there.
Once again, you can watch out at GPB Dawgs Sports East Coweta and Sandy Creek.
The web game as always this season brought to us by our friends at Brite, a pest management branded pest management, the official pest control of high school football.
We got 48 seconds.
We got a pretty good game, guys.
What do you think?
Got a pretty good game, no doubt about it.
Sandie Creek, Just to follow up on what you said, I mean, they lost everybody from the team that won the three state championship last year, including the coach.
The coach retired and got a new coach from Central Carrollton.
They've been off to a good start this year, but having a tough goal against the big 70 school down there tonight, trailing by 1048 seconds on our clock, third down and one Julian Walters will get the first down.
That'll stop the clock momentarily for them to move the sticks.
Good job there by Walters picking up that first down getting out of the tackle of just a99 thought he had him for tackles for loss finally got the clock going again Paul to the air and it's caught underneath Bookman picks up about nine on the play.
They're going to have to hustle though.
Clock's going to keep moving.
They might have to use their last time out.
And they do.
So that's tough right there because now you have no timeouts and you're going to have to get the field goal unit on the field.
Now, they did it well in the first half.
They executed this exact same scenario in the first half and got three points out of it.
The job they're working the underneath route Ryan Hall is doing great job of that all night long with guys like Malcolm and Morgan.
This guy was going in and we talked about good to see Constant team Dallas kicking the ball off because this is one of those games this shaping up that is going to give him an opportunity to help his team out.
He's already shown he has the distance to get it, get it in the field goal range.
I don't even know how kickers do it, Wayne.
I mean, I'm sitting here looking at it.
I'm getting my skin starting to crawl and my hands are sweaty.
I don't know how kickers do that.
They stand over there just knowing, you know, it's going.
It could come down to me now.
Paul Rollie throwing, it's complete.
Oh, my goodness.
Huge hit out there on the edge.
Clock is still they're going to have to get up there and move or spike it.
They're going to spike it right here.
And they do.
That was complete the Holcomb.
But he couldn't get out of bounds in time as he got laid out.
And now just 13 seconds.
Nice job there by Colson.
He came off his primary route.
He saw where the ball was going.
Big tackle.
And now north Gwinnett, you have to have a fall is execution of this Boy, you got to get a junkyard, but you got to get to the ball.
Kill the clock here with 13 seconds.
You got to make the completion.
Yeah, but everybody has to rush to the ball as well.
Third down and ten line.
The game is the 33.
Remember, they have no timeouts remaining haul throwing to the edge and it is caught but ruled incomplete.
Great effort by Campbell and now they're down to fourth down.
This would be right here this is a 60 yard field goal attempt if they tried it.
My goodness.
Great effort.
He couldn't come up with it.
He was trying to keep his feet down and catch it at the same time.
Just couldn't do it.
So I'm going to leave this in the line hall.
So we're going to try to maybe throw a Hail Mary.
So what's more likely a Hail for a touchdown or a 60 yard field goal?
You don't like your odds with either one, do you?
And Parkview goes with the Prevent defense.
With 7 seconds to go, Paul, going to wind up and try to throw it as far as he can and throws downfield.
He was hit as he throws And Parkview has defeated north Gwinnett 3532.
Here is that man our signal to coming from the backside just not going to let Ryan Hall set up to get this ball off down the field.
What a gutsy effort here by North Korean that really had his game in control.
Ryan Hall trailing Maddox on the other side for Parkview and hugs for Joe Sturtevant and Eric Godfrey.
We were expecting kind of a rivalry revenge game in this game did not disappoint both teams fully part through here missing a couple of starters, impactful starters as well.
It was when it came in game ready executed well on both sides of the ball really came down to the explosiveness of Parkview offense, the methodical game plan on offense for North Gwinnett Parkview Truly Maddox was just too much for him tonight.
He went for over 200 yards rushing, scored three touchdowns.
And let's send it down to John Nelson.
He is standing by with our Georgia Cotton Commission player of the game.
And he had a bit of a night on both sides of the ball.
Here's Lane north of 200 yards on the ground with a pick brought to us by our friends at the Georgia Cotton Commission.
Georgia Cotton Commission.
Natural Choice for Georgia.
Our natural choice for player of the game was.
Number two.
What was it like that they're going up against their old coach on him?
Oh, it was a great battle all the way up to the end.
We came in with a great game plan, had a couple of players out and.
The people who came up and stepped up, they executed it.
You know, we got it done.
It's always in rivalry game.
This one was back and forth.
What were the conversations like in the fourth quarter after North Gwinnett got the lead and you guys had to respond All it was just give me the ball, you know, and I was making plays all night.
So when they put the ball in my hand, I made another play and they won the game.
Ultimately.
What's it like being out there knowing that you're going to be playing both sides of the ball, Offense, defense.
You don't sound too gassed.
No, I'm fine.
All you know our coach How does conditioning train all summer all my been working ever since spring and you know just walk in and out got me conditioning real no doubt about it North of 200 yards three Lane Maddox is our Georgia Cotton Commission player of the game.
The Georgia Cotton Commission.
Natural choice for Georgia will be tracking down Coach Sturtevant in short order.
Matt Back upstairs to you.
And Wayne, how about that performance by Maddox?
And also what he did on defense, too, had a big interception that killed an early drive for North Gwinnett just net, really.
I bet I would love to get the final count on how many snaps he played tonight.
I bet it was 90% at least.
Offense, defense, specialty an all out effort by these players knowing they were missing some guys that could help them in Charlie Maddox needing to have a big game and he came out and you saw a lot of those runs was individual effort.
He was getting out in space, making guys miss, running away from people on the field.
What a talent he is shown to be for team A weapon that they definitely can go to consistently out of the backfield.
So Park view now three and zero on the season north Gwinnett falls to two and two certainly north Gwinnett was looking to get a win here in Eric Godfrey's return to the big orange jungle but nothing to hang their hats about or heads tonight about this performance.
They put up a great fight against a very, very good Parkview team that could be good enough to win a state championship.
And they showed a lot of mental toughness regardless of how the game was going.
They had a game plan, especially on the offensive side.
And they executed it as good as you can.
It just wanted to take the air out of the ball.
We're going to take you on long drives the second half they started turning those field goals into touchdowns and it is well executed as you could have wanted if you coach Godfrey by his team to give him a chance, as we saw here on that last point, PA Few's got St Pius coming up next Friday night.
They'll host him here at the big orange jungle North Gwinnett.
Their next game is their region opener at Duluth and that'll be two weeks from now.
Two weeks from now.
Let's send it back down to Melanie.
Thank you very much, Matt here with Coach Sturtevant for Parkview alums on this staff going up against another five who had pieces of the Park View program, this one meant a lot.
Absolutely.
So, of course, we knew they're going to be well-coached.
We knew they're going to have a great game plan, exposed a couple of areas that we knew was going to come, right.
We had to make some adjustments mount, but our offense five minute, we talk about it, we preach it, we have to eat the clock.
I'm on their gates, keep trying to keep turning it and the little things that matter.
Carson Wilson cuts underneath that on that pitch.
He we are dead rights cuts underneath it gets back to the sideline huge loss trailing run in what a great game by Traylor Maddox also offensive line fantastic and man what a great win but it's also it's a good one when you when you beat something things you mentioned the little things that can contribute to a big win It's an undercut here it's a block here.
It's between guard and tackle hitting outside.
All of those little things added up tonight.
Yeah, absolutely.
It's a little thing on the block field.
All right.
We want to take three steps and leap in front of the kick so we don't want to run into him.
Right.
Just little, little details we kind of lack.
They're running counter on us and our entrance stepping down and making it spill.
They're increasing us.
So we'll get those little things fixed.
But that's I mean, that's everything you know, the game is always about inches and it's crazy how much the technique, those inches and technique matter.
So what does this win say about this program coming in on a minute drill, getting the win, holding them off as they were working their way down?
I think the biggest thing is we had seven guys down five, seven starters on defense.
We had to have guys step up.
How meaningful is that for those guys that stepped up in those roles?
And our guys rallying behind them is huge.
I forgot the second part of your question.
I'm sorry, but man, this is a big win.
We're happy about it.
Just, you know, what does this mean about having a win?
That was a gut check with a big drive and a defensive stance.
So that's why I just told the team I'm so happy we got one of these early in the season but we had to dig deep.
We had to rally and have that five minute drive at the end where our kids had to dig.
I mean, we had guys are tired, worn out.
We couldn't go anymore.
We were at our fourth guys.
There's no more no one else to step up.
And they made those plays.
I'm really thankful to get that opportunity.
You don't know what that as a coach is like.
It makes you almost have a heart attack.
But to come out with victory, you can kind of relax now.
Very proud of guys.
Go rest.
Yeah.
Thanks for your time, sir.
Thank you so much.
Thanks for being here.
Joe Sturdivant gets the win tonight in a big three point.
Win the five minute drive, Matt.
They hold him off at the end.
Big win for Parkview Against North Gwinnett and Eric Godfrey, who returned home.
No doubt about it.
What a start to our season here on GPB.
